    Paul as always nice tutorial and thanks. It would a great addon if users were able to select the distance in order to search business's they want displayed to them. A drop down list with options to change distances from 25km-100km maybe. Otherwise this is a great feature which is appreciated. This options could be stored in cookies

    Paul, there are soooo many technology tutorials and videos that are just regugitations of the Help pages for the product. You examples are always relatable to, easy to implement and the video production is superb. WPTuts is my top go to for any thing I need to learn or refresh on for WordPress, Elementor and Crocoblocks. Please keep up the excellant work.

    Dear Sir,
    What an awesome feature by Crocoblock, God knows when Elementor will come up with such features.
    Whenever I see CB tutorials, i feel like Elementor is far behind CB.
    After a long time you have come up with tutorials on CB, specially Jet Engine, the most popular plugin of CB.
    There are many addons to Elementor, but not like Crocoblock, specially designed to replace Elementor Pro.
    Hope to see more tutorials from you
    Till then, be safe, healthy and happy.
    With warm regards,
    Yours student,
    Vivek Kumar ( Dehri On Sone, Rohtas, Bihar, India)

    This would have been more useful if the user could add their own address (rather than geolocate, i personally never allow websites access to my location) and also let them specify the distance so they can see results for how far they are willing to travel. Its a good first step i guess...

    • @WPTuts

      I initially thought that was the update, users searching and then getting results based on their search. I hope this is possible. Because the use cases would be awesome, such as a store locator.

    Despite Crocoblock is "Under Attack" in Ukraine, they did listen to our requests and they managed to deliver one of the most anticipated features in Jet Engine. Yet, another awsome tutorial. Thanks again. But, I think it is missing the user selection of the radius. I haven't tested this feature yet but it would be great if the user could set the desired radius.

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The documentation isn't really up there yet, so I couldn't easily find a way to achieve this. Possibly you can set a variable value in the distance field, but it's not obvious if that's possible.
      I'll wait to see what is covered once the official video covering the new features comes out and revisit this if I find some clarity on the topic. :)

    Interesting. You could actually get close to that before they added geolocation, just using the address details.
    What would be interesting is if you could reverse it. Let's say your businesses are mobile mechanics and they have a distance they are willing to travel. You would hide them on the map based on the user's geolocation. That would be useful!

    A slightly off-topic comment but also about maps.
    In your opinion, could site users be able to draw a kind of "intervention area" on Google Maps and include it in their profile, but without it being a radius of action, rather the choice of certain streets in a neighborhood?

Basically apart from settings I do not want to craete any posts or provide data in the jet engine. thanks

  • @jenniferward6821
    @jenniferward6821 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Paul - it seems a crucial thing is for the user to have a default “home” starting point, either from browser or from meta, but also the ability to filter the map, using cities, towns suburbs etc. Perhaps via a CCT with all the geolocations user could reference?
    Then the search for coffee shops mechanics whatever which is already easily done with Jetengine. So three options for that important starter map - 1) the geolocate of the browser - done, 2) the meta of the USER address (switch?) and 3) Heirachical selects of country city suburb .. sort of thing?
    Feels to me all of this is already possible, but my knowledge is to scant. Tut??
    it not possible to use a dynamic range filter on the page to increase / decrease the results one finds? Also if the USER sets up his home suburb, which is geolocated in a CCT, then can we use that as the start place of the map on the page? All sounds (vaguely) doable already?? Please do more on this?

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jennifer, from my own testing and watching the official Crocoblock video yesterday, there doesn’t seem to be any provision to dynamically control the parameters right now.
      I’m hopeful that this will change over the coming months as new versions are released.

    Hi Paul and a huge thank you for your tuts! They're perfect and you're great. Can I ask you something about map listings?
    I'm trying to customize markers in map listings. No problem with settings and SVGs.
    My CPTs are related via a meta field in their M2M relation which is not recognized in this situation.
    Just an example:
    spoken languages in different countries
    A language can be set as official in one country, or administrative in another country.
    In a situation like this one, I cannot set this language feature as a taxonomy term in language CPT, because it depends on the country that language is related to.
    Am I missing something? Maybe a special macro which I don't know anything about?

      Not that I've seen in the current version. Hopefully, we'll be able to set the radius dynamically. I'm sure there is either a way or there will be.
      Crocoblock tend to release features in a very basic format first and then gauge the user feedback and tweak accordingly.
      I'm sure all these features will be added to make it a much more usable function sooner rather than later.
