      I have a sleeping sack - its like a sleeping bag but just made of lightweight sheet material. I put it between the bed sheets and it always feels like home. That and a diffuser for essential oils and to humidify the air - hotels some times stink so its nice to always have a scent that calms me available anywhere I travel

      Thanks for another really interesting video! It was nice to see a bit more of your colleagues in this one. I’m currently living between Birmingham and Greece so your question is quite relevant. I spend up to six days on the road going through Europe between my two homes as well. Definitely making similar food helps give me a sense of consistency, as do my running and yoga routines. I think the best thing, though, is always remembering to pray. I find it really doesn’t matter where in the world you are if you can feel close to God. Have a good week in Plymouth!

    I'm 26 going on 27. I haven't been in ballet since I was 6 or 7. I had to get out of it due to it being so expensive that my mom couldn't keep up with it. But watching you and other professionals has inspired me so much. I've been working on my body for a year now trying to get all 3 of my splits in as well as turn outs so I can sign up for adult ballet. I hope to become a professional like you and so many others. I listen to your videos while working and they just relax me and keep me motivated. Please keep doing what you're doing and spread so much love around the world. We love you. 🙏🩰💕🩷❤️🌹

    1/ I love the little clips of you dancing! I especially love the flowy skirt! ❤️
    Regarding hotels: are you allowed to choose at what hotel to stay? I had assumed your company booked all of the dancers at the same hotel. Please don't go to any extra trouble just to make your vlogs a bit different!
    As for whether they are getting repetitive, it sounds like what you're asking is are the viewers bored? Of course, there is going to be repetition because you have the same type of schedule for shows and meals etc. with maybe a bit of variation from time to time. A lot of what you do and a lot of what everybody does in their life is routine and that's not avoidable; as a matter of fact, it makes life easier. So I am not at all bored as I really enjoy your vlogs! In my opinion, don't change anything unless you want to. Don't feel forced to do something different because you think it might get more views, is my suggestion.
    I've split up my remarks into multiple comments, and hopefully that will help the algorithm as well!

    • @HannahMartinRG
      @HannahMartinRG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much for the confidence just to keep on carrying on!
      Yes, the company books our hotel but we do have an option to take tour allowance and book our own if we so choose. I just need to be organised enough to do it 😂

    • @dronesclubhighjinks
      @dronesclubhighjinks ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HannahMartinRG You are most welcome! That is very interesting that they allow you to choose your own hotel if you prefer. I would not have expected that. Since you do room reviews in your vlogs, you could start a spreadsheet for the locations at which you have stayed. You can have columns, which you can check off, for mini fridges, type of bath, availability of porridge, whatever your priorities are etc. I don’t know if your company goes to the same towns each year or if they switch it up. If it’s the same towns, that would make things easier. If not, at least if you are staying at chain hotels, you may find that one chain always has mini fridges, whereas others are hit and miss.
      You are still very new in this career so being organized to that extent will come much more easily with time. I am very impressed that with all of the extra stress that touring creates, you are finding time to record several times each day, and edit your videos, and respond to comments! You are doing amazingly well! And it’s perfectly OK if you need to take a break from social media. Just write a community post that you’re taking a break and everybody will understand. Lotsa hugs! 💕👏🙌😍

    I was just thinking from a nutrition standpoint, maybe it could be nice to add cashews, quinoa or 'parelcouscous' to your salad if you need more energy, or hazelnuts to your morning porridge. I tend to burn a lot of energy doing very little and these tend to help me out.

    • @HannahMartinRG
      @HannahMartinRG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for these tips 🙌🏻🤩

  • @dronesclubhighjinks
    @dronesclubhighjinks ปีที่แล้ว +2

    4/ Dehydration has physical repercussions, which are not good, and can contribute to feelings of both physical and mental exhaustion, and can also cause nausea which you may have noticed. If you can, start to prioritize drinking water. You may even want to get some Gatorade powder and put a little bit in your bottle before you go to work and then add water. "Shaken, not stirred." 😁 The electrolytes are good for your body. "Electrolytes will help replace minerals, such as sodium, magnesium, and potassium, that are lost when you sweat or get sick."
    If you're having difficulty remembering to drink water, maybe ask the other dancers what they do. By the way, you and your friends look absolutely stunning!
    Take care! ❤

    • @HannahMartinRG
      @HannahMartinRG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for these tips!! Hydration is so so important! I need to keep working on ways to remind myself more often!

