The dad should point his gun at the door and kept monitoring the situaiton while waiting for the cops (who were already on their way and were only minutes away.) If the lock, or the door frame, gave in and the guy outside was about to barge in, the dad would be justified to open fire. But this never happened. The door was still holding up quite well at the moment the dad suddenly started shooting. Neither he nor his families were in immediate danger at that moment as the guy was still outside their house, separated from them by the door that was still effective in maintaining that separation. If the dad kept holding his ground without suddenly sccumbing to the unjustified urge to resort to violence, the police would have arrived soon and took the unarmed guy to custody, who most likely had some mental health issues. Nobody would have died and his house would not be tainted with the record of being a homocide scene. Now he has his 15 minutes of fame as a "hero". You cannot hold someone responsible for defending themselves. That is not right! I should know. The dad did the right thing. That boy had a chance to walk away and didn’t take it. Blame the boy
As a fellow, DV survivor and a person who is still stalked by that ex after 5+yrs of being apart. I agree, wholeheartedly with your comment. It's unnerving to think why some ppl don't move on. My ex constantly broke the restraining order when I had one. I fear the day I have to defend myself but I will. Until, you're actively defending yourself it's hard to relate to these situations.
I feel bad for the sister, but your brother sealed his own fate. You don't go bashing in some ones front door to "protect" them for a friend. Hopefully when her grief dies down she will understand how crazy that explanation is.
wow...i didn't know protect someone meant breaking into their house when they tell you to leave you're not welcome! I guess I missed that lesson growing up! lol
The sister saying her brother was there with good intentions is a huge red flag regarding her own mental state, she's probably mentally ill just like her brother.
It is amazing how people feelings override the realities of an event that takes place on video, clearly this man was protecting his family against an intruder and instead of the sister apologizing for her brothers behavior to the family she only thinks of her feelings and her lost, it's a shame.
Wow, the sister (of the ex-boyfriend) saying that "he was there for a friend" talking about the ex-boyfriend going there to 'look out for her'... was so sickening. How can she make up such trash in order to support her defense in a court case that she's obviously setting up these kinds of lies for. People are a complete mess.
Yeah, I about fell out of my seat when she said that. She has a right to be hurt and mad, but it should be at her brother for being so stupid and causing his own family pain in a situation that could have been clearly avoided if he simply left or never went there in the first place. The father was totally in the right, end of story.
Why is the sister embarrassing herself and her family …your brother was wrong period! Take accountability for what tf you raised and get off the screen!
This would be a entirely different story had she been home alone. The father made the right choice. It doesn't take a genius to assume whoever is trying to break into your home means you harm. Especially after he had been warned *multiple* times not to do it. It makes no sense to risk your life and your family's life when the ex was a obvious threat.
Srsly, someone is trying to force their way in, it's not even a question they deserve what they get. Think of whatever whacko thoughts someone like that is having - nothing good.
The threat has been eliminated. This POS would have just found another time to attack the girl. Once these sociopaths are triggered, they focus on nothing but "revenge". Good riddance to bad garbage.
@@Ebv66 The father was on the older side. Could have been overpowered by the ex. Actually a article by fox news did say he was being overpowered by this guy when keeping the door close. Going* head to head with this younger man would be a risk. You're sympathizing with a guy who could have been abusive. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. If you try breaking into someone's home, expect the life threatening consequences that come with that. And he wasn't a kid. He was 22, physically a fully grown man. They were broken up for over a year. He did drugs, which doesn't make him a bad person. But it changed him, the way he treated people. Became mean and rude towards people around him. Naturally people don't want to be around that kind of negativity. The fact that he showed up at her house a year after breaking things off is odd enough. Now her ex of over a year ago tries to break into her family's home. That's scary.
@@Ebv66 breaking and entering is a crime. They asked him several times too leave. That’s enough for anyone too protect their family. I might not have shot him quite that fast and maybe waited an extra second but then again seconds count. What if he had an knife. As a father of 3 (1 girl and 2 boys) there is no telling what I would do in a moment like that. Which is why we shouldn’t judge this father. This “kid” broke his locked door down with absolutely no facial expression and there is no way of telling what his intentions were. Clearly this dude was either on drugs or mentally unstable and the dad wasn’t about to find out what he was going to do after breaking into his home in broad daylight.
It's understandable that the family wants someone to blame, it's human nature. When you threaten someone's life however, you need to both expect and accept the consequences. Very unfortunate in this case, that young man could've walked away at any time.
I like your comment, reasonable and empathetic. Not like these cold heartless other people. The father did the right thing, although it seem he didn’t warn the guy he had a gun. It’s always sad to see some lose their, especially over girl. Move on, plenty of fish in the sea.
That dad is going to need a lot of therapy. Taking someone's life no matter if it is necessary or not is a lot to come to terms with. I hope he seeks the help.
Yes it is. I don't wish that on anyone. Sometimes it comes on strong and you try to tell yourself it was what you had to do. Whether justified or not, taking another humans life isn't something everyone can handle.
Yes it is, you don't understand till you've been in that position. When I was 12, my grandpa, a Vietnam vet who had been drinking heavy throughout the day, got very aggressive and had my then 10 yr old sister in a choke hold, that's when I had smashed his head with an ashtray, at a 4th of July party. He died a few days later from multiple skull fractures and swelling of the brain. My grandma, also an alcoholic and pill popper, committed suicide the day after grandpa died. 21 years after and my life is still not the same. And probably never will be. My family disowned me and my sister, and both my parents are gone. It's so hard.
That poor sister. She's going to have to wake up to the reality of the situation. He forced open the door of an ex. Too many horrible stories of what happens next. You can't wait for tragedy to happen if you can prevent it.
He did not actually. He couldn’t get that door open. He even stepped back and asked if they would open the door. It seemed as though the daughter invited him over and isn’t admitting it. Maybe her father was the reason she had to end their relationship. Report said after listening to the daughter and reading the report, it was unclear as to why they ended the relationship. “Dad”!
@@ZoomILike2flyAway Yeah, no. In the vid, they made it clear that the daughter did not want to talk to him (she broke up with him for a reason) and the dude just straight up threw his weight at the door, which was clearly locked, to gain entry even after being told to leave. If someone wanted you in their house, they would just let you in. Duh.
@@ZoomILike2flyAwayyou must be drinking. The full video shows the guy trying the door and finding it locked. Proceeded to break down the door all without saying a word.

