Agreed. So many great performances! This performance as Stansfield, Dracula, Winston Churchill, Jim Gordon, Mason Verger, Zorg, Drexl. The list goes on nearly forever.
This vacant look he has in his eyes for a glimpse of a second while he looks slightly to the side at 1:31 is just brilliant...dude can express more with his eyes than some actors with their whole body
' its always the same thing , its when you start to become really afraid of death that you learn to apricate life ' 'Do you like life sweet hart ? - ' yes' 'That's good ' ' Because I take no pleasure in taking life , if its from a person who doesn't care about it ' ... this line alone has to be the most chilling line in any movie made, the whole scene was chilling Oldman face expressions his tone though when he dropped that line things good even more cold and dark , seeing it for the first I whispered wo. Oldman is such a great actor he can become the person he is playing and you believe he is really like that.
My favorite performance by Gary Oldman. He made Stansfield so scary but mysterious at the same time. I also loved him as Jim Gordon in Batman and Sirius Black in Harry Potter 3.
1:07 This case has FIVE pineapple lollies. I asked to have FOUR LOLLIES in it! Not one or two or three, but four! Four lollies! What the hell am I supposed to do with an extra lolly?
I liked this character. He was scary and disturbed and vicious but he wasn’t completely heartless and insane. He could have killed Matilda but he didn’t. Bait or not he could have done a lot worse to her, but he chose to just have her sit safely in the office lol not what I was expecting.
I lost all respect for Portman when she tried to distance herself from being a part of this film. Saying she was too young. Just so she could be a part of this metoo movement. This film and her performance is a masterclass. ❤
To be fair, the director hooked up with an underage girl and then married her. He wanted this to be more of that kind of film, but Luc point blank refused. I can see why she wants to skip over this film, from that point of view.
Personally think this is one of his worst performances, total over the top scenery chewing ham work from start to finish and a completely out of the box unbelievable character throughout as a result.
Me: Everyone agrees that Gary Oldman is one of the best actors of his generation
My friend: What do you mean everyone?
Me: 4:52
😂😂😂
He is EVERYONE
Has to be one of Gary’s best performances! The guy is an incredible actor.
Very nice acting, and badass.
Agreed. So many great performances! This performance as Stansfield, Dracula, Winston Churchill, Jim Gordon, Mason Verger, Zorg, Drexl. The list goes on nearly forever.
Every performance is one of Gary’s best performances 🙌
He makes Denzel from Training Day look like a boy scout. My favorite movie villain
😂
Tampoco te pases denzel hace un papelón compañero por eso le dieron el Óscar por si se te olvida.
Probably the best villain in filmhistory😊😅
When he bites through the capsule is an iconic piece of cinema. He knows what it is gonna bring to him.
This vacant look he has in his eyes for a glimpse of a second while he looks slightly to the side at 1:31 is just brilliant...dude can express more with his eyes than some actors with their whole body
I have to rewatch this film immediately. So effing good.
Gary Oldman is such a brilliant actor,, so versatile.
Gary Oldman was also equally disturbing in True Romance but this is his best role by far.. One of my nations best actors ever

Man, they both acted phenomenally.
Gary Oldman is incredibly talented.

One THE best performances in films, Gary Oldman could play a boulder convincingly if he wanted to but in this role he just blows it away
Hes good in everything, he was very good in State of Grace as well as Fifth Element
French movies like this are amazing
+top tier camera work and editing
I love Gary Oldman in this movie.
Gary was OUT THERE in this one... LOL
You can watch this movie several times!! Never gets boring any minute! Never!! 😊😅❤
"Everyone" he was frightening in this.🇿🇦😮
Dracula, Winston Churchill, Drexel, Commissioner Gordon, Norman Stansfield... God made ONE.
My favorite performance by Gary Oldman. He made Stansfield so scary but mysterious at the same time. I also loved him as Jim Gordon in Batman and Sirius Black in Harry Potter 3.
A living superlative. Can't be touched or fvcked with. Amazing talent.
Legend
Both Gary AND Norman 💀
This very simple Gary Oldman is one the best that film is very lucky to have!
MY FAVOURITE VILLAIN
OF ALL TIME
STANSFIELD
レオンのゲイリー・オールドマンが好きです。私と同年代と知り感激です🎉
the best "everyone" in movie history
Norman is a boss 🤘
Yesh, the most famous EVERYONE
Amazing performance!
В этом фильме Гарри Олдман не был, пьян и не был под наркотой, он был полностью трезвый, вот это талант.👍👍
Он бухал по черному в тот период если я не ошибаюсь)
Best movie ever
One the best films ever…all the acting and a young Natalie Portman.
Gary's at his most unhinged and self indulgent in this, but always very watchable
ゲイリー・オールドマンは主役を喰ってしまうパワーがあります🎉😮
I was thinking “fuck, that was really 21 years ago?”, then realised it was 31 years ago🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦

Such a terrific acting 👏🏻 great film 🍿
My all time favourite movie
scary villain, psychotic and impredicable
Stansfield what a great character - lost grip with reality and vice yet still functioning but only at 30%
1:17 GARY OLDMAN IS PSYCHO ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🤎🤎🤎🤎💚💚💚💚💜💜💜💜💛💛💛💛💙💙💙💙🩵🩵🩵
Even his own crew have their hands full trying to control him 😂and are also afraid of him due to his erratic behaviour .
He is f….ng a legend
He was good in Robocop too...

He would kill her if Leon didn't save her.
He was about to kill her but, he decided not to. Because he needed to pull out of her more information about Leon.
Love Oldman, but jeeze he was close to Tod Slaughter territory in this!
Bring me everyone!!!
Watch "Book of Eli" I like him that movie to.
Love that movie
made his way through the ranks and became commissioner of gotham

@Entropy__ That's not how she explained it, however. That's what I'm talking about
and she had every right to do that, she was indeed way too young to play in this movie, who even are you to give your opinion??
@douwantacupoftea1122 you're a moron, respectfully. ❤️
@douwantacupoftea1122 exactly. They should have cast a little person for the role. That would have worked out great.
What is up with gary’s ability to play serious psychopaths
Oh, I think he could nail any kind of role. It's just that he got typecasted a lot.
Not such a serious psychopath in this
@2:35 he slipped back into Mickey Flannery.
Jackie Flannery.
@ yes. My mistake
Hmm... for this kinda work he's a little light, so I tend to go for the heavier guys.
This is from Matilda

I still don't understand what is that drug that u bite on, and it gives u that kind of sensation.

Bloody hell never knew Bex met Joe Head 😆
great movie
I thought he was shite in this. Over acting and completely unbelievable. Ruined the film

Lies.
@@LexingtonDeville984 I'm guessing you don't actually know what the word 'lies' means then.
I admit he's very cartoonish but I think that was makes him so memorable.
It's meant to be unbelievable in that Charles Manson type way...some people don't get it 😂
EVERYONE !!!!!!!!
