I laid my 797 down and bent the shift lever just like how it looks in the video. I ended up using a large socket to bend it back into shape. Good video, smart 👍
Remove the lever from the bike then bend it in a vice. Otherwise, you could compromise the splines or gearbox shaft which becomes expensive and painful.

I wiped out at 15 mph. Now the shifter is scraping the fairing. I need to bend the shifter away from the fairing using your technique.
Same I drop it in the drive way and the shifter bent in 😭

I know it may not be 100% steel haha, but it was pretty tough but manageable just by using both hands 🤘🏻👍🏻