Sis, wake up... He was there to cause harm!!! Look into your brother's eyes as he was at the door. Those deep dark hollow eyes were not the eyes of a caring young man. Hopefully one day you will realize what really happened. I think it is natural to stand up for your brother but this is clearly an open and shut case. And hopefully you and your dad won't have to deal with an ex-boyfriend of yours this same way. And if you do, I hope you dad protects you as this dad protected his daughter!!!
Narcissists usually have “enablers” within their inner circle, hence why they get as bad as they do. Any normal person would understand the first time you tell them NO to just drop it and stop bothering…but that doesn’t exactly work the same way for a narcissist does it? It doesn’t matter if it is 1 time or even 65 times, they will do “whatever they want to do” because the rules don’t apply to them. Oh but don’t worry, they have no issues setting rules for everyone else (especially if it means to tailor another person’s behavior to get whatever they want).
Dad did a great job. This is exactly what our right to self defense is for. Protecting our families. It's a heavy burden to bear but the kid got what he asked for.

My goodness If he was so concerned then he should of tried to reach out to her a different way not going to her house and breaking in. I'm very proud of her father. This man was only protecting his daughter.
Uggh, ppl can be sooo delusional and not fully realizing just how awful their family can be. If the sister can't or won't make the connection between Alison's tears and James' insistence on entering her parents' home to where he's breaking the door, she either truly has zero clue about her brother's depravity, or she's just as toxic, making Alison feel miserable. My money is on the latter.

