  • To enhance your flight simulation experience. Not for real world use.
    New to the Zibo 737 or other highly detailed Boeing aircraft? If so, then we will help you learn the autopilot functions in the MCP (Mode Control Panel). Multiple elements are shown including, speed control, navigation by heading and VOR, vertical navigation in N1, Vertical speed, and Level Change.
    Boeing aircraft have similar logic so with the exception of the 707, 727, and 737-200, this video should help you in all other civilian Boeings.
    We did not discuss the altitude intervene, speed intervene and IAS/MACH functions in this video, as they were outside the scope of this production. This video is aimed for new pilots of the Zibo (and there are many) to learn the basic automated functions and begin flying with minimal time.

    Very nice intro to the MCP. Lots of Zibo simmers want to jump into flying routes, cold/dark starts, autoland etc. Sometimes it's cool to just do a little sightseeing using the MCP. BTW, I liked the creative short field landing!

    Enjoyed that! I am familiar with this aircraft..and for the Autoland feature to work..both NAVS need to be tuned to the loc and set both courses the same. You probably know this already..but for those that didn't. Great info and video to watch..I don't know everything ..always watching for things that I might miss or never seen used before.Thank you! keep it up!..subbed

    This was very useful. Subscribing! Thanks so much for being a little repetitive so that I could see you do it more than once to understand what you were doing. That was much easier than pausing the video, going back and replaying. I didn't see you demonstrate the ALT INTV or SPD INTV buttons. Did I miss something?

    Questions: I have been setting my heading to the departure airport and the course to the route to the arrival airport before takeoff. Then later set the course to the actual
    runway landing heading. I don't think that is all to it. I notice that at different times you change the heading and then at times the course. How do you know when
    to change these settings. I was using MFS-X and that is easier to fly and find the airport. Now I have installed X-plane 11 and can't seem to get to the airport to land.
    It must be the settings of the course or headings or some other factors. My FMC is programed correctly, so I don't believe it is that. Help! Again, you make great videos!

    • @FlightBrothersFT
      @FlightBrothersFT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We just saw this comment. The heading is controlling where the airplane is going. Course is a bearing or radial to or from a navaid, be that an VOR ADF or ILS. If you want to see more of the course usage and VOR work, we have a livestream with the FlyJSim 727 where both Tim and I fly and exercise a little CRM (Crew Resource Management). th-cam.com/video/Zu0KguokqnY/w-d-xo.html

  • @MrFilTheFish

    If you open your map and select a runway to be tuned to your radio, do you have to put those numbers shown on the course?

    • @FlightBrothersFT
      @FlightBrothersFT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the aircraft avionics layout whether it’s “required”. It’s a good idea to do so. In some of the smaller GA planes, if you don’t, the indication may mislead you.

    N1 for takeoff throttle. I have always just manually pushed the throttles forward. I will use N1 from now on. Is this more efficient?

    • @FlightBrothersFT
      @FlightBrothersFT  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kreemerz it allows the automation to help you. Since takeoff thrust setting is a calculated N1 value based on many factors (runway length, temperature, humidity, elevation, runway slope etc) whether you choose to do it manually or through the autothrottles you should arrive at the same N1 % value based on the performance charts. Using the auto throttle gives you a more seamless transition from take off power, to flaps up, to climb power.

    • @fperreault
      @fperreault 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FlightBrothersFT Is there any difference between hitting the N1 button or TO/GA on takeoff? I've never seen the N1 button being used. By the way, the TO/GA button in the Zibo plane is the Mic button on the upper Captain's dash.

    What version of Zibo mod 738 are you using? I installed the latest version, 3.44 full, with the #2 patch and it seems like the instrument panel has some issues, it's not displaying the heading at the top of the Navigation Display screen, where it normally shows it, instead it shows "---", and the attitude indicator display doesn't display correctly. I deleted the entire folder for the aircraft and installed version 3.40 full, and still that didn't help, and I followed the instructions just as outlined in both cases. Before I go to Zibo's Google drive and see what older versions are available, I thought I would check with you. Thanks in advance.

    • @FlightBrothersFT
      @FlightBrothersFT  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In what capacity? If this is a recent Zibo, the flight directors MUST be centered in order to engage. The aircraft will not let the auto flight engage if off the intended flight plan, and you must manually fly it to correct.
