Forest-ella is the winner of Phantom Singer II which is the Korean TV show to organize a quartet by taking auditions mainly for opera singers and musical actors. It’s also interesting that Hyungho hadn’t been trained classically, but became one of the members who won that season. Most of the amazing performances from that show are not available outside of Korea because of copyright issue. That’s why some people are misunderstanding and confused about Chinese tv show suspected of plagiarizing Phantom Singer, since it was premiered 2 years earlier than Chinese Super Vocal season 1.

Before he participated, he worked as a chemistry researcher, but after his debut he moved on to a singer. Super Vocal plagiarized both the format and the music of the Phantom Singer, and for this, jtbc filed a lawsuit against a Chinese broadcasting company. Unfortunately, Super Vocal damaged the Phantom Singer's copyright. Phantom Singer aired before Super Vocal.

Forestella are major stars in S. Korea. Their talent (together and individually) knows no bounds as you will soon see. The members are (L to R): Woo-rim - bass (basso profondo), age 27, university trained in classical and crossover. He originally wanted to be an opera singer Hyung-ho - tenor, countertenor, soprano, age 34. He is a research chemist and had a rock band named Pitta all through college. He always wanted to be a rock singer. He has an individual channel (Pitta) that shows off his rock talent! Min-kyu - tenor and founder of the group, age 32. He is university trained and is a leggiero tenor. Doo-hoon - tenor, age 36. He is a professional actor with a voice trained in the theater. They perform in many genres and assist in arranging all of their songs. They also sing in many different languages and study each to insure that the pronunciations are perfect. Just keep them coming!

Another thing to remember is that they speak Korean, not English. Even if you were to go to Korea, it would be difficult to see them live. Their shows sell out in under 5 minutes. :)

It is very difficult to bring out the mood of each genre of song, but I think I was able to express it perfectly because four people with unique and different singing styles came together. For me this version is the best version. Their music knows no limits. I'm sure you'll be amazed the more you listen to Forestella's music. Their talents do not end here, so please look forward to them. I recommend ‘Time in a Bottle’ and ‘je suis malade’ as the next song.

I was there! It was my first time seeing them in live. Their live singing was perfect even better than any recording. But I am always surprised they bring the perfection more polished every time. Also, Popera Kang Hyung-wook is a genius musician discovered in the underground who used to be a physics researcher.
Your information has so many errors..but thank you for your intetest and support for Forestella. Only 2 of them (Ko WooRim and Cho MinGyu) major in classical vocal in SNU, Bae DooHoon majors in acting in Korea National University of Arts. Kang HyungHo majored in chemical engineering at Busan National University and joined a rock band in his uni. HH was working as a research chemist when he auditioned at Phantom Singer 2. HH already had been singing as a rock vocalist in his amateur rock band for 10 years at that point.
Surprisingly each member of Forestella has genius talent. In Korea Seoul National University is considered as the best. SNU sent students to international classical vocal concours in Toulouse and 4th grader got 1st Grand-prix, 3rd grader got 2nd prize and Ko WooRim was one of the semi-finalists as a 2nd grader. Cho MinGyu has unbroken-yet record for the youngest joined member in Seoul Metropolitan opera. MG was one of semi-finalists in the international councours in Montréal. Aside of great singing technique, MG showed clear vision for crossover music and genius talent at producing members he drafted while Phantom Singer 2 audition was ongoing. Bae DooHoon prepared only for less than 6 months and passed the entering test of his uni which is extremely hard to succeed at the first try. DH was one of the semi-finalists from Voice Korea 2 and was working as a musical actor when he auditioned at PS2. DH experienced KukAk (Korean traditional music) fusion band and has good sense of producing and presentation. Pitta band (Kang HyungHo) won the Grand-prix in the Workers' band contest in Busan with his killer repatoire the Phantom of the Opera duet by himself. HH got promoted while the audition was ongoing and wrote 3 papers even he was taking a leave from his company. HH quit his research chemist job with his colleagues blessing, on the day of his resignment other 3 of Forestella went the company together and presented fabulous stage for celebration.
What I wanna say is..no one of Forestella wasn't like escaped from his field where he wasn't good enough. Each could live successfully in where he had been. But as we see, they became like they are meant to be together. All members are so dedicating to the group more than individual work, they are the biggest fans of each other as well. They support the member's solo work and the solista misses members alot. I love their strong bond as well as their genius talent.
They were individual competitors on a survival elimination show called "Phantom Singer" whose goal was to create a crossover vocal quartet like II Divo. They compete 1 v. 1, then the survivors move on to recruit for duos, then trios... and finally the Quartet. The guy 2nd from the right (Mingyu) won every round and that gave him the chance to recruit the others. Left to right Woorim - Classically trained Basso Profundo Hyungho - Rock Countertenor (zero training until he joined the group) Mingyu - Leader and Classically trained Leggiero Tenor (he and Woorim went to the same school) Doohoon - Musical Theater Actor, Baritenor They are lightning in a bottle. The show has turned out several great quartets, but none have the widespread appeal of Forestella. They continue to enter competitions, put out albums and even toured N. America last year. They intend to keep performing, but they are a man down for the next year+ as their Bass, Woorim, completes his Mandatory Military service. They have done everything from their original K-pop song, "Kool", to their new rock waltz, "Snow Globe" (which seems to be a fanciful retelling of them coming together as a team). They don't believe in genres and fear no style of song. Outstanding live performances to check out, Lazenca, Save Us (From the Space Rock Opera), Legends Never Die, Hijo de la Luna, Time in a Bottle, Bad Romance, Ju Suis Malade, Gondre Mandre (Dead Drunk), and Despacito. For an extra treat, check out Kang Hyungho's "Phantom of the Opera" audition (he sings both The Phantom and Christine's parts), or Cho Mingyu's "Balada de la Trompeta".
The most impressive part of this Forestella version is the arrangement, although the vocal performances are amazing. Bohemian Rhapsody was constructed in the studio, as a wild scientist experiment by Freddie and the engineers. After it became a signature song, Queen carried a 24 track tape machine on tour with them (actually two of them, one as a backup) to play the tracks for the live performance for this song (and others). So for Forestella to arrange the song to be sung live with four main vocals is an _extremely_ difficult thing to do. It was not composed to be sung live from beginning to end. They transformed this song from studio rock to live musical theater, essentially.

