This woman is my kind of chick. I am an artist and plan to start my Van life journey next spring. I have scoured the internet and TH-cam looking for storage ideas for all my many artistic hobbies and have found nothing….until now. Thank you so much for this van tour. Now I have some ideas.
That is a real work of art! It’s amazing enough on its own, but that she picked up how to do all of that woodwork so quickly *and* then executed it so flawlessly and professionally is truly astounding.
"My Dad has a wood shop and showed me how to use the tools." looking at this van, I would say She's a Very Quick learner. Awesome job. She's got good reason to be proud.
I took have been creative with wood a lot. I first built a dog house, then a playhouse and then remodeled my bathroom...then the van. Cabinets are much harder.
She definitely is not a novice the detail in this wood and the layout of everything is awesome but her doing it just after dad show her and her finishing something this nice hummmm idk....

I feel Dads deserve more credit than they often receive in many of these van conversion exposes! It's not that difficult to discern diy from pro builds, if you've been in the game for awhile😉
It's just so homey. I mean it looks like a home. I'd want a toilet & shower & maybe table, but then again -- we all adapt to our space & needs. To get this far would be incredible. The colors of your woodwork are gorgeous. What a cutting board! & pantry! And those drawers in back are just perfect. Wow! Thank you for sharing (if you're still reading this). Good call, Bob!
I like this lady. She's so pretty and sweet. And she's so talented. Best van home I have ever seen. It's hard for me to believe what people can do with a van. If you had mentioned doing this a few years ago, people would have looked at you like you were crazy. I just love this van, so much 👍💕💕.
I like to sew and do crafts, so I never thought I could live this way. But you showed how it can be done. Room for a sewing machine and some craft items is what sells me on this.
I been working on exotic hard woods and plywood for over 50 years ..and belive me this lady has accomplished a one of a kind work..congratulations just beautiful I absolutely love it
This one of my top five favorite van builds. It's nice when you have a wood shop available with someone knowledgeable and willing to share their craftsmanship. Beautiful.
Anyone can copy these ideas. Lumber stores cut wood and you can rent or borrow tools. Take woodworking classes. Ask at high school woodshop. If there's a will there's a way.
I really love these self built RV's over the commercial ones that cost a kings ransom. The owners get what they want rather than paying for things they'll never use.

@@alanj7306 if the van is their home, then they're not homeless. I'd take a van home over rent any day. Now, do I want my own land? 1,000% Do I eventually want to build a cozy cottage on that land? Absolutely. Doesn't detract from the value of a van home in any way.
My husband and I met Terilou at a tiny house convention in San Jose, CA. TL gave us a ‘tour’ of her beautiful van and it’s even more stunning in person. At the time she had a gorgeous quilt she made at the head of her bed - she is a true artist and free spirit. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Every time I hear her mention her fathers help I feel a pain in my heart and the impulse to cry. I feel deep grief as I lost my dad at a very young age☹️. I know I’m not alone in this regard, my heart goes out to others who have felt the same sorrow💝 I am grateful for the higher power that seems to love and help me especially since my husband died two years ago🙏
pray for your dad and for your husband. i know you will feel them closer somehow. be blessed and protected! and do not ever feel alone because we have such a great God Who is with us and takes care of us more then our parents will ever do!

You are truly amazing. I had a 1972 dodge high top vand that had a sink, stove propane heater etc from the factory and traveled a lot in it. Just bought a 1982 Fleetwood Prowler 28 ft. I am revamping and at 58 yrs old hope to hit the highwaysxand move once a month or so. You gave me some wonderful ideas thank you so much.
"I sleep in my car by choice". Like you I always felt protective of the information I sleep in my car when I travel. But while sharing with someone one day she said, you sleep in your car by choice. So now I start out with that. And I have had offers as a travel to stay in peoples homes but I love the freedom to take 5 minutes packing the car and on the road. I am now ready though to move into Van Dwelling. The only thing that I feel I might miss? I love waking up at night in the car and looking at the stars through the car windows.
I love so much about Teri Lou's van build! A place for bicycles AND ROCKS! So much cleverness in this design. The cabinetry is awesome, as is the pocket door to the cab. Space for crafts! I wish she could build me one!

I am planning to do a Transit conversion too. I just did a two month stint living in my CHEVY TRAX to decide what I needed and what I don't. Definitely live in your car first because, if you can do that the conversion will seem spacious.
I agree with you Bob :) What I love about this van build is the craftsmanship- Teri Lou is a true artist! And she finds places in a very tiny space for the things she loves- rocks, lapel pins, and crafts! You can bring anything with you that you truly care about if you are willing to give up space for it :)

Nice, after living in rv for 10 years boon docking in Montana , the one thing I would change is refrigerator to propane -electric I only use propane for refrigerator and you would be surprised how little propane you use for the refrigerator, then you can use all the power from the batteries for other things. I have three solar panels , 4 deep cycle batteries, 1500 watt inverter, and the smallest jotul 602 wood stove in 27 ft rv and have everything I need and only use 40 gallons of propane, fill my tank[ 20 gallon tank] twice every 8 months for propane water heater and refrigerator. Love every minute of the freedom and no bills.
This van is KILLER GOOD! Just gorgeous and so retro chic. Beautiful woods and design elements. Functional and stylish, custom and cool, yet practical and logical. With just a little touch of rock and roll. Absolutely love it. ❤️ yes a toilet would be nice, but that detracts nothing from the sheer craftsmanship and artistry of this awesome van living space.

Welll the ideas actually can go back a ways. I had a nicely done 1969 Westfalia and an unbelievable interior in a 1957 Forester.

Everyone does a build a bit differently, this is definitely one of the better ones. If we could all be so lucky to have a someone with a wood shop! :)

Nice, after living in rv for 10 years boon docking in Montana , the one thing I would change is refrigerator to propane -electric I only use propane for refrigerator and you would be surprised how little propane you use for the refrigerator, then you can use all the power from the batteries for other things. I have three solar panels , 4 deep cycle batteries, 1500 watt inverter, and the smallest jotul 602 wood stove in 27 ft rv and have everything I need and only use 40 gallons of propane, fill my tank[ 20 gallon tank] twice every 8 months for propane water heater and refrigerator. Love every minute of the freedom and no bills.
That rolling pantry is genius. I'll use that idea in my new home. Also, her van is so clean and organized.

This van is KILLER GOOD! Just gorgeous and so retro chic. Beautiful woods and design elements. Functional and stylish, custom and cool, yet practical and logical. With just a little touch of rock and roll. Absolutely love it. ❤️ yes a toilet would be nice, but that detracts nothing from the sheer craftsmanship and artistry of this awesome van living space.
