Horizon Forbidden West for me by far....the first game is one of my top 10, absolutely loved the world and it's lore so much that I couldn't stop playing until I'd seen everything that game had. The sequel was a tedious retread.
I loved both games. The first one platinum was easy only 2 playthroughs for me the second one....let's not talk about 😬😬😬😬 still managed iy though

Completely agree with you on Fenyx Rising. I had to take a break before I finished going for the Platinum. Currently going for Valhalla Platinum and it's on the verge of breaking me
I started my platinum hunting journey this year. I’ve noticed that the games I’ve played can be platinum’d way before getting everything out of the game. So I’ve actually been going beyond the platinums to get everything as well. It takes much longer, but oh well. Also, I’ve been keeping any backlog in check by only having a couple games owned that aren’t completed. It keeps my collection small as I play.

Starting the video of with an absolute major L take. I say this as a LEGO Game completionist.
Don't get me wrong, I would personally rank Skywalker Saga very far down my list of LEGO games from best to worst. (Especially since I prefer the 2007/2012 style of LEGO games) But it's still a LEGO game and I'll get the completion for it. Only reason I haven't yet is because I've been doing other games. I also gotta clear my backlog quite a bit but life be busy sometimes haha. Only achievement I've ever struggled with in a LEGO game is completing Episode 6 Level 6 of Star Wars TOT without dying
That was really a good video, i think out of all my platinums so far (i just have 20 xd) i walked aways so often from AC Valhalla because of all the collectibles. Now i was like "ah come on im just gonna do it" and now i have it and it was such a good Feeling. Keep up the good work it was a really good video :D

Interesting list. I have a story with Fenyx. The last trophy - beating all challenges - glitched on me. So, I had to play the game twice. The first time, I enjoyed the world, the exploring and I didn’t mind all the things, but the second time it just was a painful slog. I am a big open world fan. Once I year I play one of the many. AC, Far Cry, Fenyx, Death Stranding. More is not healthy.
Detroit: Become Human. Until Dawn was my first Platinum as a trophy hunter, and I have a special place in my heart. The collectibles were the biggest pain.
But I respect you for your decision. I wish, I could let go some of the games on my list.

I'm pretty proud of myself as i have the Plats for Fenyx and Detriot. Fenyx Plat is def not for the faint of heart. Grindy af and your spot on about the map clearing.
I loved Death Stranding and am actually thinking of going for the Platinum as I too gave up on it back in the day.

Bro, I feel your pain while doing lego star wars!! After LOTR lego, that I really enjoyed, I decide to do Lego star wars. After like 30 hours I was so deep in that i didn't stop and it took me another 40 hours to plat it... (Funny tho I did it in 69 hours haha) And I both cancel detroit and death stranding as well!

I hope you decide to go for dmc 1 platinum again. I managed to get most of the enemy files pretty easily, im not sure if i got really lucky, but i only struggled with around 4 or 5 of the files.
I don't know if I'd say I necessarily gave up on them, mostly cause they are games I put on my profile from before I got into trophy hunting, but there are some on there I don't really intend to do. Due to how much I cleaned up throughout the years, there are only two games I haven't yet platinumed, besides one other that's now unobtainable. And it should be obvious why based on the guides.
The first is "White Knight Chronicles" (PS3), at an 8/10 difficulty requiring 600+ hours.
The second is "Star Ocean: The Last Hope" (PS3), at a 5/10 requiring 500+ hours.
They are very long platinums to do. I'm no stranger to long platinums, I've done plenty of 100 to even 200 hour platinums. The longest single platinum I've done took 400-450 hours...and it was so mind-numbing that I legitimately don't recall most of that experience. That pretty much is my limit and those are even longer.
For the most part, I can do them. They aren't hard enough that it's impossible for me. I, hopefully understandably, just don't want to. And even then, I have no interest in replaying those games in the first place. So forcing myself to go back to them is only going to make it even more of a slog. I have a ton of other games I'd rather play for the first time instead.
Oh damn I can't say I blame you for not finishing those off! I've never tried either of them myself but I know they're notorious for how much time you have to sink into them!
Plus doesn't Star Ocean require like 3/4 playthroughs? I mean if you aren't absolutely loving every second of those kind of games then there's no reason to force yourself through it, like you said it's just going to make it even more of a slog!
I have White Knight Chronicles still sealed but man, I don't wanna try to plat that, haha. Still, I will play it on my alt account because it looks cool.

