Really, really refreshing to see a review taking these products seriously. So many Sisley reviews (or other luxe reviews) focus on the OMG factor of the cost instead of the product itself and what it does. Absolutely loving your channel, your knowledge of products and your genuine reviews of these types of brands. You are an absolute GEM.
hi michele. since wayne goss did this powder techniqe before, I think it will be very interesting if you will do a video one part og the face with the sisley powder and the other part with anothe powder and see if it makes a different. love your videos.
I remember a video by Wayne Goss where he used powder before foundation. And people were doing it with the Urban Decay velvetizer powder, but I think it is more the technique than the actual product that makes the whole shebang work. Still, the whole thought of applying powder before foundation gives me anxiety, especially since you don't apply powder after! I may try it this weekend when I don't have anywhere to go....
OMG! So glad you tried their application tip. Didn’t buy the powder initially because I was worried it would be way too dark on me... but I think using it under foundation would work great! Thank you Michele!
I literally took off my makeup redid my skincare and put the powder on top of Sisley spf. 🤨And it worked! I probably will wear this powder with sunscreen alone because it’s such a great look!
Very classy of you to give their (Sisley’s) recommendation a fair serious whole hearted thorough shot. I’m falling harder and harder in love with your channel! I adore luxury : cannot afford much of it but I do love to know what’s worth it/product “hacks” if you will. Much Love!!!! 🙏❤️
I love the look you created - very pretty! I know I've mentioned this before, but I love everything I've tried from Sisley (and it's a lot). I use the blur expert powder with a primer first, then I either use the Sisley Phyto poudre in Irisee or the By Terry CC powder depending on how much glow I want or if it's day or night. I love the phyto twist eye in 1-Topaz; 7-Havana; 5-Lagoon; 6-Marine and 9-Pearl - they make a great quick eye look. I also have the phyto Kohl-Star in Sparkling Bronze, I don't tight-line so I haven't had a problem with the glitter. I have a bunch of other color products and I love them all! Thanks for doing this video and take care! Ginny 😘😘😘
Thanks for sharing this technique Michelle. I hesitated when the powder first launched because it didn't look any different than any other powder. I decided to get it after watching your video a few weeks ago. I also got the Sisley powder brush and absolutely love both products. I use it as a finishing powder and I can definitely see the blurring and veiled effect immediately. To be honest, I love it so much, that I'm thinking of getting a backup in case it's discontinued at some point.
I live in a climate equal to or warmer than you...how did this method hold up in the heat? BTW it looks amazing on you! Thanks for updating this video!
So glad you did this video! I have the Sisley Blur Expert powder and feel exactly like you did. It’s a gorgeous powder, but even though my skin is couple of shades darker than yours, I felt like the powder was darkening my foundation, and so I have only been using it when I use a foundation that’s a bit light for me. Going to try using the poster first ASAP. Did you find that your skin looked more dry than usually as the day went on using this technique? I also have dry skin, and so that’s always a concern for me. Thanks!
Michele Wang Thanks for your response! I tried using the powder first and had the same results that you did. My skin didn’t feel dry, and my foundation was its intended color. It really is a beautiful powder
I LOVE this powder straight after primer. I, too, am 45, fair skin colour & Australia based (so mostly warm to hot weather) & can get away with just the Blur & concealer for a light look or with a light layer of foundation for fuller coverage. Applied with SG Face One & it definitely lasted all day. This will be a great travel product if I want to pack light.
The powder's first listed ingredient is mica, which is reflective, and the second is titanium dioxide, a mineral that oxidizes and is one of two ingredients used in mineral sunscreen, which is now considered the safest way to protect against uva and uvb light damage. The powder is too yelow for my mixed Northern European skin tone combined with rosacea, but there are other brands with the same main ingredients. That e-said, the foundation is definitely calling my name. Great review and Sisley demo. Have been using Sisley skincare and fragrances for almost 40 years. Makeup was introduced later. My favourite lipstick of all time was their #40, which was discontinued 15 years ago.i have kept it in the fridge, and keep looking for a dupe. Impossible.
