You are my IT career guru. I'm just starting out, learning A+ and hoping to get into a helpdesk spot in the next 2-3 months. I'm following that up with Network+, Security+ and dabbling with Linux on the side. But at the end of the day, I want to go into cybersecurity. You help keep me focused!
Thanks for the great video once again Nicole, I'm on a similar path coming from Pentesting and now new to cloud security, but I feel I've found a role I can really upskill myself in and contribute greatly to the detection and configuration hardening side of things. Also working on my cloud certs, which I'm enjoying alot.
Clearly an underated channel. Im already subscribed to your email newsletters. Thank you keep making amazing videos! Im atudykng for security+ and network+ right after.
I follow your videos, trying to get into cybersecurity, a soc analyst and cloud from Nigeria. Your video have been really informative and helpful, followed you on LinkedIn
You missed out some other core skills such as Bash Scripting, Powershell Scripting and DevOps tools like Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins etc. Most Cloud roles requires those skills along with Virtualization, Kubernetes and Containers.
Thank you for these videos! I’m just getting started in the IT world and taking the google IT support cert course on Coursera. And plan on getting the compTIA a+ right after that. I would like to get into cloud so question. Should I go for the network+ or should I go right into the AWS cloud cert? Thanks for the vids!
I’m currently working on Az-900, I have completed the Google IT and I’m thinking of completing the AWS CCP next. My goal is eventually to land in cloud security, do you think I should start as a system administrator to get some experience or try to hit cloud security after these intro certs? What’re your suggestions?
Nicole Hate to ask this here since my question doesn’t relate. I’ve been watching your videos - I’m subbed btw - finding them very helpful. I’ve got an Ivy League degree - a Master’s in Education with a concentration in tech in Ed - and I’m wondering whether or not I should go for the WGU cyber security BS or Master’s. I’ve got some networking experience. It’s just that I’ve been out of the game for a while. I’d hate to get a BS when with some effort I could get a MS. Any recs? Thanks! Keep up the good work!
Do you have a video on roadmap to ‘cloud security’? I want to be in cloud security. I’m currently studying for Security + then network + but not sure I should go for CEH or cloud +. Thank you 😊
Hi! I want to start with education in cyber security field, to be more specific, I would like to be a SoC analyst. It would mean the world to me if you could answer me a couple of questions. 1. Would getting Google IT Support Certificate, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ be enough to qualify me for the position of a SoC analyst? 2. What kind of projects could I do to put on my portfolio that would help me to get a job without having any experience? Excuse me for my English, it's my 2nd language. Thank you very much!
I would also look into SOC Core Skills by www.antisyphontraining.com/soc-core-skills-w-john-strand/. It is pay what you can. I have a video for SOC analyst projects in the que
I enjoyed the content of this video. Very informative. WHat online forum for cloud computing training do you recommend ? I found two called cloud academy and cloud guru online, and thats about it, are there more that you may recommend ?
HELP! I watched your videos and I’m trying to build a roadmap to cloud computing. I have no experience in IT and I’m wondering which certs are necessary and which are fluff for my journey. So far it seems I will need an OS cert like Linux +, then basic coding skills like a Python cert then fundamentals like a CompTIA networking cert, and cloud essentials cert. My question is what’s necessary in your opinion? Do I need the CompTIA A+, Network +, Security +, Project +, Cloud+, Cloud Essentals, then cloud +, then cloud practitioner and move up the associates to pro to specialist ladder? Or is this too much? I’m trying to minimize time and money while also building the needed skill set to be as successful and competitive as possible! What do you suggest?
Can you cover more on the cloud security bc i was very in the middle of the road picking and i went with cloud to learn at wgu but i also like the aspect of cloud security and how to get into that area of the field.

Thank you for the information. Would a Cloud Computing degree from WGU be worth the pursuit? And, would it be better to focus on Microsoft or AWS?

Did you get a job?
@@BadWeatherfreak Nope.
@@BadWeatherfreak I've applied probably close to 150 jobs.
@madisonboyd7992 oh that sucks. That is my worry, that I go through the trouble of preparing and get the cert and not even get a job.
