Followed this video and one other for Waterpump, camshaft seal, timing belt replacement on my 1987 BMW 325I. No start after completion. I think the reason is that I did not install Camshaft Adapter - Ignition Rotor correctly. I reinstalled the ignition rotor arbitrarily not paying attention to how rotor should be position. My questions: 1) How should it be positioned? 2) Can I remove the camshaft adaptor-ignition rotor bolt with the upper timing cover still on to adjust Camshaft Adapter - Ignition Rotor to the correct position.
The e30 love , endless, thanks for sharing , the only thing I would do different is not tightening the tensioner bolt before rotating the engine two times , u tighten it after the two revelations.
Hey bro, when you wrapped that old belt around the cam pulley, how did it keep it from moving? Did you attach it to something or lean that vice grip against something? Couldn't make out what you were doing with that. Great video man!
@@f.s.detailgarage7869 I'm not following....why did you wrap the belt around the pulley? I thought you were using it to keep the pulley from turning but if the belt wasn't against something or whatever, I don't guess it would keep it from moving.... So what were you using the belt for???
I’m holding the cam gear in place so it doesn’t spin while breaking the bolt loose. I’m using the vise grips to clamp the belt tight to the cam gear then I hold the vise grips with one hand and break the bolt loose with the other hand.
Im just fixing my e30 2.7 86 but i dont know how to put all alighnment or in time ( im. From México) idk how to say it would u helpme with some troubles i have with mine?
Hey on my Radiator I have like some hose on the bottom that is a smaller one, it has like a metal connector its not like the bigger fat hoses, its much thinner... What is that do you know?? Thanks
@@f.s.detailgarage7869 Hey man it's 2 hoses on the radiator, not water/cooland hoses, these are for Automatics on E's, there is a Transmission cooler in my model and these hoses feed to the transmission, do you know what mm those hoses would be? They can only be done with a wrench...
@@f.s.detailgarage7869 thanks man for the reply... all good yeh ill just get some cheap set, I think they are 16mm from what Im reading... I don't anything over a 13mm wrench thats why... its 16 or 18mm .... also can you tell me did you jack your car up in this video man?

@@RexOne108 itll be in the same position as the beginning of the video pointing to around 11 o’clock. It should only go on in one direction.
Witch tool or socket did you use to remove the center bolt on the cam pully
Can’t remember the size but it’s a male torque
Thanks 🙏
Your welcome
Some guides says that torx is reverse threaded, and you didint mentionet, so i just ensure is the t-50 torx lefty loosy or reverse threaded?
Can’t remember off the top of my head but I would say if I didn’t state it was reverse threading then it’s probably lefty loosey righty tighty.
Thanks fast reply. 🤝Looked your video carefully zoomed in and it is lefty loosey righty tighty.

Did you take off the ac compressor belt or did I miss it? Struggling with that rn
The ac tensioner works the same way as the power steering tensioner fyi. My AC was removed other to this video if I remember correctly.