I’ve had one of those sisley phyto blush sticks for over two years now. The cap has not loosened up and the product hasn’t gone bad. Really like it. I have the colour papaya which looks red orange in the stick but blends out nicely even on light skintone.
Dear Michele, thank you so much. I really didn't know how to make this powder work and was kind of disappointed because I couldn't see the point of using it. Now I'm thrilled to use it the same way as you showed with the cushion foundation. Your skin looks airbrushed and flawless xx
Hey pretty lady. I am definitely going to try this method for sure. It really made your skin flawless and soft looking. Gorgeous finish. Big hugs. Xoxo 😘
Can’t wait to try this!! I’m coming to Vegas for work next week I’ve got an afternoon set aside just for shopping. Where is the best place to shop for Sisley makeup? I’m staying at the Cosmopolitan. I’ve got limited access in Denver and have a hard time with colors online.
hi michelle...yes wayne goss did that technique and it did work for me, but thanks for doing again with your video. i do enjoy your videos. i like your reaction when you are not happy with a product...lol....
Samia Sasin I had to comment on this.....spot on with her ‘best of the best’ reactions to products that sort of disappoint her, she just does it in such a polite, laid back way. MIchelle, if you read this.....you really have the most soothing, calm way about you.....a sheer pleasure to watch! And that powder/foundation combo is absolutely amazing, you look fabulous. Elaine
I've been your fun for just a few weeks now. I've already seen a dozen of your make-ups. This one is the best. Eyes - goOOOrgeous, skin - luminous and natural. LOVE.
Hey Michele, love your channel and greetings from London. A wee tip on holding curly eyelashes (which you probably know already) - I curl my sad, stumpy lashes and apply a very thin coat of waterproof mascara. Doesn’t matter whether it’s a fancy-pants one or a, what you guys call, drugstore one. Just make sure each lash is coated. Leave on for a couple of minutes and use your non-waterproof formula, but very thinly (or another thin coat of waterproof). THEN, 3rd coat you can go using regular pressure and build. I’ve made it sound like a lot but it’s quite easy and I’m quite used to it.
Sooooooo excited to try this trick! Was almost going to return but now I need to try again. When I wore on top of foundation I didn’t notice a difference at all!
Such a pleasure to watch this. You know I think Sisley makeup is the best on the market, hands down. Some powder eye shadows and Phyto Lip Star (sparkly lip gloss) colours are being discontinued, with up to 30% off some colours! They were available as of last night (UK time) in the Harrods sale FYI. Oh and the metallic finish shadows are simply gorgeous.
Thank you for the update. You look beautiful! I have very pale skin and the blur does add a hint of color (which I love) Neither matte, nor shimmery. Just a beautiful skin like blur. I am also obsessed with the Phyto blush (I use #1-Petal) BEST blush ever. May I suggest you use your index finger in a gentle circular motion to blend the blush. (don't over blend) At first glance it might look like it enhances pores, but then it self melts into your skin. I would be curious if you like that technique. Thank you.
This is a revelation! I’ve never heard of this type of application. If I were to try it I’d use the same foundation too. Your skin looks beautiful. Thanks for the video. Quite educational.💚
I don’t like Sisley sparkling black eyeliner. I am still waiting for matte black eyeliner. However, new Sisley matte Onyx eyeliner just came out along with other new matter colours. Wondering if it is actually waterproof.
Nice Michele! The powder and foundation are my favorite things. Your skin does look so smooth with only a slight sheen not shiny nor too matte. Lovely!
