Really awesome guys, I'm so glad that Pep has officially joined you Rodney. You guys work so well together, and your videos are very fun! Bloopers were a great finish too!
Congrats on reaching over 100k subscribers :) Love your videos, you have a real easy way of explaining all sorts of games. You do it brilliantly, as does your son! I tend to research my games before I buy them, and then again once I have bought it and read the rules, just to make sure I have understood correctly. You have a perfect mix of playing and explaining rules to board games and you always have that winning smile throughout. Well done and thanks.
7:35: It's an open debate whether Rome mostly fell because the empire grew unmanageable or because of civil wars, but it's hard to argue the Gauls, Germans, etc were anything more than the guy nailing the coffin shut. (You know, ignoring the Eastern Roman Empire. The Ottomans got to nail _that_ coffin.)
I hope the creator comes in and confirms it's a quantum fruit that is both tomato and apple at the same time until observed, at which point it takes on the specific identity assigned by the observer, making you both right.
Normally i got 130-200 points per each game. Then I saw that I can't count points after build locations (I count 2 points for build faction and 1 point for other). In the end of game i recounted them again so I had personal record 221 points. But now when I play by rules i have max 122 points. How can be possible to get 190+ points? Some players said that they got it. I started to get more points in last round but until 4 round i have max 10 points (before i had around 50 points before 4 round ends). How can be it possible?
I really enjoy the clarity of your explanations and the way you convey information with real clarity. Are you guys going to make it over to the UK for the UKGE in three weeks? Also wondering if you've played 51st state and which you prefer of the two?
I won't be at the UK Expo, but I hope to be at SPiel for the first time this year. Yes, we've played 51st State, you can find our How To Play video here: th-cam.com/video/tePeV10twKM/w-d-xo.html As for which I prefer, I avoid reviewing on the channel, so I can't help with that. I talk a bit about that here: th-cam.com/video/p0Lv8LHadMc/w-d-xo.html&t=10m55s
Great playthrough guys: really enjoyed the jokes along way too. I am still a little confused about how many actions we can take per turn? I noticed in the first video, one of you built an action card and immediately payed the goods to activate it. Is this allowed, or is paying to build the action location the only action you can take for that turn? Thanks guys :)
Hey Jake, glad you've been enjoying :) We do have a full tutorial for this, and that will go through all the rules and how to play, if you have any questions: th-cam.com/video/K66BCYMuqwQ/w-d-xo.html
Great play through, thank you! One question...For action cards you can "activate twice", I've always played that you have to do that on different turns...not the same one. Noticed you activated twice at the same time...was that for speed of play, or is that the right way to play? Thanks for all the work you put into these, love them!
Its not an apple..its not a tomato , it is NOT FOOD...it's a piece of wood painted red in the form of an....apple....or tomato.....or...well I dont know :P I always call them tomatoes because they are red, and apples can also be green...which tomatoes can also be...hmmm but tomatoes don;t have small leaves and apples have (most of the time).. So with that said...I think it's Tomato Shaped Wood :D
I wonder if your playthroughs would be more fun if you actually do it in one go regardless bloopers etc. :) I mean for instructional video that wouldn't be very good because you don't want to make mistakes, but playthrough is more casual I feel.
The majority of the breaks are for changing camera angles, setting up shots etc - so one take isn't really an option. That said, I'm really keen on keeping the videos as concise as possible, so that drives my desire to edit it down to the shortest viewing time with hopefully the maximum engagement for you as a viewer.
The newest TableTop with Wil Wheaton gave Watch It Played a shout out - congrats on being one of the best TH-cam channels covering boardgames!
David Burse ya that shout out is why I am here. Glad I found this channel now I have alot of videos to catch up on.
Very nice to have you join us, and very kind of Wil to give us a nod!
That was really neat of him to do - it was fun seeing he'd pick up on one of my little catch phrases :)
which episode?
Really awesome guys, I'm so glad that Pep has officially joined you Rodney. You guys work so well together, and your videos are very fun! Bloopers were a great finish too!
Thanks Matthew - Pep had been saving those bloopers as he was editing :)
Blooper reel at the end was amazing!
I love the bloopers at the end.
We don't like to do these too often, but sometimes we have a strong of silliness that feels like it'd be fun to share :)
Congrats on reaching over 100k subscribers :)

That's so very kind of you to say Ross - thanks for the wonderful encouragement!
I'd passed on this due to theme, so I never looked too closely. But you two make it look fun!
Congrats on 100,000 subs Rodney and Pep!
Thanks ZIppity. Very nice to have you all here!
I thoroughly enjoyed this series. Keep up the great work, guys!
Thanks so much!
LOL, Love the bloopers at the end. Really enjoy your play through videos. =o)
It's a Pomegranate.
Tomatoes originated in the New World. They would've been unknown outside the Americas in the time of Ancient Rome. It's probably an apple.
Trying to win this argument with facts? Barbarians don't care for facts!!
Ok, then BAR BAR BAR BAR BAR!
Plus when tomatoes were discovered many people thought they were poisonous.
fantastic come back! I can't wait to get this game
I knew I was building towards a big finish, but I wasn't sure if it was going to be enough!
The gag reel.. best part.
Great playthrough! One of your best victories Rodney.
Glad you enjoyed Rick :)
its an apple in the first edition, but they changed it to a tomato in the 2nd edition
No, but that was a funny idea :)
question: at 6:50 you use the Dark Chapel to raze the pig farmer and get 4 points. Shouldn't it only be 2 since the person isn't a "good"?
Workers aren't Resources, but they are considered Goods (that's something defined in the rule book, but I can see how it would be easy to confuse).
Wow, what a comeback!
I was hoping that building to a big final turn would pay off, but I was unsure.
I'd go with Rodney's "Tomapple" from an earlier episode :-D
Very diplomatic :)
That, and I like goofy words :-D

I would accept that!
Waiting for +IgnacyTrzewiczek to comment on the tomato vs Apple issue

Very hard for me to try to assess what's possible for a score when there are so many different combinations of cards.
@@WatchItPlayed Yeah this is reason why this game is so excellent :) I have all extensions and all are great too.
Congratulations, Rodney! Pep, you need to play a game with dice - the results would be very different, I am sure :)
So true :)

The rules state that you can choose to do both in one action, or over two separate actions. Hope that helps!
Thx :)
the curse of the Tomapples
Ha!
It's not an apple or a tomato. It's a food piece.
David Davison they said that in the video, but what is that food piece's shape? Is what they're asking.

It's quite the quandary!
Nice. 13 views after only 26 seconds...
It's an apple, romans didn't grow tomatoes.

Europe didn´t have tomatoes... so
Yeah, but still... ;)

But are you REALLY sure? ;)
