Thanks, Great Video. Just fixed the led on my TV. It was actually easier than I taught. I also change the Diodes on the PSU. Having checked out your videos. I was looking for a new TV and the fact is, I cant see a brand that isn't a Vestel. Thanks again.
He probado todo lo referente a Diodos, Fusibles , electroliticos y nada..Hace Clac, clac, clac y si tengo 24 V y 12 V *No encuentro los 5V* ¿Es posible que los envie la Main? Hi. Thanks for this, very helpful video. I located my short to one of the UF5404 diodes. I ordered a replacement but the ones I got are smaller in size. I'm a total newbee to this and am wondering if the size, in this case, does matter?! Thanks.
Hey man, just wanted to say thank you! I have the same tv with no standby light and using your method traced it to one of the 3 diodes above the 2 you found bad... (which you also replaced) £1.69 for 5 and hopefully arriving thursday. Ill keep you posted! listing title for the ones im replacing is 'SB5100 Schottky Barrier Rectifier Diode 5A 100V' found on ebay if it helps anyone else.
Yes they were replaced using all part numbers and stickers. I got them used from reputable sources however I suppose it may be possible the psu I was sold has faulty diodes and mosfet.
thank you, had been given a bush tv that wouldn't power up. bought a replacement board which turned out to a slightly different model.. I swapped all three diode beneath the four capacitors and bingo all working... led does blink 5 times when you first turn on tv. not sure if it's indicating another error.. but will see how she goes for now.. thanks

Hello vice video, I have a a TV (Finlux 32findb82) and I have a problem with the TV, time to time it does not work, the led lights on some times, then it works for one minute and goes off again, I have changed the four diodes (1N4007) the one that was on my motherboard VESTEL 17IPS62. but I have still the same problem . could you please let me know if I have to change any other parts on the the board? I will be greatfull.
Thanks for the video i have the same tv but in my case the output diodes are short-circuited. you know what could be the cause of the short-circuit? i think its the transformator
Hello, i have a problem with a similar vestel card. (17IPS71). The fuse is OK, all capacitor seem OK, but i have a question about the diodes : When i test them outside the circuit, the multimeter displays a fixe value in elapsing direction and 0L in block direction. So, the diodes seem OK. When i test them in the circuit, the multimeter displays a fixe value in elapsing direction too, but in block direction, the multimeter do a beep and the value is progressive for 1 or 2seconds then the multimeter indicate 0L. Are the diodes OK ? Why this behavior with diodes ? Can you help me ? Thanks !!
thanks for this guide, it helped me replace 6 diodes and got the Hitachi tv working again. Mine had about 4 month use (if it was on all the time) before it went dead. Do you know if the diodes I've replaced will still be susceptible to go faulty again because it's on a vestel board?
Thank you for your excellent video. I managed to trace the fault to the led strips which is thanks to your explination. The board is outputting 24v to the strips but I guess its a Christmas light order 1 out all out?
+Michael Arthey HI thanks for the feedback :) Yes the Leds are like Christmas lights they are wired in series so one out all out. As you have 24v on the Psu the Leds are deffo bad buddy.
Thanks for the reply. I am not familiar with this led type. Although I'm ok with this type of soldering I fear those taped strips are single use? Would you happen to know what they are called or what part number for an entire strip? Thanks again.
+Michael Arthey There are 2 strips in the panel both with 11 leds on them. Head over to badcaps.net/forum and create a thread on how to test the Leds. You don't need to remove them from the TV if you chose to repair the originals, you should use hot air to remove the defective ones. Also glad to help :)
+Michael Arthey Or if you want I do offer a Led repair service if you want to send them too me and I will repair and test them but up to you buddy. I'm in the process of doing a video of repairing this fault but need to wait until I get a defective Led Tv wont be long lol very common issue.
+MrReeceyburger123 Thanks, have done so. Just waiting for my restriction to update after posting in the welcome forum just now. Speak to you soon. Cheers.
Hello i have the same cart mother i repair the led tv telefunken but the voltage that power the led it out 23 v i need your help i see your video the out that goes for the led 93v
Hello, Very nice and educational video you made. I've got the exact same PSU PCB, it's from a Philips 32" TV. I found this video by googling the PCB model. The TV turns on and works but has no backlight at all (it passes the flashlight test). The LED output of PSU reads from 30 to 0 volts in reverse polarity (it drops out slowly). I should be getting 24V, right? I checked all capacitors, they are fine. The diodes are not shorted, backlight mosfet is not shorted either. I wanted to check the LED strips themselves but pins of each LED are not accessible, the strip can be only tested as a whole. From looking at the strip, it seems the 11 LEDs are connected in parallel, not in series. I only tested it using 1,5V, 3V and 4,5V battery pack, none of them have lit and I am afraid to try higher voltage so I don't burn them (well, if they are not burned already). I have 2 questions: 1) is the output from PSU to LCD backlight LED strips supposed to be 24V? 2) what can you recommend to measure/check on the PSU if it outputs such incorrect backlight voltage? I would be very grateful for your response.
