Is this one of the latest Kindles? If yes, they removed the option to download books via 'transfer&download'. See one of my latest videos on this issue/change.
Loved your video - very clear instructions but it doesn't work. Followed every step, one by one. Still will not remove DRM. Any hints or sources for troubleshooting?
Hi Patrick, sorry to hear the steps didn't work. Based on comments, it seems people have mixed results but the process still works for me. That being said, I suspect Amazon may be implementing newer/different DRM protections to newer books. I assume you purchased the affected book and not using borrowed books via Kindle Unlimited? Could you try other purchased books; are they also failing? I also have an older video where I use older version of 'Kindle for PC' app, download book via the app and upload it to Calibre+DRM plugin. You could review that option and see if it gives a better result. I hope this helps!
I've tried this 3 different ways and Amazon has gotten wise to all of them. I've loaded older versions of Kindle and the plugins, and Amazon lets me see and use the older version, but won't let me open any of my books until I upgrade to the current version. And many books (current ones) have better protections for Calibre and won't convert/strip.
Give me a title of the Amazon book that you cannot remove DRM from (sth. inexpensive) and I will test it. Steps from this video still work for me but indeed they may not work for all the books.
I am moving from iPhone to Samsung and going to use Kindle for reading moving forward. How can I move the ibooks-bought books to Kindle? nothing seems working :(
Hi Charlie, there is a lot of articles written for DRM Removal but those are related to non-Apple books i.e. Adobe DRM, Kindle, Barnes & Noble etc. Apple has a special FairPlay DRM, so books purchased from iBooks Store will not work with those tools. 1-2 years ago there were tools that worked e.g. Requiem and calibre, but that software was discontinued/no support etc., so now there is no software that removes the FairPlay DRM that I am aware of.
Also accessibility. For me it's much easier to listen to the books as read out by a text-to-speech voice. That I can't do that straight from the Kindle book
Well downloaded this tool and calibre says it CANNOT remove DRM. My old PC has instaled old version of this tool and it says it CANNOT remove - in the past it could. Any help?

@@howtotechstuff Yes it’s a colorsoft, and the older 10th gen kindle basic. I will look at some of your newer videos, thanks.
No nowwures. I also have more recent video on how to remove DRM, another good method if you have a Windows machine 👍. All the best and good luck.
No option of "download & transfer via USB"
Good point. I'm making the next video on a software features we'd all like to see in Kindle (wishlist). This is one of them.
Works as of Nov 2024 with Kindle Oasis.
Well downloaded this tool and calibre says it CANNOT remove DRM. My old PC has instaled old version of this tool and it says it CANNOT remove - in the past it could. Any help?
¡Magnifico! Me has sacado de un apuro. Muchísimas gracias. 🤗🤗
Great video that's simple and straightfoward. Thank you!
Thank you Trey!
Does this work for Apple purchased books in iBooks? I followed all the steps and it is not working. Please, can you assist on what I am doing wrong?
Looks like Apple is smarter. I haven‘t found a way.
Perfecto, muchas gracias por su ayuda. Después de leer mucho y ver videos inútiles, finalmente este ha sido de gran ayuda y funcional al 100%.
I did it! Thank you so much! 🇧🇷
Thank you. Well done! A last help. If I have a PC Kindl app where I find the serial number?
Thank you
does it work on apple books?
Great stuff but how do I get my nook epubs to download to my computer and add them to calibre?
I need to buy a kindle to get the serial number. How old does it have to be for dedrm to work?
Hi Nathan, I've recently released a video for a DRM removal without the need for Kindle serial number. Have you tried that? If not check the pinned comment on this video OR check in one of my latest videos. Hope it helps!
Great video, thank you, but I am curious if you have a workaround on how to read Apple Book purchases on a kindle?
This was wonderfully helpful. Thank you!!! Sep 2024

I have an ebook from Amazon that is DRM protected and I need it in PDF format...
Hi Miriam, thanks for leaving your comment. The process in the video requires a Kindle serial number. I'm looking into a way to do it without it; will make a video once I figure it out. Please subscribe to keep up to date 👍
I have the same problem! I have kindle books but I don't have a kindle so I can't download them :(
You saved my life, sir.
I sincerely appreciate your help and kindness.

Does not work with kfx zip DRM files in callibre. Can you help with this?
Great. Works fine. Thank You so much.
It does not work for the latest version of LCP DRM!
The instructions in the video tell me to add the elink device serial #. I do not use an elink device. I only use the Windows PC and Kindle desktop ebooks (which has a serial number already there). In preferences, there is an option for MAC/PC ebooks. How do I remove the DRM with Windows Desktop?
It doesn't seem to work for Adobe E-Books, do you have any suggestion by any chance?
Hello, I own a Kindle, But I still get a DRM error. Please help
Hi, try my latest video on DRM removal.
you saved my day!
How can nook ebooks be downloaded for this purpose of backing up or loading onto other readers?
is it safe converting an azw3 (utorrent acquired) on calibre that has my kindle serial number? thanks!
Yes, it is. Nothing bad will happen as long as the downloaded file is not a virus/spyware/corrupted.
@ thank you!
l need a way to convert ACSM book to PDF and be able to open it without Adobe digital edition
How can I download if I don't have a kindle device? I use an IPad
Hi, I'm currently working on a video that would allow to remove DRM without Kindle device. Will release it in the next 2 weeks. Subscribe to channel to get notified 👍
Thanks for this.
@howtotechstuff can you remove DRM from Follett Brytewave textbooks using the red shelf reader?
