Better looking than vw id series
not that hard :D
Really a nice little car. I have test driven it in Amsterdam for some kilometers. It drove pretty good. The front radar is behind the gloss black tech deck. It has total five radars. Thanks for a great walkthrough.
Can't wait for you to test this car😀
Literally only English-language TH-camr I trust... (there is one more in Poland, that is not kissing bottoms).
Can't wait for Renault 5 review!
The Hatchback of Notre Dame.
I own an Enyaq. I had a Karoq for a very long time before that. What I can say at first glance: the exterior reminds me a lot of the Karoq (especially in white like this). The interior is 100% Enyaq, except for the steering wheel.
Otherwise, the technical specifications seem to me to be the same as those of the Enyaq. In Switzerland, a model like this will undoubtedly be a success. I'd love to try it out!
I love the enyaq exterior, I'm sad they didn't keep that style
@@simonhenry7867 Personally, I like both looks. I won't be able to say which one I prefer. The mix between the front of the Enyaq and the back of the Elroq is probably the best mix 😂
This is actually an enyaq, but is 150mm shorter in the boot, but A-c pillar is identical including interior, doors and rear lights with new front end treatment
In Nepal, it’s called a Yaq
Yeah if you open the enyaq and elroq in the configurator and go to the side picture is looks exactly the same only that the enyaq is a bit longer in the back XD
Wow, they are really in love with putting "Skoda" everywhere. Like a dog marking its territory. Only it's a car you're supposed to buy from them.
Wow what an amazing channel. Just discovered you after seeing your nissan leaf tests. Thank you so much for making this. 🎉
Other 'premium' OEM's should learn from this interior!
This will sell well
I was looking at the tech specs and comparing the measurements between Elroq and Enyaq and guess what? Elrog is almost exactly the same size as Enyaq, except for length and trunk length/size, both of which are about 20cm shorter than Enyaq. Otherwise width, height, wheelbase length, interior space front and back are all the same. Interior design is mostly the same as well. So a "mini"-Enyaq, except not that mini really. I would just wait for the Enyaq facelift which should update its front look to something similar like this.
Those cars are already driving around Mlada Boleslav in Czechia. I've already seen many of them, even have been in one (the employee allowed me in).
I've driven it on the Škoda test circuit. It handles so much better than my Enyaq, it's like a Škoda Yeti
I like the shelves in the hatch! Smart use of space.
Poor man's what? It's just another upmarket crossover-SUV. Pull the other one!
Agree, I don’t like the terms of poor man x when price is 40000€, he has called Mercedes EQE as poor man EQS, 60000€ is for poor people house price, may be he earns 50k per month
This car is markedet for less than 300.000 NOK in Norway, that is 25.000 Euro. It is definitely on the lower end of prices.
@@musictube123 This car is markedet for less than 300.000 NOK in Norway, that is 25.000 Euro. It is definitely on the lower end of prices..
@@travelguy78 Maby in Norway it is priced resonably, but here in Germany it starts* from 34k €, and that is the bare bone model. Big battery + some options = 50k €.
@@musictube123 It's a tongue in cheek comment.
Looks like a spiritual successor from the good ol Yeti. Should have had a bit higher ground clearance though
Having a normal glove box that opens with a handle, and not via the touchscreen tells me this might be a good car
right, and for me the regular door handles - just perfect, functional design.
Very well-designed interior, typical Skoda.
Identical to the Enyaq inside
I hope skoda do an electric estate/tourer , I just don't like these cross over suv type cars
electric superb...
would be nice. i hope that they can manage to keep the foot space and not raise the floor too much like with every other electric vehicle
There will be a estate in 2026 if i believe.. question is would it be like id7 / passat range or more in the Octavia range
They actually have an "electric Octavia" in the plans, but it recently got postponed to as late as 2028, sadly.
Front door has double glaze window, so probably a beefier winding mechanism. Might account for the difference in sound of door closure.
Eventually - Skoda makes the ID.3 as it should have been.
Did we all get memory holed and forgor about the eCitigo?
