- Full tutorial build video on how to craft the Hellhound Statesman holster for 1911. This holster build walkthrough is intended for those with an intermediate skillset in leathercraft.
We use a 10oz full grain veg tan saddle skirt sourced from Wickett&Craig. We line our holsters in a 2oz leather of the same.

You should give it a go! Honestly the hardest part of holster making is the pattern/fit and building up a library of patterns for the million different makes/models/sizes/modifications of all the different guns. Huge headache, actually would not recommend as a business model hahah
But as a hobby? Crafting holsters for yourself, friends and family? Nothing better. :)

Thats an old hook/trimming knife that I picked up at Tandy about 15 years ago. I think they still sell something similar (tandyleather.com/products/tandypro-tools-precision-knife?_pos=22&_sid=533813187&_ss=r) but I'm not sure if its any good...the handle is different and I doubt its as comfortable as my old one.
