The power of angles truly is trompe de loeil. Using the turnbuckle to effect shape is very clever. Art, gardening , woodwork and engineering - thanks Kevin and Peter.
Brilliant work and such an eye for Bonsai. 😊 You guys are absolutely right on this just changing the front or angle of a tree slightly makes the world of difference! I love hearing you two guys chat about bonsai. Thank you for sharing Peter.
Hi Really sorry to hear you had a breakin, really heartbreaking as your videos and of course your work is unique. Hopefully you recover the lost bonsai and the thieves are found and soon.
Nova Scotian here! Not often we hear of our little piece of land being mentioned, it was surprising! We do have some interestingly shaped wild trees here for sure.
Please can you do a video on how to do the re-potting when you are changing the angle of a tree so it sits correctly at the new angle in the pot. Many thanks :)
We need this lesson this morning in America. Hope changing the angle is enough . . . the current angle is bleak. I really love Kevin's repeated references to the actual landscape locations (lowlands, mountains, so forth) when discussing selection of position of a bonsai.

@peterchan3100 I apologize. This is not the place for politics. Let me finish by saying, Trump is not the problem, he is _only_ the President, Elect. No more of American politics. 🙏🏿😔🙏🏿
@@walterwjr947 Agreed and sorry I led you to the topic. Yesterday brought a demoralized awakening and looking for a way to move forward. No more . . . the end.
What advice does Kevin give at 12:45? Something along the lines of "cut the ... back in" I'm not a native speaker, so maybe I just don't know the word he's using. In any case, he seems to be a very skilled artist.
A very good video Peter. I notice that all of the trees were pines. larches or junipers. Would you say that you can also apply this technique to deciduous trees such as maples etc?
I am considering stopping by the nursery this july on my way back from Wales to Belgium. How is the accessibility and traffic around Herons? By that time I should have gotten used to driving on the left-hand side of the road, but I might aswell try to avoid rush hour. I was also wondering if it would still be possible to get out of the country with a lovely plant bought at Herons. I know that a plant passport would be required to get into the EU for example, but there might be other pestering measures I am unaware of. But even then, I am sure the visit alone will be well worth the detour. The nursery truly is a special place. I am looking forward to seeing it with my own eyes. Kind regards
After Brexit - taking plants to EU from UK is difficult. One of our friends took two small pines on EuroStar to Germany and the plants were destroyed by customs in Brussels when they changed trains.
i'd love to see a full sized tree (maybe 6-10ft) done with carving, jins etc and slanted to look like it has been stunted by growing on a mountain. I dont know if anyone has ever tried that
The carving on that Larch is exceptional. It's a work of sculpture in it's own right. The hollowing and rotation of the form is very beautiful.
That carving on the Larch was totally amazing.

Kevin has got to be one of the greatest worldwide in terms of vision and ability to pull off what he envisages
When two masters meet 😊, nice. Thx for sharing Peter and Kevin
Thank you Peter and Kevin for encouraging us to make such important decisions.

Hey Peter, I know that rain is good for bonsai but what if you have an organic mix? Thanks Mitchell

Maples are meant to be delicate and graceful trees and they dont look nice with carving

@peterchan3100 Good to know! Better not waste money and especially the life of a tree.
👍👌🙂
Sir Peter. Any words on those BonsaI Children yet? Hope someone taking care of them.
No the Police dont seem to be interested - Sad news is that we had a second theft last night !!!
