    "Breaking the Mold" is the perfect way to put it. This is truly a remarkable structure. The logistics of the architecture, engineering, and construction would boggle the mind. Fine video. Thank you.

    I think there is one issue about this stadium, it doesn't have any public transit system whatsoever for people to come here without a car. Like much of the DFW suburbs, Arlington doesn't have a public transit system at all. Imagine having a tram stop or a rail station that people from the east or west to arrive and enjoy the facility.

    • @jaylucien669
      @jaylucien669 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Arlington is largest city in the country without mass transit. Which is ridiculous seeing as they're the tourism epicenter of the entire Metroplex. There is a way to get there on gamedays via the TRE and special gameday only busses. But it's a pain in the ass from what i've heard.

    • @djtrankilo231
      @djtrankilo231 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      To be fair, the DFW area isn't exactly crammed in like bigger cities like Chicago or New York are, so traffic flow isn't exactly as horrible as those cities or like LA or Miami. I went to the Thanksgiving game last year and my hotel was in the outskirts. Granted, I took an Uber from my hotel to the stadium and traffic wasn't completely horrible (despite the construction) till my driver pulled in near the stadium (probably because it was Thanksgiving). But it wouldn't surprise me if JerryWorld hosts the the 2026 World Cup Final, despite having MANY international fans attending not knowing anything about the DFW.

      Compared with Germany these cities have a very good public transport systems, and the Amtrak trains and stations were also far better in service in punctuality than their German counterparts.
      But aside from Chicago, the Midwest and Texas will be a car issue.

    And to think, this thing was built for "only" $1.2 billion. If they were building it now, you're looking at $5.5 billion *easy!*
    Smart to build stadiums in recessions (2009) vs. building them in a time of crippling inflation (2023).

    • @taylorb7191
      @taylorb7191 ปีที่แล้ว

      I live in Dallas and couldn’t disagree more. It’s far away, so getting to it is a pain. There are something like 6 or 7 decks of luxury boxes, so the upper deck is the highest of high nosebleeds I’ve ever been to. It also provides almost no home field advantage for the Cowboys, as it’s cavernous feel just doesn’t retain noise well at all.

      @@taylorb7191 Well, that's not Jerry's fault, it was supposed to be where Fair Park is but the politicians at the time wouldn't budge so he took the team to Arlington instead. Can't blame him either, Fair Park and that general area is still a mess to this day and that discussion happened like 2 decades ago. Dallas politicians screwed us out of having our team close, not Jerry. And have you never taken a tour of the facility!? I highly recommend it. It's an amazing stadium, you should give it a chance!

    It’s soulless and corporate as someone who grew up primarily as a college football fan; the food is the perfect blend of overpriced while remaining mediocre at best too. Better pay that $55 for parking (last time I went) or risk it in the bad neighborhoods in all directions.
    At least they managed to fix the acoustics that made it impossible to hear anything when it first opened.