When it comes to grinding, Im super stubborn to it. I got Death Stranding but took me 50ish hours to just do the story and then another 60hrs after that to get the plat. I normally don't go after MP trophies unless they're reasonable so most games I've quit on are mostly because of the MP trophies. I haven't played NFS Unbound yet and already know I won't platinum it but the only NFS game I completely quit trying to get the plat for is The Run. For me that game was nothing but frustration.

I’ve also given up on death Stranding. A really interesting concept and enjoyable game/story. But like you say, it’s a very slow burner, then after the story it wants you to do 700 deliveries, 80 premium deliveries, get 5 stars on every delivery point, and frankly, I just don’t have time for that sort of grind with a full time job
The one in recent years for me is AC Vahalla, it was to a literal point where i just... No not anymore Ubisoft

I loved Detroit. Took me 7 playthroughs with no guide to get that plat. It was my 2nd plat that I ever got when I first started plat hunting lol. It was a bit of a drain on the 5th playthrough. I was over it by then but I kept going anyway

3 stars in drifting in nfs heat took me ages but im happy i got the plat in all the nfs games
im at 149 plats and im done going for many plats from now on only going for plats of games i really love and get into
I love racing games, but I gave up on Grid 2019 only due to the final trophy required, for driving just under 25000 miles, after completing every other trophy + all dlc i was less than 3000 miles so I noped out of that.
I've also given up on the new Saints Row game for the time being, there was a trophy that has glitched that means I need to eventually start a new game to get, which definitely impacted my motivation to 100% the rest of the stuff.
I really enjoyed Riders Republic and played a lot of it when that came out, but there's a trophy for capturing 30 districts in trick battle (an online mode) which takes AGES to matchmake for and you need to be the person who gets the final part of a district for it to count as progress, i must have played about 10 games of that and only got 2, I wasn't willing to put myself through that as it would have ruined my opinion of the game.
I platinumed heat twice, and found it both enjoyable and easy, as for Payback i just didn't care for trophies when i played and kinda forgot of the game, however i'm about to go back
I'm also currently doing Far Cry 5 multiplayer, and I was surprised at how dead the servers are. Not a single hero mode match active and I can't seem to win ten feature maps.
Had a similar problem with Sniper Elite 4 but they're both durable, just frustration.
I did the same thing with Farcry 5. The multiplayer sucks and I just gave up. Hopefully I'll go back to it at some point and get some boosters. It and FC6 are the only ones i don't have platinumed since 3. I'll be working on 6 here before too long since it's on PLUS.
I literally JUST platinumed Immortals Fenyx Rising last week. Yeah it is a bit tedious at the end but it's doable. I just went in and started following guides to find the last stuff I needed. Especially in the vaults, which I hated. I just followed guides and banged it out.
I also platted Payback recently as well. And I, like you, gave up on it at first but I went back in and tried again and got it. Also platted NFS 2016, and Rivals recently to boot.
I have no desire whatsoever to play Detroit: BH. Those games are the definition of tedious. I tried Heavy Rain and gave up on that. Honestly didn't see what all the fuss was about with that one.
I love the lego games and have many of them platinumed but when I heard about the Skywalker Saga and it's collectibles and how big a time sink it was I said, "nah". I'll pass on that one.
Death Stranding is another that I heard about the tedium on and just don't feel like going through all that. Plus I honestly think Kojima is over rated anyway so that's not a draw for me. Just being convoluted and weird for the sake of it does not make you a genius. It just makes you weird.
Yeah the MP really wasn't great was it? I also want to try 6 as well because I have it sat on my shelf still sealed 😂
And I totally get you, a lot of the ones on the list were down to the sheer tedium they put you through and that just wasn't something I could be bothered putting myself through!
I did far cry 5 and 6 not too long ago and it was kinda fun

2 of the funnest Platinums i have. Even after the platinum trophies, i sunk dozens of hours into both of those games.
Insomniac's Spider-Man and Ghost of Tsushima are very fun and simple Platinums as well.

