I have a question Sandra for someone who is barely going to start something in this field do you recommend getting IT certifications and then moving on to cybersecurity?
@@shafialanower3820 Well, in cybersec, you're going to be spending a lot of your time writing reports. Vulnerability reports, threat intel reports, incident tracking(if you're not using a ticketing system), etc. If you're on the infosec side of the house, you have to deal with audits and security controls, which is a whole different beast of reports you'll have to write lol.
I just started collage online for IT. I’m now 30 k in debt going for my A.S dagree in IT. If I knew about this. I would have tried this first. I got a 14 month class. Witch I’m kinda not happy with. So far it’s just been a week but it’s slow and teaching me how to use Microsoft office and to use email and all that so far so I’m really hoping I start learning cyber security and networking. And it gets better
Thank you for providing such a detailed explanation of the career path of a PGP in cyber security . This article helped me clarify a lot of things. However, I have a question regarding the entry into this profession. Is it possible to obtain a job as a cyber security once I complete the PG course in cyber security that you mentioned in your video?
You may have already done this, but could you do a video on what we should be looking for in a laptop specific to cybersecurity? I know the easy answer is 128gig ram and 2 tb of storage. But for those of us that cant drop 3500 bucks on a computer, what would you say?
16gb ram and Intel i7 quad core CPU is a good start for laptops to run multiple vm's the storage space isn't too important as you can easily buy external SSD if you need extra. 32gb ram is better if you want to run 10+ vm's but for a start 16 is enough. How upgradable the laptop is can help if you want to add ram but many have it soldered on so check with websites like crucial to see if the laptop you desire is capable of being upgraded. Hope this helps I was recently doing research as I was buying a laptop for college but one that can also run Kali well.

Hi Sandra, awesome video 💯 thanks. I want your opinion on this. I have 5yrs helpdesk experience and currently out of work.. I am looking to either go into cybersecurity because I think I won't totally waste my help desk experiece or change to data analysis. I don't know which degree I must settle for, I already have a diploma in aeronautical electronics engineering.
@@St_Mo if you can study for and pass CompTIA A+, that would be a great start. Network+ goes well with that as well. If you are going to do anything with Gov (if you have a clearance already), security+ will get you in the door.
Joshua - data science is huge right now, but it's pretty deep. Cyber will likely be a quicker and easier one to crack into. You can do that without a degree if you get the right certs and have background. Also, keep in mind that a lot of cyber is network based. If your helpdesk was network based rather than just desktop support, that will be a big help also.
I'd start with Python or Javascript if you're just starting out for cybersecurity. Even bash scripting could be a good option to learn, it really depends on what you're trying to do.
Hey Sandra if someone is interested in the security aspect of web3 and defi related stuff do these points you listed also still apply or is there other things to take into account?
Stop referring people to Simlpilearn. I signed up for the program based on the recommendation and it was a bad idea. The teachers have a thick Bangladesh accent so you can not understand the English they speak.

Don't forget to learn the most important cyber security tool- Excel 🙃
Out of curiosity, how often is it used or have you come across situations in cybersecurity where knowing excel was helpful

Google is your friend here. there's a plethora of templates and tools to automate the report writing, just make sure you proofread and clen it up.

Can I become a cybersecurity using computer science degree?
Yes. If you know how to code, it’s very important for cybersecurity
Where can I find the command line list you had in this video?
Also for the at home lab, are there any demo pans with those systems?
Hey Sandra i liked it
Great Information. I’m getting an associates in cybersecurity.

How did you get your start?
I’ve been trying but it isn’t as easy as it seems
I have a question
If i want to study cyber sec which path should i choose networking or developing
Thanks in advance
always networking. Developemnt is software coding/engineering, and could be better aimed for DevOps or DevSecOps.
Thanks alot
shes so pretty ong
thanks for the info Sandra! do you still work in the field or are you doing TH-cam fulltime now?
Is 49 too late to have a career in cybersecurity
Girl why you talk so fast at first I tought I was watching the video in x2
so i have to do a 4 years bachelor for cybersecurity 😭
All good but how do I get that first job w/o CySec exp? (CySa+ holder, some IT general exp, master's degree in IT) Most jobs want 3-5 years exp
My question too😔
What degree do you have?
1:32 Why not Parrot OS or Kali?

There is too much beginner content on TH-cam and not enough ROP Chains.