Hi Michele, thank you for this update I the powder! I’ve hesitated on getting it after your first review. Now I’m definitely getting one!! (If I can still get my hands on it 😂😂)
Thank you so much for the new application of the powder first! I have dry mature skin and powder before foundation sounds crazy to me! I bought the powder and really didn’t see a lot of blurred effects. Will definitely try it now before my foundation. I love the loose powder I use it everyday! Great review and video!💕
Hey Michele.. I got it and I love it. But I will try under the foundation . It really looks wonderful on you. Btw.. your reference to baby’s butt cheek cracked me up😁😁
That's why I love you so much, Michele - babybuttcheeks 😂😂😂 That was amazing! You totally made my day! I think the first person who introduced the idea of applying liquid foundation on top of powder was Wayne Goss and I've tried it once. It looked absolutely beautiful but then I never tried it again. I think I might try that again. I love the whole makeup look and your skin looks super smooth and polished. xoxo
That's a gorgeous look on you. Yesterday a Nordstrom counter person used a Sisley lip gloss on me and I purchased it. When I got home I saw that it was $57--for a lipgloss!! I didn't even open the box and it's going back. Love the look of everything but I just can't justify the $. Wish I could.
Hi Michele, many thanks for this amazing video and for sharing this tip. I need to try to do it though will try with any other powder, maybe my Sisley loose. Very curious about this technique and this powder now. Totally agree with the phyto blushes, I have 2 of them and like them but the powdery finish makes them a little less appealing than some of my other cream blushes. I also own 1 phyto eye twists but is maybe my less favorite product of all the Sisley ones I have. Also love the phyto lip twists! Some of my favorite. By the way I totally recommend the Sisley primer eclat lumiere , not sure about the name now but is the illuminating one:-) and for another different product I love a lot the Eau de Campagne, I use it a lot on a daily basis now in summer, is like being in the countryside, very fresh fragrance 😘😘
Ohhh thanks for the fragrance rec. I always admire the bottles at the counter but haven’t really smelled them all. I’ll start with that one. Thank you!
i only have fragrance items from sisley - eau de campagne perfume and shower gel; they are lovely especially in the warmer summer months. i tend to do full faces of single brands which is why i’d rather not get anything till there are enough interesting & potentially wearable items. which is also why i don’t have that many brands in my (already full) drawers 😃 i wanted to just add some more info re mascaras : try those with an hourglass shaped wand to get volume and curl - the hourglass (ha !) film noir and marc jacobs velvet noir are a couple of good examples. the hourglass one is less clumpy, very smooth and also separates well. the marc jacobs one gives more volume & is very black. i like pairing it with their recently released lash primer which is hreat at lengthening & separation. as for mascaras with curved wands like the sisley one here, the curve should hug the lashes as you coat them so that the lashes are gently pushed upwards into a curl that mimics the shape of the wand. in an earlier comment, i suggested the dior overcurl mascara, and that one has a curved wand too. oh and i never use waterproof mascaras, they don’t usually perform as well, but that’s only been my personal experience.
Wow will have to try the powder under foundation. I didn’t think it was too bad over Foundation but definitely not a baby’s butt. Very nice review using Sisley products. I purchased Sisley lip liner & 2 lip twists off your recommendation and love them!!
Mr Wayne Goss did a video a couple of years ago on powdering the face before foundation for oily skin. I haven’t tried it because I don’t have oily skin but I will now. I think it has a pore filling effect.
That was so cool! Tbh I was really skeptical the Blur Expert would work under foundation, but there you go - it looked amazing in fact! I've kept testing mine, and again, not sure I could detect an actual oxidation issue, just the fact that the powder itself is a tiny bit too dark for me and not translucent enough :-( I hope they add at least one lighter and one darker shade... What I've done recently is used it on top of a very thin layer of YSL Souffle d'Eclat (01), for extra blurring and neutralising the slightly-too-pink-for-me tone of the YSL. And it worked a treat that way, and wasn't too dark anymore. But I will continue to test it in other ways..so we shall see what happens!
Good morning! That Sisley Powder looks amazing under your foundation! Do you think it would look that good if you didn’t use a Sisley foundation? I use Koh Gen Do or the Chanel new water (forget the name of it) that isn’t really foundation but that light new lovely formula! I think I will have to try that powder because yes, your skin has never looked so lovely!! WOW! Gorgeous look overall!!
I bought the Sisley brow pencil in the same color. It went on very dark even though I tried a light hand. I was ok with it but after a couple of hours, the color got a lot lighter and oxidized into a very red brown color, it was the strangest look and very unnatural. I tried several more times, and the same thing would happen. I was trying to see if anyone else had the same issue?
