We shoot the show (green screen & couch stuff) on a Panasonic HVX200a. We shoot any extra stuff (skits & more cinematic stuff) on a Canon 60D. We capture footage from consoles using Canopus ADVC110. We edit using Final Cut Pro 7 on a MacBook Pro. I'm not saying that this is the equipment that you have to get but this is just what we use. I figured that I'd include that other info incase there were follow up questions. -Nick Murphy
I seriously think you guys are the best on the web for video game reviews. You play just like everyone else does when they get together with friends. And I think it's awesome that you guys do retro games. It takes all of us back to when we were trying to figure out the tough games as kids. They don't make games like they used to. Keep up the great work.
I got _Quest 64_ as a birthday present one summer. All I knew was that it was an "RPG," though I didn't actually understand what that term meant. The only other time I had heard the term RPG, was in relation to _Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars._ That game rocked, so I assumed that since this game was also and RPG, it would be great too. After playing it, I put together that RPG in general refers to turn based battles and numbers for stats. Also, we did not own a controller pack prior to this game, but this game could only save your data if you have one inserted. So, we lost progress and had to start over, as we were unable to save our game until dad went out and bought a controller pack.
Y'know, I agree. I was all about earth (friggin magnetic rocks!) and water (I needz the healz). In my mind, it's absolutely not a good game anymore, but if they had executed their game mechanics better, it could have been good...
Owen Thomas Glad I'm not alone! I call them "Shadow Tragedies." To me, the good/neutral/evil thing in Shadow the Hedgehog was cool, even though the game wasn't. Quest is like that on a grander scale...
+Tyler Tracy I feel like Aidyn Chronicles tried to do that by using the same general battle system, but expanded it by giving the player an actual party, and had more conventional RPG options for combat such as characters filling specific roles, various types of spells ranging from offense, defense, and support, and so on. Unfortunately it itself was plagued with its own problems, such as permadeaths, and (in my opinion) way to many types of stats and skills to try managing.
gurvmlk my mind goes right to the thing video game. Amazing concepts and systems (theoretically) in place, completely ruined by none of it working as the game claims it does. People turning into the creature is completely random, it was so disappointing when I found that out.
This was actually one of my favorite games when i was a kid. It seriously opened my mind up to the whole fantasy RPG genre. Leveling up my magic, combining base magic to create new spells, special items, boss battles, secret areas. Now I understand that it was graphically lacking, linear, and kind of a bland story line but my inner child still loves it and will always love it as my first Quest.
Man, I haven't played this game in forever and guys over @ ContinueShow decide to grace me with such nostalgia. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, my friends.
Hey there, welcome to our show. On Continue?, we play a game (usually one that we've never played) for about 20 minutes and decide based on that to Continue? (play again) or Game Over (never play again). It's all about first impressions & not serious at all. Check out some other episodes and have some fun with us. If after 3 or 4 episodes you don't dig it, no worries. No hard feelings. -Nick Murphy
Can I just say, every time I see a reply from the channel, it is always the most courteous, humble and friendly response possible. Kudos to being awesomely polite. Also I am thoroughly enjoying the videos as well.
This is a great show on the corner of the internets. You guys are an amazing influence on the channel to come. One of these days I hope to be as popular as Nick Murphy. And can only hope to be as cool.
wait i remember this game, it was called holy magic sanctuary in my country... It had the same animations for EVERYTHING. I didnt make it to the end... there were worse games though... but not many
This is another one of those games that, even though I've heard it's really bad, I still want it. :P The N64 didn't get nearly enough RPG's. So personally, I would continue. Do I expect others to do the same? Not at all. Haha.
I played the crap out of this game. I was stuck on am island and had to grind for days to beat a boss. I may have just been a dumb kid but it was like impossible
Indeed. The N64 really dropped the ball when it came to RPGs, especially after following the incredible library on the SNES (largely of course due to Square shifting gears to the Playstation). There were definitely some good ones, though. Only N64 RPGs I can think of offhand are Quest 64, Paper Mario, Ogre Battle 64, Hybrid Heaven, and Aidyn Chronicles. Sadly, on this subject, Quest is probably the worst among them.
If any game deserved a reboot on the gamecube, it was this game (though games like Mystic Heroes could have been some sort of reimagining I suppose). Still, it's never too late. Maybe someday I'll see Quest Wiiu or something...maybe...
