40s and 50s New York to me. I mean, every great gangster movie that passed in NY was set arround the 50s. I'm not talking about the movie year of release but the time of the narrative.
what beautiful time it was to be alive no drama of modern political shit, the vibe of 1980 especially miami is something else....FK if only i had a time machine
I thought I was the only one who still has mind of a child but after seeing the comments I have realized that everyone has the same mind as me. Really, GTA Vice City is the LOVE and LIFE❤
My parents were in their 20s in the 80s and they described the Miami which is where they lived, was wild and crazy but at the same time very nice to live in. I was born in 1994, and a few years later my parents moved us to Orlando and I grew up there ever since. I did come back and lived in South Florida for a couple years, but I absolutely hated it because it was not as described when I was growing up. Even though I like visiting, I can’t see myself ever living here again.
I was born in the early 80s in Miami - it was a great place as a kid but mid to late 90s it blew up and has never been the same. I hate what it's become. Look at the beach here for example. Or Bayfront. That's how I remember it. You could see the beach from the road and it was pretty quiet compared to now. Now you can't even drive down Collins and see the beach anymore, and when you do go to the beach its packed with no room, loud music, etc. It depresses the shit out of me to drive down there now. It's ruined.
Exactly. The wave of immigrants from Cuba, Mexico and Puerto Rico in the early 1980s, numbering over 100,000, resulted in a very high crime rate. So if you were an average eater there, you wouldn't have paradise there :)@@doneladio2206
My hometown.I can’t imagine a better place to live in the 80’s (graduated in 82).. It was the best 💕. I moved away in 1990 but still have such fond memories.
I'm Irish and in Ireland we could dream and look on in amazement and awe .. I was their 3 months ago and spiritually I'm connected. I'm going their this September for miami vice reunion . Can someone recommend a nice place to stay ❤. Thanks
@@archangelirishfreedomfight3255 unless you enjoy the melee, I’d recommend staying in Coconut Grove which has great restaurants, bars, galleries and shopping, but is only a short drive to So Beach or downtown Miami (and only an hour from the upper Keys).
I think Miami lost that feeling that it gave in 1980, now it's just another modern beach, the closest thing to this Miami I think is Punta del Este in Uruguay
Punta Del Estate is nice. I've been to uruguay but it gets quite cold in winter. It doesnt have a tropical climate. Miami stands out as the only major city in America with a tropical climate which adds to its exoticity to the western eyes. But I would still pick Uruguay's climate over Florida. It's like California with an extra bit of rain.
I. Ron Nick I cant stand that tropical climate lol I love the scenery though. I spent a week in the Bahamas and man oh man. That is NOT for me lol way too humid
I love everything abt the 80s the cars, the way people dressed, and ik it was a totally different time compared to the 2000s with all this technology and internet, shit sucks wish I could’ve lived it🤷🏾♂️

Alp Uzun More like... New York City - 1970s, Miami - 1980s, and L.A. - 1990s. I've seen a lot of New Yorkers get nostalgic and reflect back on the 70's when the city was more sleazy, and plus the original World Trade Center was up at the time when it was introduced in 1973. It went downhill in 2001 for a lot of reasons, particularly 9/11.
Besides the skyline growing by leaps and bounds, the ships at the Port of Miami now are much bigger and carry three times or more the number of passengers. Time magazine called South Florida "Paradise Lost' because of the rising crime levels around 1980, but it is still paradise despite high crime, expensive real estate, crowded roads, and some really deranged inhabitants (like everywhere).
