Glitter Force is the stupidest thing i ever **tried to** watch-ed- The worst thing you could do is change character's names during translation, and they even went as far as also change the name of the anime. And Sailor Moon also has a similar problem, though that was just one studio's error. It lately got redubbed by another studio who kept the characters' og names.

Real talk real quick, the dub for Futari Wa is so unbelievably better than what Smile and Doki Doki Precure got, it's crazy. Like it's pretty good and actually quite faithful to the source material, it makes me sad that it isn't more well known, instead it's the racist, homophobic and xenophobic dub that gets the spotlight
Okay, so Yoshimi-sensei over there is teaching Shakespeare instead of Ono no "Komachi". The original is funny because her VA later played Komachi=Cure Mint.
The rips of Pretty Cure's dub are from an anime/cartoon piracy group that recorded and uploaded the show as it was debuting on YTV. 2004 vs. 2009. Even though the world was far less connected in 2009 than it is now, 2004 was even worse. Online video distribution was in its infancy during the former. For some context, TH-cam wouldn't exist for another year. When it did, you were limited to small file sizes, low resolutions and short run times. According to Pew Research, most Americans with internet access were still on dial-up in 2004. If you were pirating video back then, odds are it was through torrents, usenet or some IRC channel. How many people using those hobbyist platforms were going after a kid's show? The tech to do that wasn't cheap or the easiest to use. If there was anyone online pirating Canadian kids TV back then, Knights of the Zodiac wouldn't have been an obvious choice either. Would you have spent your time recording a show that was airing in the U.S. on mainstream TV and had an ongoing DVD release? Keep in mind, that lack of connectivity also meant there probably weren't many people aware Canada was getting episodes of the show that didn't air in the U.S. I don't think people were expecting that last handful of episodes to never see the light of day again. There's also always going to be things that slip through the cracks. I know you're a 4Kids aficionado. Their SATAM blocks were accessible to basically everyone with a TV in a giant country like the U.S. (with additional carriage in Canada), yet there's still episodes of their shows that haven't resurfaced. At this point, you're basically hoping for a Canadian KOTZ superfan who recorded the entire show's run on YTV to digitize their VHS collection, or someone who just randomly left their VCR running and caught some episodes. Do those people exist? Maybe. Things like the Bush Baby's dub and the latter Canadian dubs of DB/Z/GT only still exist because of them.
@@Electricsounding It's an anime for children about two middle school kids beating the living crap of super powerful adults that work for a living shadow with an eating disorder, I don't think being "silly" is of any concern here.

I'm actually not sure myself! I tried looking this up a while back but no results. I have a feeling that after it got it's DVD version, an English opening theme was made. Especially since it was airing on American channels soon after. So if you watched it before the HD version when you were a child, this would most likely be the case :)

I was about to make the same comment, I remember watching this with my little sister in Pop Girl, it was great
It was actually their flag ship show if I recall correctly.