At least Aidyn Chronicles tried to do better with the battle system, since I feel as though that aspect of Quest 64 actually did have potential. Too bad that game had so much other crap going wrong for it that it was arguably an even worse title.
This is genuinely the most fun I've ever had watching a retro video game show, and it's definitely the only "let's play" style show that I've ever liked. Thumbs up for you guys, I really love this stuff.
to this day nothing is perfect. and that game still ran awfully. I even remember as a kid how annoying it was. and I was a huuuuge fan of the first Turok game. so I was very disappointed in the sequel.
Layin' down the TRUTH David Bliss. Man, you have been around for forever, how you doing man? I think you were the first fan we ever mentioned on the show. - Paul
I started watching continue because I saw this video attached to the drunkstravagansa episode with jontron and i love quest 64. I love really hard games, and this one just feels so DND and rewarding when you finally get stuff.
Nick, your looking really good! Been working out? The 'jagged-ass' angles bring back so many great memories. The N64 is the best console EVER! And I've been playing video games since the Atari 2600. *I feel old* Love you guys! You make the mid-week something to look forward to.
I want to thank you, continue show. I have been dealing with a strong case of depression lately. I have to force my self to eat and get up in the morning. But whenever I watch your show it makes me laugh and forget about my problems, even if for a moment. Thank you so very much...
Why do I see so many hate comments on your videos?! Seriously why don't people get into you guys? It's opinions yeah, but still you guys have witty talent!
Thanks for the laughs tonight, guys! I haven't watched a lot of your episodes, but after hearing about you from Jon, I had to check you out here and there. Always good for a laugh and a lot of humor! I admire your ability to diligently do stuff like this!
guys please. you absolutely have to upload videos more frequently than once a week. it seriously kills me that i only get to watch you hilarious guys only on wednesdays. i wish there was a new continue? every day.
I remeber this game from my childhood & the horrible memories from that dark time were forgotten immidately from watching this awesome video.GAMEOVER all the way.
You make it sound like they're forcing everyone else to think it's bad. If it makes you feel better, this episode is what got me to track down a copy. And it's not GREAT, but as far as early N64 titles go, it's solid enough. Can't go around assuming that everyone's going to just take a video's word at face value. There's always going to be people who do, and people who don't.
All good man. Since you're new to the show, here's a playlist of some episodes to give you an idea of the show. playlist?list=PLC824C61B3E10A329&feature=mh_lolz Some basic info: We play for 20-30 mins & decide if we would keep playing (Continue) or never play again (Game Over). It's all about first impressions. Nothing is written. All improv. We know little to nothing about most games we play. If you watch some more episodes & don't dig it, no hard feelings. It's just not for you. -Nick Murphy
Listening at work and it sounds like the music in the background is constantly glitching like it's struggling to play at all. I tried to confirm this but these fuckers NEVER. STOP. TALKING. 😂
One of my favourite titles as a child. It's pretty bad sometimes, but long nights with chocolate milk in the Winter playing this game taught me to appreciate it.
2:10 I just realized that the text sound is the freaking noise the NDS alarm makes. I use it regularely because it's so annoying that I MUST get up and turn it off.
Great episode! I would love to see you guys play either Illusion of Gaia for SNES or Mystical ninjas starring Geomon for N64. Keep making amazing videos!
I remember playing this game. In Australia it was named Holy Magic Century. This game was balls hard as a kid. I still haven't finished it to this day. The music for this game is fantastic.
I think that is because of the major differences in the storage capacity of cartidges and cd-roms. The psx games may have stored images of higher resolutions so, when applied as textures, they didn't looked like cardboard.
i think continueshow should have their own podcast on thegamestation, where they talk about whatever they want....and maybe games if they feel like it.
This was my favorite episode because the best part of your show is when you start singing and i know the song and i sing along, and you fucking did it 100000 times in this one. I love you. Sincerely. Like, with a sin.
If someone does do that to their mom, please record it and put it in a video response!!! Awesome episode guys, laughed the whole way through! Keep it up :D
Rocky 4 has the single greatest montage song. Hearts on fire! That song is also one of the best rpg grind songs to put on, you feel like you are achieving so much!
I can't believe it's been 7 years since this video came out. I remember when this was new!