I fully understand the Devil May Cry one I have gone back to all 5 games to try and get the platinum and I have issues with all but for the 1st game I looked up how to get all enemy entries and I took one look at that and was like nope not getting that 😂
Ironically got the plat for NFS Payback, but simply could not push for NFS Heat. It took upwards of 40 hours to get all those collectibles and I was not going to do it again 😂

I remember DMC1, but I don't recall the enemy info being that hard for me. Last one I had to get was from Shadow - the one where you gotta jump up and kill it with your guns - but I was on hard mode so I couldn't do it properly, forcing me a restart JUST for that single info. Honestly I had more trouble beating DMD than the files. I remember finishing the game like 3-4 times so i was stacked with enough items for my DMD run. Frustrating, especially the really terrible camera. But satisfying in the end.
As for the game I gave up on its plat, it's definitely FF13. Not only I missed one item that basically makes one trophy unobtainable, but I just had zero fun with it. Combat was a slog, samey, always had to repeat the same action for oever 60-70 hours, and final boss was a cheap POS who could one shot one of your team members at random, including the leader - and if he does that, that means game over and have to restart the 10+ battle from scratch. I don't know if I'll ever back to it, but finishing the game was painful enough as is...
i basically gave up on death stranding after getting the trophy for taking a wee outside for the first time andthe trophies with BB, decided why not just quit at the top?
I've put off farcry 5 because of the multiplayer.. i would love to grind with others for the trophies!
Actually got Plat on most of the games you mentioned but gave up on Red Dead Redemption 2
If there's one platinum i gave up on, would have to be Devil May Cry 5. I got most of the trophies, but 2 require to play through the game on hell & hell mode, and to get an S rank on every mission on all dificulties.
If I've learned one thing from GuyFarruski it's to never go for that platinum so I don't blame you at all!
For far cry 5, best way to get the multiplayer trophy is just create a lobby and call it '(name of the trophy)' and people will join you pretty quickly and you have the trophy prett fast.

I replayed it 3 times and missed one of the requirements by accident and didn’t realize now I need to start all over again. After watching the same damn cut scenes twenty times it feels like now I left the game at 89 percent. I will go back but I’ve platinumed like 15 games in that time span. I loved the game on the first two play throughs after that it took my soul
Immortals was a super easy plat. The 100% with the DLC was an absolute nightmare though, but the plat wasn't bad at all.
Plats I gave up on:
GTA5 - I never really attempted this Plat. Just beat the story. The massive online turns me off too.
Genshin Impact - I feel bad about this one because I really enjoyed the gameplay and story for about a month, but then I lost interest. Part of me still hopes to try this game again.
Mafia 3 - trophies are very glitched. I am not going to stress myself out like that.
Oh god the Mafia 3 plat is horrendous! I'm fairly sure you need to do the entire plat in one go to avoid the major bugs so I don't blame you!
And I've never tried Genshin but a few people I know swear by it so I have been tempted to try it.

Giving up on platinums from series you already got does not make you hypocritical. Sometimes a game will ask you to do loads of long tasks (kill 1000 enemies with a certain weapon) while another entry may trade the long grind for more skill based objectives which are harder to obtain. If you have already done NFS and Lego but the entries you gave up on were asking for what the other games were except this time you have to do it longer, you hit the wall and decided enough was enough.
It’s like that Seriously achievement in Gears of War. Eventually most of humanity will say Seriously needs a reevaluation and not just making a bigger number of kills
i can agree on Immortals Fenyx Risingand thats from a guy who platted it twice and i kinda gave up on The Witcher 3 just because of death march and Assassin's Creed Unity because im not doing the online trophies
Yep, Death March can be a "deal breaker", cause you have 2 options, 1.- Play it with that difficult at the beggining and the game can be painful at the start or 2.- Play DM in a second playtrough...that would give you another 40hrs to beat it (cause either way, you have to find the DM versions of your armor and weapons).
Mate I can't believe you did it twice! I definitely think I'd have enjoyed Immortals more if I hadn't just done Valhalla 🤔 and I totally understand The Witcher, death march is such a daunting prospect!

