Very helpful discussion, but I would say being careful with not saying something we can’t take back and trying to pause and talk when we are calmer can’t become an excuse to not have the “hard” conversations. My wife often says that she doesn’t want to say something that she can’t take back but it can often turn into shutting down and us never addressing the issues that came up.
I am learning to be more patient and careful in how and what I express but again sometimes the “I don’t want to say something I’ll regret” can be used as an excuse for some wives to not be challenged on their possible shutting down, and avoid important difficult conversations.
Once again, very great conversation and you guys gave some very awesome tips. I’ve been married 12 years and my wife was diagnosed as an adult with ADHD and autism so we are continuing to learn and depend on God’s grace and strength in our situation.
    God bless!

Congratulations on your wedding! About the counter top being wet, I would just say, ha, she missed that spot and I would go ahead and clean it myself. It's as simple as that. Instead of that being her duty, it becomes a team effort even though you were not there during the cooking, but you make it complete. That creates more synergy, a sense oneness in the relationship.

Trying not yo transfer my hurt when other things in life do not go well unto my partner. Because I believe life in general should be in service to others, I make a conscientious effort to go beyond saying some agreeable in a discussion and investigate something tangible that can be done to alleviate that person's stressful state....
I am not always as accepting of others who just talk or listen but don't go the extra step for me. I am learning thst people do what they can with what they have.....even though I may push myself to do more than how the average person shows up...others are not going to be reciprocated. My therapist calls it being very conscientious....I am a work in progress.

The man is the leader and the woman needs to get on his program especially in a marriage. As long as King is not being disrespectful in his communication in the moment, then Angela you need to follow his lead. Angela expecting King to hold his tongue and speak about issues at a later date, in my opinion is being passive aggressive in an attempt establish control in the relationship. If you fully trust and believe in King as your leader, then you will trust his form of communication as well and get on his program. One of the hardest things for women who have been single for extended periods, independent and/or career driven is to relinquish control and fully trust and have faith in a man to lead them, commonly referred to as baggage.

I have been a longtime subscriber. I think the husband needs to lighten up a bit. He is too intense. I can see the stress in the wife’s face. She is going to have a difficult time coping with the husband’s argumentative tendencies. I feel for her. Over time, I think the husband is going to f-ck up this relationship. He is not a bad guy but he needs to let little things slide off his back and let his wife “breathe.”

Thank you tor your response. Understanding you have a limited view of our relationship, I’m just a guy who has many great qualities that this woman loves. I’m take the courageous approach of putting my imperfections on display. I am very transparent about MY “areas of improvement” that I am consistently and progressively working on. Because I realize having a good woman in my life requires me to be a better man. Yes… if I hadn’t made those changes and I wasn’t consistently working on myself then yeah, I’d probably “f that up” I realize the gift that I have and I’m glad you do as well. Appreciate you being a supporter. - King

Nah! He's fine. The great thing about this video is that they are listening to each other and learning how to communicate with each other. If he "lighten up" and not say anything, then whatever issues they might have as a couple won't get resolved. This is exactly how couples should talk to each other, but it doesn't happen enough these days.