I was there! It was my first time seeing them in live. Their live singing was perfect even better than any recording. But I am always surprised they bring the perfection more polished every time. I saw them singing this song in the open air yesterday and still gave me shiver even though I've listened this song more than thousand times.

Kang HyungHo majored in chemical engineering at Busan National University and joined a rock band in his uni. HH was working as a research chemist when he auditioned at Phantom Singer 2. HH already had been singing as a rock vocalist in his amateur rock band for 10 years at that point.
Surprisingly each member of Forestella has genius talent. In Korea Seoul National University is considered as the best. SNU sent students to international classical vocal concours in Toulouse and 4th grader got 1st Grand-prix, 3rd grader got 2nd prize and Ko WooRim was one of the semi-finalists as a 2nd grader. Cho MinGyu has unbroken-yet record for the youngest joined member in Seoul Metropolitan opera. MG was one of semi-finalists in the international councours in Montréal. Aside of great singing technique, MG showed clear vision for crossover music and genius talent at producing members he drafted while Phantom Singer 2 audition was ongoing. Bae DooHoon prepared only for less than 6 months and passed the entering test of his uni which is extremely hard to succeed at the first try. DH was one of the semi-finalists from Voice Korea 2 and was working as a musical actor when he auditioned at PS2. DH experienced KukAk (Korean traditional music) fusion band and has good sense of producing and presentation.
Pitta band (Kang HyungHo) won the Grand-prix in the Workers' band contest in Busan with his killer repatoire the Phantom of the Opera duet by himself. HH got promoted while the audition was ongoing and wrote 3 papers even he was taking a leave from his company. HH quit his research chemist job with his colleagues blessing, on the day of his resignment other 3 of Forestella went the company together and presented fabulous stage for celebration.

What I wanna say is..no one of Forestella wasn't like escaped from his field where he wasn't good enough. Each could live successfully in where he had been. But as we see, they became like they are meant to be together. All members are so dedicating to the group more than individual work, they are the biggest fans of each other as well. They support the member's solo work and the solista misses members alot. I love their strong bond as well as their genius talent.

They were individual competitors on a survival elimination show called "Phantom Singer" whose goal was to create a crossover vocal quartet like II Divo. They compete 1 v. 1, then the survivors move on to recruit for duos, then trios... and finally the Quartet. The guy 2nd from the right (Mingyu) won every round and that gave him the chance to recruit the others.

They are lightning in a bottle. The show has turned out several great quartets, but none have the widespread appeal of Forestella.
They continue to enter competitions, put out albums and even toured N. America last year. They intend to keep performing, but they are a man down for the next year+ as their Bass, Woorim, completes his Mandatory Military service.
They have done everything from their original K-pop song, "Kool", to their new rock waltz, "Snow Globe" (which seems to be a fanciful retelling of them coming together as a team). They don't believe in genres and fear no style of song.
Outstanding live performances to check out, Lazenca, Save Us (From the Space Rock Opera), Legends Never Die, Hijo de la Luna, Time in a Bottle, Bad Romance, Ju Suis Malade, Gondre Mandre (Dead Drunk), and Despacito. The most impressive part of this Forestella version is the arrangement, although the vocal performances are amazing. Bohemian Rhapsody was constructed in the studio, as a wild scientist experiment by Freddie and the engineers. After it became a signature song, Queen carried a 24 track tape machine on tour with them (actually two of them, one as a backup) to play the tracks for the live performance for this song (and others). So for Forestella to arrange the song to be sung live with four main vocals is an _extremely_ difficult thing to do. It was not composed to be sung live from beginning to end. They transformed this song from studio rock to live musical theater, essentially.
Ah all of that just makes this song so so impressive!!! Wow!!
I think, you should listen champion and save our loves. You will be out of this world.