I am surprised they only have 3 shades for the cushion foundation. I would need see the products in person to see if any match my skin tone. I do enjoy many products by Sisley. My holy grail foundation is from Osmosis. Girl now I’m headed straight over to Nordstrom after this video 😂👍🏼
I have the powder and almost returned it because of the darkening effect on my skin. Your video was terrific, and I am trying this technique today. Thank you for revisiting this product and sharing the #babybuttcheeks 😉
Sadly the whole cake of powder fell out of the pan! I've only used it a couple of times and I'm not rough with my makeup... so be careful with it. I didn't love it... it's a bit too dark for me as well. So I didn't care all that much but I think I'll give it another go with this technique. Thank you! ♥️
Theoretically, powder first should solve all my problems. I live in Houston which is basically a swamp and it's NEVER dry. HOWEVER - how am I supposed to blend foundation over a powder?? The answer is, I can't - thus, powder first has never worked for me.
Thank you so much Kate!
Half face at the beginning with the blur powder, I see a wonderful, huge difference. This product goes on the must-have list.
hi michele. since wayne goss did this powder techniqe before, I think it will be very interesting if you will do a video one part og the face with the sisley powder and the other part with anothe powder and see if it makes a different. love your videos.

I always wonder how the skin will react having foundation over power. Will it cause bumps, trigger acnes etc. I have sensitive skin.
OMG! So glad you tried their application tip. Didn’t buy the powder initially because I was worried it would be way too dark on me... but I think using it under foundation would work great! Thank you Michele!
Wayne Goss did the powder before foundation several years ago. I love the technique. Works great for my mature skin.
Does the powder sit into wrinkles???
I literally took off my makeup redid my skincare and put the powder on top of Sisley spf. 🤨And it worked! I probably will wear this powder with sunscreen alone because it’s such a great look!
爱儿,我抓到你了!!哈哈哈哈哈哈

Much Love!!!! 🙏❤️
Hi! I love your videos!! If you should chose one, which one would you reccomend, this one or the Phyto Powder Compacte? Thanks!
I love the look you created - very pretty! I know I've mentioned this before, but I love everything I've tried from Sisley (and it's a lot). Hi! No - not dry at all! I am actually amazing at how unpowdery it feels and behaves. It's like it melts onto the skin.
Michele Wang Thanks for your response! I tried using the powder first and had the same results that you did. My skin didn’t feel dry, and my foundation was its intended color. It really is a beautiful powder
Catching up on all the videos I missed while on vacation. But in other news, how excited are you for the new Lisa Eldridge lipsticks 🎉🎉
I can hardly stand it. I loved her matte velvet release but I don’t wear mattes often so I’m really excited!!!
Same! This time I’m going to pick them up as soon as they release. The watermelon pink color is such a summer color!
I LOVE this powder straight after primer. Try Temptalia.com for a dupe.
Which exact lipstick name can u plz mention here bcoz when i type sisley lipstick shade 40 , 2 different shades come .

I really love Sisley.....i use the blur expert powder before i use the anti aging foundation.....and it looks verry good thanks for youre advice (y)
hi michelle...yes wayne goss did that technique and it did work for me, but thanks for doing again with your video. i do enjoy your videos. i like your reaction when you are not happy with a product...lol....

Thank you for that!! I am going to try putting the blur before cushion. Curious how it looks and feels. Will keep you posted
Did u like it update plz
I really like the Sisley method and beautiful results. It’s remarkable!
I've been your fun for just a few weeks now. I've already seen a dozen of your make-ups. This one is the best. Eyes - goOOOrgeous, skin - luminous and natural. LOVE.
Thank you!
Thats amazing! Powder before liquid? And it looks really good! I need to get that😜
😃👍xoxo
Hi Michele I’ve been doing this with the Sisley powder lately.....I know right it’s quite amazing 😉
It really is!
I bought this powder and was having the same problem. I am going to give this technique a try!!
Thank you.
