Wonderful lesson! Imagine, the oil that the woman used to anoint Jesus came from India. Over thousand years ago, someone in India prepared that anointment, not knowing that it was for the Messiah's burial. The family of that person or persons maybe alive today, but they don't know that it was their family that prepared the oil for Jesus' burial. I hope and pray that they are Christians. Strange!

Mr Gore - is verses 32-37 of Mark chapter 13 a continuation of the prior verses regarding the coming destruction of the temple in 70 ad? Or are these verses separate from that and referring to a second coming of Christ some time in the future? Would appreciate your help with this.

The most natural sense of the text is that it is a continuation the thought from the previous verses, and thus applies in the first instance to that generation of Christians. However, the concluding line, 'what I say to you, I say to all...watch!' suggests that the warning is timeless and all of us Christians should also take it to heart. Thanks!

@@GoreBruce I am enjoying your book on the Context of the Bible. Great info! I do have a question regarding this portion of Scripture in the video. I know Mark does not make mention of Christ coming like a thief and I have yet to watch your series on Luke but would you happen to remember if you cover this in detail. Correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that coming like a thief and no one knowing the day or hour is associated heavily with the Jewish understanding of The Wedding Feast and The Feast of Trumpets. Could you please comment on that or point me to a video where maybe you cover this?

@@J.F.331 Sorry, I'm not aware of that connection. If you find a credible source for that hypothesis, please pass it on!

    Thankyou
When we delve into this story we come away with the notion that it is favorable to to be like Mary and yet .... type B personalities are more likely to behave like Martha.
The Reformation reminds me of Martha.

May Father YAHweh bless your understanding so you will understand Father YAHweh is NOT the Son. YAHshua was the Son of Adam and mother Eve Genesis 3:20. Praise Father YAHweh.
