The first thing to note about Twilight lore is that basically none of it is actual vampire lore. Once you accept that, you kinda just roll with it and it's more fun.
Also the majority of vampires in this world drink human blood, the Cullens are one of a handful of covens who prefer to blend with humans and drink animal blood.

Btw, Laurent (black vamp) left after warning the Cullens and since Edward can read minds, he could tell that Laurent didn't mean any harm to Bella and was telling the truth.

Like someone else said, this vampire lore is very different than other vamp lore. Some of these vampires also have specific powers while not all do. Edward can read minds, except for Bella's. Alice can see the future once someone makes a choice to go down a certain path. It can change if they change their mind. Jasper can control people's emotions or mood. You'll learn a lot more about the world and lore in the 2nd movie. Can't wait!

Thank youuuu for giving this a chance and not trying to make fun of it every chance you get! SO many guys who watch it go into it w the most annoying attitude that I can’t even watch them. Maybe it’s the fantasy element, or the romance, or who knows, but it’s infuriating! Thank you! Seriously! You’ve gained a subscriber!! Can’t wait to watch the rest w you. Also they’re all Pale there bc it’s a very rainy, cloudy part of the country. Thus the reason nearly everyone is pale. Yes, usually vampires burn in sunlight and are pale. In the Twilight universe, vampires have skin as hard as stone like marble or diamond and that's why they sparkle in sunlight. You'll see more of their skin's properties in the following 2 movies and also how Jacob and the wolf story come into play.

46:30 I think the reason you were able to enjoy it as much as you did is because your vampire knowledge is lacking. A lot of people can't get past what they know about other stories of vampires, but once you realize this is a completely different world, it's easier to accept the differences and also overlook some of the other issues with the movies themselves.
I know vampire lore and i see all the flaws with the movies, but i read the books and love the lore. i just enjoy what they've done considering adapting anything from books, but especially stories like this can be difficult, and a few things don't fully get explained well, but i can give grace😅