Apparently…
Skoda still has not replaced the Citigo and was a waiting line for it. It’s an excellent city car and even more…probably Skoda has another similar model next year..but while it does not come to market, it is empty market.
What do you mean by "forgetting" about eCitigo?
"I can't even fist these cupholders." - Bjørn Nyland, 2024
🤣
That trunk is nice and I like the center console. Not bad, Skoda, not bad!
34k euro for 150-200 km autonomy in winter. Super.
Might be a tad too big to replace our '22 Kona EV in a few years. I'm more interested in the new Skoda Epiq when it arrives next year as a used buy.
It can not be the "poor mans version" it has powered window opening. "Škoda holobyt" version always have manual windows.
So many nice details. I miss hooks in the trunk so much (Model3).
Probably you felt the bonnet heavy because it has a strange mechanism, like in many other MEB cars, it pulls the bonnet forward while it's opening (you can see it has 2 arms per side attached to it). By the way, nice car, I can't wait to see some sedans and station wagons by Skoda!
Just a bit of not picking but did the key fob manufacturers not get the email about dropping the Skoda badge and has the paperwork in the car changed 🤔
It looks nice, and with the biggest battery it should be an interesting option.
The rear looks like the Seat Ateca rear... it's a family bottom.
What version or what interior package is it? I understand that the rear part does not have soundproof glass? I think it must be the lower version.
Our classic Ioniq is getting a bit small in the back for our kids, who will sooner or later be adult size. As my legs are long, the driver's seat needs to be quite far back (almost all the way to the back in the Ioniq). I wonder how the Elroq compares and whether that would be an option. Guess I need to try it out.
I have had Enyaq for 2 years now, and the interior of this new Elroq is may be 99% the same, there are quite a lot of familiar parts on the exterior too. Unless the battery and drive train are not something Wow, it is more or less the same car as Enyaq.
Please, Skoda, make a version of the ID.7 in this style!
It's impossible, because Skoda is not allowed to do that.
@@Jezar7 Why wouldn't they be? My understanding is that the EV wagon/tourer they have planned for 2026 will be to the ID.7 as the Enyaq is to the ID.4.
Much better than a chinese car at least there is service after sales
I'm a Skoda fan, drive my nineth Skoda right now (Karoq), but I'm a bit disappointed about this Elroq. There is not much progress in what is possible with EV. I expected more after the Enyaq. Chinese cars are why ahead and have better range etc. After sales for most of them like Xpeng, Zeekr etc. are no problem at all. The Elroq only has 2 years of factory warranty, where xpeng has 7 years. I think European carmakers have a big issue.
@@AndrePrins but xpeng hs no dealers, good luck getting a workshop if you need help
@@merzto They absolutely do in The Netherlands.
Chinese cars at this price incl. 50% tariffs, yes. Chinese cars at the same real pricing level, no.
Definitely interested in this cars tests ,more my size but will still be down to cost and it's range, do you know who the battery supplier is ?.
Looks very nice and practical, nice proportions. 10 point from me for the cable pocket under parcel shelf 👏
what interior trim is this? Looks like all leather seats that’s not available in the configurater?
Looks nice. A quick look seems to indicate that the base version is 300K NOK. Any idea on the price of other models?
Hoping it's competitively priced when it comes to Australia... second half of next year apparently.
@@deanstyles2567 they say from 350 for the 60
In the Enyaq, my phone was overheating pretty quickly while charging in that non ventilated space
The 2025 Enyaq upgrades the wireless charging slot to 15W and includes cooling. Probably the Elroq does the same.
@@andreaskofod-hansen5868 excellent, was a much needed upgrade
Its so expensive, yeah from 34k euro but get 1 upgrade, click 2 options goes up to almost 50k.
This car is markedet for less than 300.000 NOK in Norway, that is 25.000 Euro. It is definitely on the lower end of prices.
@@travelguy78 don't count Norway deduction with the rest of Europe, not the same.We all import petrol, not export , like Norway.
