Wow, this is perfect! A real deal! Don't want to say that your four-hands playing with Paolo is somewhat less exciting or enjoyable (in fact, it is both, and I can't help loving it and listening it over and over again), but in that solo I recognize the sense of jazz itself, I hear the jazz in its original meaning, I hear the jazz as it was created and invented for free-minded people with the artistic skills and good taste. God bless you! Thanks.
That was wonderful Stephanie!! You have not only the dexterity, and the ability to play at such tempo, but that piece evidenced your keen sense of timing as a percussionist. Paolo said in one of your concerts how well you would play drums! Thank you!
I agree! The Piano Is a Percussion Instrument because it creates its sound by striking, so in a way, Stephanie is playing 'drums'. Not sure if people appreciate how impeccable her timing is and how strong her hands have to be to display such control.
Absolutely flawless performance Stephanie…it seems just a breeze to you ..such gifted talent ..Thanks a million for sharing this as always ..Have a wonderful week..Slainte from Bali..
Bravissimo! Wonderful performance of a piece I haven't heard since I was a kid. It was a favorite of a favorite aunt who was a good pianist. She would have applauded your excellence in stride piano too. More please!
Thank you Stephanie! I'm always amazed when you play this beautiful tune!! Looking forward to next Sunday seeing Paolo & you playing your next selection!!
we found you last night while looking for more good music on youtube. We are really looking forward to viewing all your videos and so enjoyed your playing. We are are pair of very old music lovers so you are a real treat the pair of you. May you never stop.
So fun to hear such great stride. Super entertainment and what great technique; this is what music in current day should be about. Entertainment. As most of you know, this "real" music is difficult and what a nice smile. Such grace at the keyboard. And thank you for the musical notes about the piece. Fans want to know that stuff. Thank you.
Thank you so much Stephanie! Your choice of tempo is always perfect , as well as your choices of great tunes! You make the sun come back in the middle of November!
Two and a half minutes of joy Stephanie. A great start to a Monday morning here in a rainy England. I love your solos, but think that after such a great start the rest of the day might be all down hill from now on! This is a tune that I have heard many times on a record of Big Band settings, but I have never heard it as a solo.
You may want to revise your description. Joe Sullivan originally recorded an early iteration of Little Rock Getaway in 1933. He recorded it again in 1935. He joined the Bob Crosby Orchestra in 1936 but left in December due to being diagnosed with tuberculosis. He rejoined the band in the summer of 1939 but left in September. Bob Zurke joined the Bob Crosby Orchestra in January 1937 and left in April of 1939. Sullivan's 1935 recording is the more familiar version on which the 1937 Bob Crosby Orchestra recording featuring Bob Zurke is based. For those who are interested, Sullivan's 1933 and 1935 recordings are posted on TH-cam: 1933 recording (mislabeled as 1934) th-cam.com/video/v4nOlSpt8UI/w-d-xo.html 1935 recording th-cam.com/video/sFzyqs34ty0/w-d-xo.html
Two small corrections to your description: the song was composed around 1933, and at that time Joe Sullivan used to collaborate with Bing Crosby. His association with Bob Crosby came a little later, around 1936. That said, Stephanie's rendition is magnificent. I hope someday you'll play your own version of another great Joe Sulllivan composition, "My Little Pride and Joy."
Please. More solo-performances like this. We miss you playing solo. Thank you so much
I agree !!
we all agree
First timer here......wow. Just fabulous!!
You're playing better than ever, and you were always great.
Spectacular stride by Stephanie!!!
OMG. I heard this song back when I was a kid with the Bob Crosby arrangement. Beautiful job !

Thanks so much for the links and the great info! We’ve changed the description… hopefully it’s more accurate now!
nice version, check out Keith Emerson's version with ELP

Thank you so much for the info and kind words! The description should reflect that now. Really appreciate it!
Often confused with Carolina Shout, for understandable reasons.
Don't like your hair like that... natural much better 😊
