    Nice having Invincible Spirit as grand-sire and the great Montjeau, as your grandma.. Incredible turn of foot. The jockey knows about the horse he has under him, and lets him turn it on at the right time!!!!

    Was anyone else reminded of Zarkava in the Prix Vermeille of 2008? (She of course lost 50 m to the field within the first few seconds).

    Today Adelaide River showed again what i said when sticking up the ride Hefferman give him in the Irish derby everyone was saying jockey didn't try. It's clear as day he's temperamental and doesn't respond to the whip

      Well said. He's a good horse but he just lacks a turn of foot. There was no criticism of Ryan Moore over how he rode him today.

      Some of the Australia colts seem to lack the turn of foot. Some as in many at Group 1. It's not easy at the top.
      Yes and some people think you supposed to keep hitting a horse out in front. The one that's slowing down.
      They aren't clueless really they just dont understand horseracing 😂
      Sometimes horses look like they are finishing quick as everything else is slowing down.

    A serious horse when the going report has Soft in it.
    In the French Derby, which is the best 3yo form this year.
    Feed the flame was tapped for toe on the very fast ground.
    It was a course record that day.
    He finished 4 lengths into fourth, the extra 300 meters here, plus the good to soft ground seen him at his best.
    The last 3 furlongs here, where covered in a course record on good to soft.
    The overall time was exceptional, good enough to win the Arc 18 out of the last 25 years.
    He never come out of 3rd gear, if its on the soft side come the Arc?
    This is your winner!!!

    I would still be pleased if i was a fan of the two horses in second and third. Evidently a possibly special horse won with how he flew home would love to see more french derby horses , like ace impact , run to verify the form that much more.
    I dont blame shoemark at all for the ride on SS i just think she was beaten by two progressive colts. Ive seen too much hate on his ride and honestly idk what more he couldve done.

      Adelaide River gave Auguste Rodin a scare a few days ago (& some say he wasn't given his best chance to win) so he's a good barometer between the French & UK/Irish 3yos

      @Nanuqar ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tomojay28 I've been a big fan of the horse since I saw him with my own eyes on his seasonal debut (liked him more than arrest).
      I think he's the improving sort where he runs better on every run, but today was run down by a seemingly very class horse in a French run race

    • @tomojay28
      @tomojay28 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Nanuqar Yes, the talent is there; but have to worry about him being a bridesmaid; he seems a bit one-paced but having said that he has hit the front in the stretch in his last 3, each successive start looking a threat to win. From his entries he may be targeting the St. Leger; wouldn't be shocked to see him next in the Great Voltigeur; might also be suited for the BC in America