@lupesalex3910 Deduction? There is no Deduction of the EV prices. It's just given only a small tax compared to ice vehicles
@@travelguy78 25 k in Norway, 35K in Europe. 10 k deduction
So its just a shorter enyaq. The inside of the car is allmost 1:1. My guess its a little smaller then the model y. Wich is a little smaller then the enyaq. The center closter looks a little wierd, it looks like it should fit a larver screen in there.
its ENYAQ with a shorter boot……check it yourself
My thoughts exactly... At first glance it looks like a facelifted ENYAQ but also smaller too. Eh, cowards still not dare make a Skoda station wagon EV :/
Correct. Besides that it looks a lot like my curren Karoq on the inside, except for the infotainment screens.
What else would it be when it uses MEB platform. No point to make whole new model when eventually more cars are planned on SSP.
With a starting price below 300.000 NOK, this will sell like hotcakes. Within a year or two, i bet mr Tusk will regret not to have enterd this segment with a cheaper model(2).
mr Tusk is the elephant in the room😂
I wouldn't drive a car without ACC in 2024 even if it was for free... No idea why they opted to go for the cheap manual cruise control on a new car today. Last time I had this was on my 2010 Polo.
Is it based on the ID3 platform?
Of course not. it's a much bigger platform from enyaq and id4 .
Is tne warning triangle green?
Nice car, looking forward to test driving it.
Good looking car
What? This cars list price is same as karoq?❤❤❤🎉🎉
Tray on the back floor comes out if you have fifth passenger
Okay if you have to choose now, what should it be a Hyundai Kona in 2 months or this Skoda Elroq in 6-8months? 😅
Kia EV3 will be a competitor too soon. Quite a sudden increase of choice in this model segment.
@@Tom-bp6noI was going to say the same thing. But Kia EV3 is much more expensive in my country, starting with the most basic version (long range) of the Kia ev3 at €42,000 than the basic long range version of the Elroq, €35,000. In addition, the versions with the interesting features of the EV3 such as head up display, 360 camera, etc. raise the price above 50,000. On the other hand, I have a quote for the Elroq 85 with all the advanced packages (Maxx) for less than €41,000.
@Razor-pw1xn Interesting, thought Ev3 would be close on price. Thanks
It looks really nice!
I have already driving it.
A lot of shared oarts with the enyaq, pretty much an enyaq inside, including the too small cup holders😅
so heavy wow
If this is the base model there is no radar. It has no ACC last I heard. Only the old manual cruise control.
The Elroq 60 coming later will get ACC.
Very nice compact car, looking good :)))
This is definitely on my short list as a replacement for my Yeti.
The 85x with 4 wheel drive is the variant that interests me most.
By the way Bjorn in the back seat area the unit on the floor is removable giving more foot room to anyone sitting in the middle seat.
Too bad Skoda are not sold in Canada. The look nice at least on your videos 😂
"I can't even fist this cupholders"
Now i'm tempted to do that in my car... 🤔😆
12:19 looks like a Karoq with Enyaq lights from this angle
Skoda still with the tiny cup holders, whyyyy?
Always Be Closing Doors 😅
Much better car than Id3 at same price.
You have to be a pretty rich poor man to buy an Elroq... first edition is 56000€ 😂😂😂
299k NOK starting price. On par with cheap Stellantis cars.
Nice looking car, but why always that small display behind the steering wheel and that ugly big screen on top? Looks like the just glued a tablet on the front dingsbums (don't know the english word and too lazy to google it). Or maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy^^
Lfp?
Interesting review, so many (Chihuahua) dog pockets on this car! 😂
IMHO it lookslike Skoda ripped off the external design and some internal features from the 2022 Hyundai Kona?
what VW is this
Cup holders are too small, I won‘t buy it.
