I think it would have looked a little better if the bowls were positioned from the back so you could see the waterfall from the front but overall pretty neat little pond for goldfish 👍
Like your comment, it looks back to front. The bowls are in the wrong place, Intricate 45 degree cuts to the bricks at the back but simple butt up bricks joints at the front.
Thanks for the video. I'm looking to replace an older landscape timber section in front of the house with a pond much like this that will have two sections with one cascading into the other. Each section will be larger (around 10x12x3 feet. Did you install the inner ring of brick for structural integrity or aesthetics and what type of bonding material did you use for the blocks? BTW, I'm stealing this bowl idea. It looks great.
Hi Ralph, I love your work but I just had a couple of questions. What are the dimensions of that block paver and the manufacture, style and where to buy? The reason I ask is cause I’m trying to build a sidewalk with them block pavers but I need the info. Thanks it’s much appreciated.
What a beautiful build! Thank you for sharing. Does all of that concrete brick in the water throw off the PH of the water? I know it is big thing to watch out for in Aquaponics systems.
Why dont you use cement concrete inside since you already have block wall instead liner and another block wall inside, i just wonder what is the advantage? Thanks
Good question. I have done this a few times before at my own home and a bit higher with no issues. I would not go taller than this feature using this method. Plus I used a LOT of glue 💪
Another awesome build PondscapeAZ team congrats. This formal pond amazing, love the bowl placement. and the insert lighting is the cherry on top. Absolutely love it. Where can i get those external lights to buy.
Nice! I was thinking of doing a similar thing but for planting, no fish. I was going to use wood framing but the price of wood has gotten WAY out of hand. If I were to dry stack stone blocks like you did, how / what you use to 'glue' the stone blocks together?
I personally think the pond is in the wrong spot on the patio. Also, it would have been nice if the pond had a glass window built in. Also would like to know why the bowls were not placed on the backside.
great work! would it be possible not to put the skeleton stones in the side where the wall of the house is? that could made the size of the water in the pond bigger.
@@pondscapesaz thank you for replying. I didn’t think that would be safe for the fish. Are they sealed? If not, do you mind commenting about the PH of the pond?
@@LakesideQuiltmakingArts they are not sealed. Where we are located in Arizona we we typically have higher pH water. The homeowner has not had any issues with Fish health due to the concrete block
You didn't cement in the bricks? In time they're going to shift, move around, and that clean look is going to vanish. If going to go through the trouble, why not do a full sized pond with a looking glass side?
There are several variables that will determine the cost of a custom project. Feel free to give us a call if you want to discuss further. Pondscapes 480-987-7781
What do you use to keep the bricks from moving out of place? You said they're glued together. I'm not knowledged about building walls so Appreciate if you answer
That is a good question and extremely hard to answer. There are a lot of variables that will affect operation cost. The closest answer I could give you would be to factor in the wattage cost of the heaters you plan on using based on your daily kilowatt rate.
Can you please come to Oklahoma City and do that for me? :) It's beautiful and perfect!.... exactly what I have dreamed about having. Amazing job. :) Mark
My preference would have been to just have the pond liner inside without the inside blocks. A darker surface inside the pond and more water volume. Those bricks take up fish room in my opinion. It looks nice though.
You should never cut your lining till it’s filled with water , for anyone else that is considering this. That concrete will leach and play havoc on the ph of the pond till it’s moss and slime coated. It will be great eventually as it will raise the ph which tends to drop with koi.
the water pond is small compared with the the height and the brick flatform. it was ok until you put the brick in> i make my first pond design base on finabocci number and it gave me a relax feeling. this one is not relaxing since the ratio is way off
@@travisdt I guess if I was using the Fibonacci sequence then in theory this Pond would never be completed. I decided to use the common sense theory and build some thing that fit the space and desires of the customer.
Gluing blocks instead of cement. Must be pretty powerful stuff but how long will it last 🤔 Still surprises me the effort & expense people go to though just for gold fish. Koi i get it. But gold fish that could just as happily live in a bowl 🤷♂️ And why on earth pay to heat the water.
Wow! I love this formal pond. The fish will live happily ever after in it ❤

Really cool change from the norm
Looks perfect in that space what great craftsmanship

Very cool idea. Lighting adds so much ambience. Good job
Impressive job, looking great! Smart use of these concrete blocks, and creating a small overhang at the top. Thank you for showing!

beautiful above ground pond.

love how you managed to hide the liner

Cool job guys! Oh the fish will be soooo much happier in their water feature.
😊 👍🙌
So beautiful pond.
Wow it turned out so nice !

love it, thank you for my new pond idea
I love it. I was just thinking of making a similar thing to raise lotus and barramundi.
Those are some happy fish!! Love the design!

How are the fish doing? I feel like the water temps would be really high in the summer.
Water temps stay comfortable for the goldfish. Never gets direct sunlight.

I think more people will be inspired to do something like this. Supper cool way to have an outdoor aquarium.
Clean setup!!!

We always use liner, the interior block was to make it more aesthetically pleasing than just bare liner.
What a Beauty!! Great job!
🙌
Really nice! I’d like to finish the inside of my pond that way. How do you know what kind of pavers are fish safe?
Well cured, massive concrete blocks are fine for the fish :)
Most concrete block is fine. Just make sure to thoroughly wash the block down and acclimate the water before adding you fish. 👍
I wish u were in Florida. I would love for u to design and build a Japanese Koi Pond.
wheren't you afraid the pressure of the water will or would break the wall since it's only held by glue?

Thank you Tommy! 🙌
Braddah Ralph stunning great work!! Love it so clean stream line and very modern 🤙🏽♥️🐠🤙🏽
Thank you Mel!!
Beautiful product. Was there a functional reason for using construction adhesive over grout or was it an aesthetic choice?
I did not want to see grout between the joints.
Don't you have to worry about the pH changing because of the bricks? Are they acid washed like in a pool? Or is it concrete that creates the problem?
Have never had issues with this method.

What did you use to lock the blocks together
On this project, I used “construction adhesive” glue
What's glue to use to glue the blocks? Thanks
I now use Structure Bond foam adhesive. It is applied from the same type of foam gun as our waterfall foam. Drys faster and easier to apply.
Great build! So unique.

great work! would it be possible not to put the skeleton stones in the side where the wall of the house is? that could made the size of the water in the pond bigger.
Not in this scenario. You do not want the pressure of the water pressing up against this hollow wall.

Non-toxic construction adhesive