Thanks Colleen!! I’ll try that! 👍🏻
Hi Michele, what kind of sponge are you using?
Michele is using a Sonja Kashuk sponge.
Sonja Kashuk sponges and makeup tools can be purchased at Target in the US and I think Boots in the UK.
This is a revelation! I’ve never heard of this type of application. If I were to try it I’d use the same foundation too. Your skin looks beautiful. Thanks for the video. Quite educational.💚
Thanks Deborah! A revelation indeed!
Wow I will definitely buy this powder and foundation, your skin looks amazing.
I don’t like Sisley sparkling black eyeliner. I am still waiting for matte black eyeliner. However, new Sisley matte Onyx eyeliner just came out along with other new matter colours. Wondering if it is actually waterproof.
I use it under Sisley Phyto-teint ultra éclait foundation, it works perfectly.
Nice Michele! The powder and foundation are my favorite things. Your skin does look so smooth with only a slight sheen not shiny nor too matte. Lovely!
Thank you! 😘😘
Hi Michele, thank you for this update I the powder! I’ve hesitated on getting it after your first review. Now I’m definitely getting one!! (If I can still get my hands on it 😂😂)
Under foundation 🤯🤯😍
Good morning Michele!!!
The eye twists are pretty!!!!
Thanks Paola! Amazing, right?!!
You look gorgeous!! Life is too short, crack open that new mascara!
😆😆 like… why not 😆😆
Thank you so much for the new application of the powder first! I have dry mature skin and powder before foundation sounds crazy to me! I bought the powder and really didn’t see a lot of blurred effects. Will definitely try it now before my foundation. I love the loose powder I use it everyday! Great review and video!💕
Absolutely stunning Michelle! Well done look. Just love your makeup picks!
Thank you Karen!!
😂 The thumbnail to this video is probably your greatest yet. 💯💯 Now onto actually watching.
😀😀thank you!!
Yes starting to see the difference since you started pressing the powder in.
Thank you Michele. So interesting... Definitely will get it this time. I like the fact that you don’t need to powder after foundation. ❤️
It’s really such an interesting technique! Will def be playing around with it more!
I think I might try that again. I love the whole makeup look and your skin looks super smooth and polished. xoxo
Thanks Angela! I should have known it was WG - he’s got the best tips!
what kind of blending sponge is that? very eye catching!
You purchased it without knowing your total?
@@tanyaadam5981 I did. It was just a lipgloss and I have never purchased anything Sisley so...my bad!!
I'm glad you redid the video.
Hi Michele, many thanks for this amazing video and for sharing this tip. I need to try to do it though will try with any other powder, maybe my Sisley loose. Hello Michele, do you think this sisley powder is universal enough to suit fair skin as well?
I dont think so specially on top of foyndation .asxi bought today and its towards medium skintone .
i only have fragrance items from sisley - eau de campagne perfume and shower gel; they are lovely especially in the warmer summer months. i tend to do full faces of single brands which is why i’d rather not get anything till there are enough interesting & potentially wearable items. which is also why i don’t have that many brands in my (already full) drawers 😃 i wanted to just add some more info re mascaras : try those with an hourglass shaped wand to get volume and curl - the hourglass (ha !) film noir and marc jacobs velvet noir are a couple of good examples. the hourglass one is less clumpy, very smooth and also separates well. the marc jacobs one gives more volume & is very black. i like pairing it with their recently released lash primer which is hreat at lengthening & separation. as for mascaras with curved wands like the sisley one here, the curve should hug the lashes as you coat them so that the lashes are gently pushed upwards into a curl that mimics the shape of the wand. in an earlier comment, i suggested the dior overcurl mascara, and that one has a curved wand too. oh and i never use waterproof mascaras, they don’t usually perform
as well, but that’s only been my personal experience.
Wow will have to try the powder under foundation. I didn’t think it was too bad over Foundation but definitely not a baby’s butt. Very nice review using Sisley products. I purchased Sisley lip liner & 2 lip twists off your recommendation and love them!!