At this point can we please start talking about the frunk? Why is it still so rare, and more importantly why are basically none of the car reviewers paying attention to it? Car manufacturers will keep on producing evs without a frunk if reviewers won't start pointing it out
Atleast is has stalks, gearselecter and a permanent pop-out tow-hitch, compared to some other brand.... uhm... Tesla(service) suxs btw
Take it as bred
Why in the czechic hell do they include an ice scraper with an EV? 😂
not sure about skoda preconditioning, but even my tesla still needs it sometimes
@@eruveo I've never needed it. Even in the old days when we couldn't remote start A/C below 20% SoC, it was still the better (imho) solution, to just get in the car and blast the heat for two minutes.
The only winter accessoire that I sometimes need is a broom for the snow.
Because if you live in Norway they're useful to have, and save you a ton of time getting ice off the window. Signed, an EV owner who lives in Norway where it is cold and icy
Where is the chicken sign? Why? 😢
It`s an arrow, not a chicken. 😂
Poor Man Car😂?? Am Arsch😂
I like this Skoda. Usually they are extremely ugly and the price is definitely not cheap.
Extremely ugly? What are you talking about?
So heavy ... 1950 kg ?
2 tonnes !!!
Looks like everything is worse than in ID-models. Same platform, but worse execution (non-tilted screen, mini instrument cluster etc etc).
2 ton ffs...
3:46 i dont like that, it hangs in my legs
But people wants cheaper cars. Most EVs are too expensive
Yes and because of the price, people will keep for a long time, their old cars.
The Sooda Elroq is a beautiful car. But they should've changed the rear, it looks exactly like their older models. I also like the name SKODA being spelled out on the front. Better than that ugly chicken logo.
Not just the rear, there is too much black plastic on the outside that will turn grey over time, even when you treat it right. I have a Karoq with black rear bumper and side skirts...I never want that again. The Karoq has a Sportline version now with almost no black bumpers, but the Elroq Sportline still has. Absolutely no idea why....I hate it.
It's a winged arrow for goodness sake!!!!!!!!!
@@julianroberts5407 Nobody sees an arrow in it for sake! Besides that, you're wrong. Officially it's the feather cap of an native American.
@@Achillias I do and also the story about the native American is wrong. The arrow is for speed, the feathers for progress.
@@julianroberts5407 exactly.
Why is it so needlessly wide though? 1884mm? That's honestly crazy wide, to the point of being impractical.
That's not crazy wide probably to get the stock size battery to fit. it will still just fit in my 60s garage. but yes I would have been happier with a thinner car. I Want to down size from my current MK2 Peugeot 3008 for my last car.
Because it’s same as enyaq
True, the width is disproportionate. It makes sense in Enyaq, but not here.
Another MEB plataform SUV, nothing new...
Definitely for the poor man! I feel sorry for anyone forced to buy one 😢
That instrument cluster is ridiculously useless in size
❤❤❤
Poor presentation as you always deliver
Beautiful car. The video title is not nice or funny in my opinion.
It's only 10 cm shorter than ID.4/Enyaq . So don't get the point for this car.
15 cm less than the Enyaq. In some countries it is important that the length does not exceed 4.5 m. for reasons of space in the garage spaces
299k starting price
@@bjornnyland Crazy that 15cm equals 10.000€ difference
“El”roq? as in Elon. Imitation is the most sincere flattery…❤
Electric? It is a combination of the word Electric and Karoq, so Elroq 😉
@FrunkensteinVonZipperneck
stoopid fanboys always read everything, so it's a tribute to their god🤦♂So norsk "Elbil" is a tribute aswell? No of course also not, "El" s simply short for "electric". El -> Electric, Bil -> Car (short for norsk, automoBIL, guess even you can understand that in english).
In the Skoda's case, see Andre's explanation.
And it's pronounced "El" as in Al Bundy, not Eel as in Elon or the slimy fish (which is a great species btw, of course also not related to your god)
what a cheap plastic car :) In China, you get a decent car for that money
Let's go to China then.
EX30 is the better compact car imo
Not for me. No driver display on the EX30 & no buttons or switches. Same reason I would never consider a Tesla.
Not much leg space in the rear seats and much smaller boot on the EX30 make it good for max 2 people though.
EX30 seems to be way smaller 👍 I tried it and it is compact for sure.
❤❤❤
