You're nesting, no need to justify it. Love your finds. I like brass and copper both. I have my 39 year old sons Campbell thermos he carried all thru grade and high school up on top of my cabinets along with my dads coffee mug he used all the time. The two of them were very close. Along withany other items. It looks like a country store above my kitchen cabinets.
The brass like pull apart container... at 3:07...is a hairspray cover... what we used on vanity table or bathroom counter in 1960's to store hairspray can...looked much prettier than the can of Aqua Net!
You don’t always “need” to buy things you like. Sometimes you do it because you work hard and deserve to just get what you want when you see it. NOTHING is wrong with that! You earn your money- buy what you want!
I love brass not so much as decor but because of its anti-bacterial properties which is why in the old days they used to make door knobs and door knockers out of it....nice haul!
The antique fan and lantern, and the terracotta pottery piece is AWESOME!! You can use the tall brass filigree container to put your tall match sticks inside. 💖
I’m guessing you’ve heard this before, but if you ever decide you’re done with TH-cam, I think you can definitely make a living as an interior designer. Great taste and talent 😎
Great haul. I love thrifting and go for the same kind of things you do so appreciate why you chose the things you did. You have a good source to be able to find things like the lantern and fan. It's treasure hunting and a brilliant way to shop compared to going to shops with modern retail plastic mass-produced and over-priced crapola. You have no need to feel you have to justify your shopping spree.
Love the stuff, I also am a sucker for old antiques! It just has so much character then stuff u get today!, Love it Hannah, Stay safe hun God Bless you.🙂
Those are all things I would have chosen, I love vintage stuff. I recently bought a couple of ollas (the large ceramic jug). I think it is pronounced oola, like in oo la la. Anyway, before refrigeration was a thing folks would use them to cool drinking water. Nice haul, Hannah!
A neat little channel ya got here! I enjoyed this video but truly liked the video from Christmas with your pal in her garage. Fun to watch you two having such holiday spirit!
I have lots of brasses. When they are cleaned they look fantastic. Unfortunately they are not that fashionable in the UK at the moment. I like them so I guess that's all that matters. I love your carpentry skills and the things you build. I have wood working skills although I lack the vision that you have. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us.
WOW! I loved everything! Not in favour of smoking but I do love a lighter. I love all the pieces you bought. Metal is a beautiful material, especially when it works/opens/moves in some way. Thanks for sharing.
This is me going antiquing. I find what I really like and then.. well I have a small apartment that’s already pretty finished so it goes into a box “for when” I have a larger home 😂 but they’re nice to pull out when I want 5o redecorate or move things around.
That wooden bowl is called a dough bowl and they are cute for decorating with. I have a few and sometimes at the holidays I will wrap warm buns from the oven in a towel and use that to carry it to the table or put the jute string balls or rag bawls or other decor in them for a table scape. I love shopping vintage as well and def love the cleats from sailboats, drawer handles or pulls would be a cute idea for sure.
The tall cut work metal canister you said you might store pencils in was originally intended to hold a can of hairspray. It would have been part of a vanity set with matching mirrored tray, tissue box holder etc.
i love your eye for antiques!!! so many cool little things. no need to justify your purchases, sometimes it’s fun to treat yourself and you do have a whole house to fill with trinkets and bits and bobs! also your knife looks exactly like the front bottoms knife iykyk 😂
😊your home is so cool! I’d love to see a tour. New subscriber. I enjoyed seeing all your finds -as I too just like things and buy them for no other reason than that. You are drawn to brass. I am drawn to glass containers and vases and trinket boxes. And pictures and interesting pottery. And…. You get the idea! Anyway I think you have an engaging fun personality and really enjoyed your narrative on your thrift haul.
I knew I forgot to do something yesterday, thanks TH-cam algorithm (for a change) for reminding me to sub to the new channel! I love thrifting, est score last winter was a full length mink coat that is GORGEOUS! Thanks for sharing your finds.
Yes! Literally every single item was a masterpiece got me in the mood to go antique shopping myself, such a fun fun fun time and just knowing all the history that comes with the stuff, also your hilarious and cute and I want to be your friend 😂
Really enjoyed the lineage book mystery in the other channel. It did feel like beginning of a horror movie. Hope you'll find the mystery behind the book and share with us.
I have that same aesthetic I would have picked up most of your haul. I love a mix between old and new things. I’m definitely in the eclectic zone. But it looks very cohesive. I love historical things especially architectural elements as well as nature things like gnarly branches and cut foliage from the yard in large vases, rocks, feathers etc. I have that fan,I collect glass door knobs and pile them on top of each other sitting in a small glass cake plate as decor and it looks very cool, keys,…. This type of stuff along with some vintage or antique furniture spread around in my opinion grounds the room and gives a sense of history versus items that come from retail stores which lay flat by themselves. Do you use Barkeepers friend soft cleanser liquid? ( comes in powder form also). Well it’s some much fun to clean brass and silver items with. It’s quick too. I currently live on a mountain in North Carolina in a mid century stone house and the inside has those cool wooden panels. My decor style looks great here, but it looked good in my beach house too. So fun to curate with thrift finds!
your little cup has Abalone shell on it. Its a keeper. And yes that is the colosseum on that box. And the wooden bowl, is called a Dough Bowl. You can make candles with it as well. Its also a keeper. And just love that green/teal bowl with the gold trim very nice! I would also look into the glasses and the cigarette purse they look like antiques and could be worth a lot.
Hannah, you don't have to justify what you bought. If it makes you happy the go for it Babe. I rthink you got some cool things, and they make you feel good and that's what counts. Just Enjoy.
I feel like your style is always called “cottage core” when I’m picking up more of an inside the Disney jungle cruise treehouse vibe. It’s so good.
I call it jungle core or adventure core!
I call it swiss family robinson core
@@The.meadows omg yes adventure core
The thing door handle is a rope holder from a ship. 😉❤️👏🏻👏🏻 Love the brass theme. ❤️💯

I thought it was for incense sticks! I love that it is a vanity accessory!
You may think it’s all random but it all kind of fits. I love love love thrift and antique shopping myself
The poker is actually a toaster. You stick bread on the fork. I have an antique Scottish one I inherited from my maternal UK side of the family.
You don’t always “need” to buy things you like. Sometimes you do it because you work hard and deserve to just get what you want when you see it. NOTHING is wrong with that! You earn your money- buy what you want!
I was just about to make a very similar comment. We are just appreciative you are willing to share your purchases online. ❤

Really cool collection of antiques. Incan Burial jar type thingy is cute and looks authentic. Love the filling station sketch.
Ditto ..love the sketch🎉❤
I love brass not so much as decor but because of its anti-bacterial properties which is why in the old days they used to make door knobs and door knockers out of it....nice haul!
The scale is a vintage fish weighing scale! Love all the beautiful finds! 😍

I’m guessing you’ve heard this before, but if you ever decide you’re done with TH-cam, I think you can definitely make a living as an interior designer. Great taste and talent 😎

Hannah, years ago I owned a crab just like that. It was such a fun conversation piece!