Perfect timing for watching your Sisley video! Just put an order in for Harrods and now may pick up a few more things after watching you video! 👀
Your skin is perfect! How do you not have any wrinkles? Do you use Botox?
Have you tried their primer? Worth it? Helena
Your skin looks absolutely glorious. I believe my favorite on you. Great close-up shots. Thank you.
Love all things Sisley!
Hi Michelle, I hope you can make a new luxury review on Koh Gen Do.
Thank you for your excelente and professional videos 🙏🏻
I’m sold. Must get the powder!!
Mr Wayne Goss did a video a couple of years ago on powdering the face before foundation for oily skin. I haven’t tried it because I don’t have oily skin but I will now. I think it has a pore filling effect.
Yeah Michele!! Right before hitting the Sisley counter I get this video from you🥳😍😝
Woohoo!!! Have fun!!
Michele Wang 😝😝😝
I’m going to keep playing with it! Will report back!
@@TheMicheleWang can u plz update .abt this
Super beautiful look!
Thank you!
Where can the Vibe ting be bought? Love your channel.
I’m waiting for my flight home and have three of your videos to watch, yay!
Yay!!! xoxo
I actually watched a Wayne Goss video where he suggested to put powder on before foundation FYI.
Yes WG! He's so brilliant.
Fascinating... definitely going to try this method.
Michele, can you identify the beauty blender in this video? I've never seen one so big!
It’s the Sonia kashuk from Target
@@TheMicheleWang THANK YOU!!
U made me buy it😂 but love it so much. Keep doing what u do. Ur my go to girl for high end prod. Thank you for all of your wonderful reviews❤️
Your finished look was amazing. ❤️
Thanks Sandra!!
I decided not to try it because of your first review but now it looks like I’m going to have to try it 😊
👍🏻👍🏻
I bought the Sisley brow pencil in the same color. It went on very dark even though I tried a light hand. I was ok with it but after a couple of hours, the color got a lot lighter and oxidized into a very red brown color, it was the strangest look and very unnatural. I tried several more times, and the same thing would happen. I was trying to see if anyone else had the same issue?
I have dry skin too, so I'm curious to see if other brands stand up to this method.
Michele, you crack me up! Babybuttcheek!
Wow this is in my cart in beautylish but was hesitating. Now I’m sold. I want baby butt cheeks! Thanks Michele for this review again. 🥳🤩😍
Babybuttcheeks for the win! 🤣
what brush she used pleaaase for the powder
I have the powder and almost returned it because of the darkening effect on my skin. Your video was terrific, and I am trying this technique today. Thank you for revisiting this product and sharing the #babybuttcheeks 😉
I watched the whole video but all i can remember is.. #babybuttcheek 😂😂😂
Any Powder and foundation?? Or this Powder with any foundation??
That's my new skin goal #babybuttcheeks 😂
Hi What color are you in the Sisley cushion?
#3 - Light Rose. The shade range is about undertones and are supposed to "color adjust" a bit.
Where is your sponge from?
“It looks like a baby butt cheek” haha 😂😂😂😂😂 I’m definitely trying it out now.
Thank you for the update!
😂😂😂😂baby butt cheeks. Looks flawless! Now I have to go purchase that combo! Thank you Michele
I need this sisley powder!!!
I need a babies butt cheek on my face... thanks for the review!
Sadly the whole cake of powder fell out of the pan! I've only used it a couple of times and I'm not rough with my makeup... so be careful with it. I didn't love it... it's a bit too dark for me as well. So I didn't care all that much but I think I'll give it another go with this technique. Thank you! ♥️
I wonder how the powder would do under the Chanel water tint
I’ll have to try that!
Now I need thisss. 😂😂
Powder under liquid foundation gives me anxiety but I will give it a shot.
I bought the blurring powder today and love it!
#babybuttcheeks hahaha! I need that powder now, darn it :)
Theoretically, powder first should solve all my problems. I live in Houston which is basically a swamp and it's NEVER dry. HOWEVER - how am I supposed to blend foundation over a powder?? The answer is, I can't - thus, powder first has never worked for me.