+Mek7777 Hello, the output to the Leds should be measured with black probe to ground and red to the positive of the Led strings. The voltage should be 90v Dc to start then lower to 70v when the Pwm circuit kicks in. If there is a failed Led in the screen the voltage will start at 80-90v then lower back to 24v continuous. Also the Leds are in series not in parallel hence the high voltage needed for them all. If you do not have higher than 24v then the Leds are probably ok and the Led controller chip has failed not the Leds. The controller chip is what tells the mosfet to turn on and create the high voltage to the Leds. If you get stuck head over to badcaps.net and I will help you there also check my other video out on the Led backlight repairs I have done. Also thanks for the feedback :)
Hey, I have tv with this power supply, backlight is not working, led are good, I dont get high dc voltage on the output, I only get around 24v, and not getting higher, even when i start the tv, checked all mosfets, diodes, everything, how to repair it?
Hmm please head over to badcaps.net I will help there. But to start 24v for ips19 is unboosted dc meaning the mosfet isnt being turned on so its probably the led controller ic thats failed.
I took out the ic mp3394 that is boosting voltage for leds, and placed step up converter that will give me high voltage, then I used existing mosfet to switch on and off the converter, and wired the gate pin to enable pin from the ic I took off, then I regulated the output current to draw on about 200mA, and now it works like a charm.
Hi, thanks for the videos they're really helpful. Have you ever seen a problem with these boards where the resistor R304 and possibly R301-R303 have completely burnt out? This has happened on mine and i'm thinking that something bigger caused this to happen so replacing them won't sort the problem. Can you point me in the right direction please?
+gordenfraxby84 Yep that happens if the 12v diodes (not the ones shorted in my video) fail. Your whole switching section will need to be fixed. Look on ebay for the 17ips19 repair kit you will find what you need in a complete kit.
!!!WARNING FOR EVERYONE!!! My metal backplate is under 240 Volts. Do not touch the metal until you have checked with a multimeter or electrical test screwdriver.
Hi, this video is great!! I've got the exact same PSU PCB, it's from a Hitachi 40HXC06. The problem is: the plug is attached but tv does not turn on . Do not light up even the stand- by indicator. Can you point me in the right direction please? Regards
Thanks for the feedback, you should check if you have 12v and 25v on the cathode side of the diodes on the Psu. If so the Psu is good and your motherboard is faulty.
In looking for a new tv, can you give a list of the best brands of a couple of tv's? I was looking at a LG OLED tv, even though expensive has the best picture and angle viewing. Thanks
hi, maybe you can help me? Tv was completely dead, I found out that there was a shorted diode (sb5100) so I replaced it, now the stand by light turns on and it tries to turn on (back light turns on, and stand by light turns blue) but the picture doesn't show up and it goes back to stand by. and it repeats the process all over again. I noticed that PS board makes buzzing and ticking noise.
did this and still nothing the set is dead no lights or anything i did notice that when unplugged around 10 seconds later there i a wining noise comes from the power board
i have the Turbo-X TXV-32D LED TV 32’’ .inside is same with videos tvs.have same board.this tv do not open, not light open.is compete dead.check all diode and is ok.any else to check????
Hi, Thank you for Video I have a problem with Hitachi TV. The blue and red light is flashing, the power supply is Vistal 17ips19-5 The energy on the capacitors 340 V and the diodes 24 V is normal, can you help me find the problem?
If you still have the TV, there's three diodes together towards top of the board on the power board, bet one of them has gone open, it's a common fault with them TVs
hi man. thanks for this Vid! I have a telefunken TV with exactly the same mainboard (17IPS19-5) It wont turn on. Just Standby LED Blinking for 5 Seconds, then its shining constantly... I dissassembled it and saw that the Resistor R272 (0,47Ω 1W was killed.) I bought a new one and put it in. But in one second when i Put it on Energy, the dame resistor made BANG and was killed. you know whats the problem here? :/ Thanks and Greetings from germany :)
I have a Bush 42inch 3d tv with flashing standby light. exact same power board. the light flashes 7times slow and after constantly fast. is there any faults you have come across like this? Many thanks
+Jon Smitheman Hello, sounds like the firmware has corrupt but you need to diagnose the Psu first all you have to is check the devices in this video with a DMM. If they are good watch this:th-cam.com/video/kPCisa9BYkk/w-d-xo.html
I have just checked the diodes following the tutorial (my meter is a cheaply on with no buzzer) all 4 diodes (the ones you replaced) and the 2 next to them have no reading on either polarity. The remaining 3 at the top of the board read 191 each. Bearing in mind they are still soldered to the board.
+Jon Smitheman Right ok, can I ask did you replace them with exact replacements ? And by that I don't mean by model number I mean the boards you replaced them with should be exact and are specific to your Tv ?
Thanks, Great Video. Just fixed the led on my TV. It was actually easier than I taught. I also change the Diodes on the PSU. Having checked out your videos. I was looking for a new TV and the fact is, I cant see a brand that isn't a Vestel. Thanks again.
No worries thanks for the comment :)
thanks mate 4:38 in and you pointed out my problem , Always check the components with the meter first (doh!!!!)