Nope. Just a psycho doing psycho things. I guess part of family is not being able to see when they’re doing something wrong
In El Paso Texas an ex boyfriend, went to his ex girlfriends house and banging on the door her dad opened the door, and since he wouldn't call his daughter he shot and killed the Dad then enterd the house and killed his Ex girlfriend, and drove away, about 2 miles away he shot himself and crashed into a rock wall, he was pronounced dead at the sean.
@Let the flames takeover Dad was older and didn't appear to be in great shape. Should he go outside and be attacked by a younger, stronger man, who then could attack his daughter? And how would dad know if he was armed or not? Should he wait until his family is hurt before taking action? I'm not taking those chances with my children, and no sane person would.
Good job, dad. One of a father’s most important jobs is protecting his girls and this dad did just that. Yes that's exactly what they were supposed to do - they were NOT in any immediate danger when the dad suddenly opened fire: he didn't open fire the moment the door became undone and the guy was about to push it open and enter the house. The door, despite some damage, remained securely locked when the dad opened fire. All what the unarmed guy outside had been doing was shaking the door - he was not breaking through. The dad should point his gun at the door and kept monitoring the situaiton while waiting for the cops (who were already on their way and were only minutes away.)
If the lock, or the door frame, gave in and the guy outside was about to barge in, the dad would be justified to open fire. How can she make up such trash in order to support her defense in a court case that she's obviously setting up these kinds of lies for. People are a complete mess.
Denial is the only thing I can think of
The five stages of grief hit people differently she was still living in denial.
She is so full of have to make up crazy lies like this she better get help for herself sounds like crazy runs in the family. 🤓🤓
Yeah, I about fell out of my seat when she said that. She has a right to be hurt and mad, but it should be at her brother for being so stupid and causing his own family pain in a situation that could have been clearly avoided if he simply left or never went there in the first place. The father was totally in the right, end of story.
Sisters as crazy as the brother, runs in the family
I don't even understand what the debate is here. This is one justified act of self-defense.
Because there can always be more than meet the eye
yeah if anything the ex should investigated better when he heard 'I have a gun' still keeps crashing into the house
Why no warning shot?
@@nullnick He was warned and asked to leave multiple times, we heard it clearly in the audio.
@@nullnick you ever been in that situation? why would a warning shot work?
This man did a great job defending his family
AMEN 🙏
Why is the sister embarrassing herself and her family …your brother was wrong period! Take accountability for what tf you raised and get off the screen!
Which shows the "bang up job " their parents did in raising them smh
they always have psycho family members that enable him.
Dad was scared of a unarmed kid
Sister is horrible person
most men cant control their emotions... they usually end up dead or end up killing their girlfriend or wife who left them...
"at any time." smh yea......
Good thing guns as a right in US only
I like your comment, reasonable and empathetic. Not like these cold heartless other people. The father did the right thing, although it seem he didn’t warn the guy he had a gun. It’s always sad to see some lose their, especially over girl. Move on, plenty of fish in the sea.
This guy will never try to break into a family’s house again.
That dad is going to need a lot of therapy. Taking someone's life no matter if it is necessary or not is a lot to come to terms with. I hope he seeks the help.
For 1 body
Yes it is. I don't wish that on anyone. Sometimes it comes on strong and you try to tell yourself it was what you had to do. Whether justified or not, taking another humans life isn't something everyone can handle.
Nah, he's good.
I agree taking a human life is not a easy matter to deal with God Bless all involved 🙏
Condolences to the man’s family. You don’t break into someone’s house!
Yea facts this guy had every right to defend his family

That poor sister. She's going to have to wake up to the reality of the situation. He forced open the door of an ex. Too many horrible stories of what happens next. You can't wait for tragedy to happen if you can prevent it.
He did not actually. He couldn’t get that door open. He even stepped back and asked if they would open the door. It seemed as though the daughter invited him over and isn’t admitting it. Maybe her father was the reason she had to end their relationship. Report said after listening to the daughter and reading the report, it was unclear as to why they ended the relationship. “Dad”!
@@ZoomILike2flyAway lib
@@ZoomILike2flyAway Yeah, no. In the vid, they made it clear that the daughter did not want to talk to him (she broke up with him for a reason) and the dude just straight up threw his weight at the door, which was clearly locked, to gain entry even after being told to leave. If someone wanted you in their house, they would just let you in. Duh.
@@ZoomILike2flyAwayyou must be drinking. The full video shows the guy trying the door and finding it locked. Proceeded to break down the door all without saying a word.
@@ZoomILike2flyAway He did open the door even dad said he had it open.
Of course the family should not be charged . Who knows what this weirdo had in mind when he was trying to break in the house , the dad even warned him that he is armed .
You're right 100%, people need to understand you're way more likely as a woman to get killed by a partner than a stranger
Amen
Thank God that girls OK if the dad would’ve never stepped in God knows what would’ve happened that girl could’ve been buried right now good job dad your dad of the year👍👍👍👍
The dad was in his full legal right in protecting his family. As a family man myself i support him. I would have done the same thing myself.

The daughter was in absolute terror from her ex, clearly there was something toxic in the relationship and her father had every right to protect his daughter from someone who was intent on harming her. A true father and hero...plain and simple.
He was an ex from YEARS ago and randomly started leaving voicemails. He followed her and she went to the parents house.

Neighbor’s son used to go around killing stray animals and leaving them on the sidewalk and the mother would be like “he’s just different, he’s expressing himself” 😑 at first I thought maybe he was autistic or somehow neurodivergent or something? Nope. Just a psycho doing psycho things. I guess part of family is not being able to see when they’re doing something wrong
Right and if he killed everyone she would back him
In El Paso Texas an ex boyfriend, went to his ex girlfriends house and banging on the door her dad opened the door, and since he wouldn't call his daughter he shot and killed the Dad then enterd the house and killed his Ex girlfriend, and drove away, about 2 miles away he shot himself and crashed into a rock wall, he was pronounced dead at the sean.
Dad did the right thing. He protected his family. Enough said👏🏿
@Let the flames takeover Dad was older and didn't appear to be in great shape.