The one lego plat I gave up on.
crash team racing is a game i gave up on, and not because of the difficulty, I was actually really good at the game and did all the n tropy races and had a few nitro oxide races left. however while I was transferring data from my ps4 to my ps4 pro something went wrong and earsed my progress and I cant bring myself to go back and do the races again

I can relate with Detroit Become Human, for me is a great game, but when you started replaying it the charm start to go off, specially when you have to make some chpices you don't agree or don't like.
Yeah I mean I probably would have enjoyed the story if I'd just played through it, but following the hyper-specific path to be as efficient as possible does not help that sort of experience! Glad you enjoyed the game though!
The Arkham night series was so frustrating

I only ever plat games I truly love. If it's a game I played and thought was meh I'll not bother doing the plat. Even if it was only a 3/10 in difficulty and only takes 8hrs.
Detroit become humans plat has forever stained that game for me. Loved my first playthrough then trying to get the plat made me want to die. And for far cry 5 I initially didn't plat it because my ps4 corrupted but later went back and got it done, but now the DLC trophies are taunting me 😅
Dark souls 3 for me I got all the trophy’s except for one. Where I had to collect over 100 rings. Which is spread across 3 play throughs. I almost had them all then my ps4 stopped working so I got a new one and I forgot to save DS3 save data to the cloud so I lost everything and I can’t go through that again lol.
Restarted my trophy hunting last year. There haven't been any plats that I gave up on but I do avoid ones that require online trophies to get, with some exceptions.So far I've had a few regrets, one being Horizon: Forbidden West. Hated that game. Loved the graphics and the world aesthetic. Just the story and combat sucked making me dread getting the plat. Lego Star Wars was a grind but I got it. There are a few other trophies like the Cars video games but they were break trophies, meaning I took a break from the intensive plats like the Souls games, RPGs, etc.
At least you can. It bugs me when I don't finish the trophies. I have to get them all and if it's a game where getting them all is literally impossible like fable anniversary with Xbox smart glass gone or no servers for the online stuff. It literally stresses me out lol.

Out of 6 Far Cry Games I only have 2 platinum and its because of the multi-player trophies.
I've also given up on so many other platinums due to multi-player trophies.
I have all the achievements in skywalker saga and idk if I should be proud or ashamed of it

I gave up on the Alex Kid dx platinum. Game was pretty simple until you have to the boss rush at the end. 1 hit and back to start you go. Must have tried a dozen or so times, cant do it

I think u gotta do farcry games with a friend my gf helped me get the plat and it made the game 10x more fun I think
Absolutely, I mean I enjoyed playing the game but it would have been so much more fun with someone else to run through with!
There have always been collectibles in a hub world or open world setting in Lego games
That's true, but when those areas make up the vast majority of the content it just stops being fun to me. If they'd cut down on those and put more focus on the story missions I'd have probably loved it, but personally I couldn't justify the amount of time it would have taken 🤷

I think it's those one or two enemies that stopped me in my tracks unfortunately, I just could not for the life of me get them unlocked 🥲 I definitely want to give it another go at some point because I love that franchise so much!
@PeaTearGames i guess it was scythe scissors and the nobody's they both have two moves that are random I found videos on TH-cam to help me get them though. If you ever go back enjoy it one of my favourite plats.

I’m about to give up on tomb raider part 1. The trophies are pretty damn easy. I was able to get all of them BUT the multiplayer ones. In about 14 hours. One of the multiplayer ones is reach level 60. In order to do that you need 1.7 MILLION with a M. To reach that. And if you played that game doing a solo run nets you about 28-30k xp each time. The most stupidest thing out there man. I only lasted about 2 hours before I uninstalled death stranding. Big disappointment. Another one that I stopped getting the platinum and playing overall was horizon forbidden forest. Not that it was hard it’s cause elden ring came out shortly after 😅

I gave up on Adventure time pirates of the enchiridion. The game is a buggy mess and after 4 playthroughs and still not having every side quest spawn in one file, i gave up at 91% trophy completion
Judgement ,, the 100% Karomocho is fuckin disgusting.. especially for Drone Race and PoyoPoyo (PS4) mini games
I hate arcade mode for farcy 5 but somehow I made it through and got the platinum
If u need help with farcy 5 arcade achievements I can help