    • @dronesclubhighjinks
      @dronesclubhighjinks ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HannahMartinRG You’re welcome! A simple way to remind oneself of something is to write the letter “W“ for example, on the inside of your finger or palm, or wherever nobody else will notice it, but where it’s also not likely to rub off. Do you have a bag that is always with you including backstage at performances? You could tie a reminder note around the straps. Where you have a locker, you can put a Post-it note on the inside of the door.
      Remembering to drink water is probably complicated in your case by:
      1. Being on tour because it means you have constantly changing locations for practices, rehearsals and performances, not to mention you are living in a hotel room instead of your apartment. That is why having the same bag with you at all times full of essentials and reminder notes would be so helpful. I’m sorry I don’t know much about what you have backstage with you at a performance. I hope you at least have little storage lockers for your valuables.
      2. Considerations of when it’s possible to have bathroom breaks. It would be very understandable for someone in your situation to avoid drinking because one might not want to feel the urge to go in the middle of a rehearsal or performance. I’ve always found that when one is producing adrenaline, the body’s immediate bodily athletic needs are prioritized, and therefore signals like hunger and normal bathroom urges are less likely. (Keeping in mind that our physiology has evolved over millions of years to have “fight, flight or freeze“ reactions to danger. Although we consciously know that a rehearsal or performance is not “dangerous“, feeling even the slightest bit hyped up, nervous or anxious will engage the same physiological reaction. Actually, in an intensely dangerous situation, it happens that animals, including humans, lose control of their bladder and bowels because the body wants to get rid of nonessential functions like digestion in order to provide maximum energy for fight or flight, since the most important instinct of every living being is survival. That also explains the “nervous pee” urge many people have before a performance or public speaking or something.)
      I don’t know what your rhythmic gymnastics coaches were like, but I’ve been appalled when watching documentaries on Russian training, where they do not allow the girls to drink water at all during the day at practice. One of the girls who trained at Vaganova said the same thing. This is very harmful. If you were trained to have the belief you should not have water at practice, or during a break in your performance, that will be another mental barrier you will have to overcome.
      Since you have certainly felt the negative effects of dehydration, and how much better you feel when you do drink water periodically, that mental barrier will probably be quite easy to conquer! 💧

    I had been wondering why you keep your apartment so cold, but I just read a news article about the cost-of-living crisis in the UK. I guess that's what sweaters and blankets are for! Also, in the US, I think every hotel has a mini-fridge in the room. For future vlogs, maybe you could show us a little of your pre-travel prep, like packing, etc, and maybe a theater tour?
    I've been meaning to say this... Those swan headpieces are hideous! Are those easier to wear than just plain wings on their own?
    Get some rest!

    3/
    Regarding overthinking when you are tired: compartmentalization may be the answer: a "form of psychological defense mechanism in which thoughts and feelings that seem to conflict are kept separated or isolated from each other in the mind."
    This basically involves:
    1. Learning to identify your thought patterns, deciding which thoughts you are going to keep and what you're going to put away for later or discard completely,
    2. along with positive self talk. And
    3. the knowledge that your physical exhaustion is causing your brain to start offering up these thoughts, that there's nothing wrong with your brain, that it's normal for it to do that when you're physically exhausted. But it's nothing to worry about. That once you've had enough food and drink and your nutritional needs are met, you will feel better already.
    Remember:
    1. "An empty stomach breeds imagination."
    2. "Night changes many thoughts."
    There is lots of information online to get much more detailed descriptions, or if you would like me to provide examples let me know! ❤

    Being a dancer myself, i have a question that I have been pondering about for a bit: You seem to be doing different characters/ dances for each show. How does that work? Does every dancer know each part of the show, so you can just switch out? Or do you have a set cycle in which you take turns playing the different characters? Super curious.

    • @HannahMartinRG
      @HannahMartinRG  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, there are several of us cast in each role and we all get a chance to perform them in each venue. It gives everyone a chance to recover between more demanding roles and it also keeps it interesting for the dancers who do similar roles each night. I really enjoy doing a variety of roles.