9 years ago, god damn where does the time go. this was the very first episode I ever saw, it just showed up in my recs again today lol

I love the impromptu Telephone Line ELO bit

I actually REALLY loved this game when I was a kid. It was challenging to me and I loved the music.
Y'know, I agree. I was all about earth (friggin magnetic rocks!) and water (I needz the healz).
In my mind, it's absolutely not a good game anymore, but if they had executed their game mechanics better, it could have been good...
Tyler Tracy very true indeed
Owen Thomas Glad I'm not alone! I call them "Shadow Tragedies." To me, the good/neutral/evil thing in Shadow the Hedgehog was cool, even though the game wasn't.

After finishing the Dragon Warrior Continuequest, it makes sense that Josh beat this two times.
Yeah man! They were both awesome dudes.
The song at 3:12 is Telephone Lines by ELO.
Saurons Mouth Clubbed to Death by Rob Dougan.
Man, I haven't played this game in forever and guys over @ ContinueShow decide to grace me with such nostalgia. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, my friends.
Still waiting for that ContinueQuest 64 Josh...
yes if you watch the Q&A with Dom Josh talks about that, and in one their Star tropics podcasts he talkes about it

Useless fact: Bumbershoot is another word for umbrella.
The other one was called parassault, which seems like a pun for parasol. Which is also a word for umbrella.
This is a great show on the corner of the internets. You guys are an amazing influence on the channel to come. One of these days I hope to be as popular as Nick Murphy. And can only hope to be as cool.
Was watching Jon Tron and recommended this show, you guys are funny as hell keep it up
Hey man, thanks for checking out our stuff! You're awesome. -Nick Murphy

We have our own podcast, where we talk about games (sometimes)... and whatever we want.
*JOEY! YOU'RE SO IMPRESSIONABLE!*
I know I played this when I was younger, but heck if I can remember a thing about it!
This is another one of those games that, even though I've heard it's really bad, I still want it. :P The N64 didn't get nearly enough RPG's. So personally, I would continue. Do I expect others to do the same? Not at all. Haha.

i never watched Rocky once..
i just know the part were he yells ADRIAN!!!!
Then you know more than I do.
You guys were a huge inspiration for my channel!
PROJARED SENT ME HERE!
It's more just like a rating where they say whether they would keep playing, but they don't continue on camera.
Turok 2 was shitty? WTF? That game was bad ass...
It ran terribly tho. The 64 couldnt handle that game. Really choppy, shitty frame rates. Hard to aim accurately because it was so jumpy.
It was the early days though, everything wasnt perfect.
to this day nothing is perfect. and that game still ran awfully. I even remember as a kid how annoying it was. and I was a huuuuge fan of the first Turok game. so I was very disappointed in the sequel.
a1rh3add well , theres the pc version which fixes that.
Layin' down the TRUTH David Bliss.
Man, you have been around for forever, how you doing man? I think you were the first fan we ever mentioned on the show.
- Paul
the moment they sang elo i forgot all about the episode and got that song in my head x.x
No we don't do anything like that. Think of it more as a "Thumbs up/Thumbs Down" kind of thing.
continue ... one of the highlights of the week. thanks guys!
I started watching continue because I saw this video attached to the drunkstravagansa episode with jontron and i love quest 64. I love really hard games, and this one just feels so DND and rewarding when you finally get stuff.
YES, I'm so glad you guys are playing this.
Nick, your looking really good! Been working out?

Only 52 weeks left until the next Fantasy Month.
Thanks for the laughs tonight, guys! I haven't watched a lot of your episodes, but after hearing about you from Jon, I had to check you out here and there. Always good for a laugh and a lot of humor!
I admire your ability to diligently do stuff like this!
Damn straight. Paul is going to be in PBG's Hardcore series. We're going to upload a video of Jon hugging all of us.
Yo what this was 9 years ago already???
guys please. you absolutely have to upload videos more frequently than once a week. it seriously kills me that i only get to watch you hilarious guys only on wednesdays. i wish there was a new continue? every day.
aww, the look at all that jewels tshirt is off center. Will it print like that?
The fact that you remember that makes me all the more your fan. You sir, are awesome.
Fuck you!
Just kidding man. Thanks so much for the kind words and thanks for watching! -Nick Murphy
Give em the three episode chance. Watch three episodes and if you don't like them by the third video, then move along.
Congratulations on a million views ya'll!
I remeber this game from my childhood & the horrible memories from that dark time were forgotten immidately from watching this awesome video.GAMEOVER all the way.
What an awesome thing to wake up to! I seriously loved Quest 64 when I was a kid, in retrospect.. Hell, I still love it!
what is it about this shows thats got me so addicted?
You make it sound like they're forcing everyone else to think it's bad.
If it makes you feel better, this episode is what got me to track down a copy. And it's not GREAT, but as far as early N64 titles go, it's solid enough.
Can't go around assuming that everyone's going to just take a video's word at face value. There's always going to be people who do, and people who don't.
"For now" Josh says, as he badgers the others for ContinueQuest 64 :P
Watching in HD doesn't improve the look of the game, but it crispens your beautiful faces.
I liked this game when i was 6, even though i just ran around and looked at things. I was so fascinated by exploring the castle you start out in.
All good man. Since you're new to the show, here's a playlist of some episodes to give you an idea of the show. playlist?list=PLC824C61B3E10A329&feature=mh_lolz

I don't know if I gotten to know you better through the videos, or you got better, but either way, you guys ROCK!))
its cool you guys like Tim and Eric. i have all 5 seasons on dvd and seen them live in Dallas.
Listening at work and it sounds like the music in the background is constantly glitching like it's struggling to play at all. I tried to confirm this but these fuckers NEVER. STOP. TALKING. 😂
a JonTron bear hug with Continue?? Paul on PBG Hardcore?!?!?!
OOOOOOHHHH MYYYYYYYY GOD!!!!!!!
The Gandalf discussion was incredible, I properly lost it when Paul went full on Italian.
Does anyone else point at the screen during the fantasy month logo in anticipation for paul to point back?
There should totally be a Game Grumps Continue crossover
One of my favourite titles as a child. It's pretty bad sometimes, but long nights with chocolate milk in the Winter playing this game taught me to appreciate it.
2:10 I just realized that the text sound is the freaking noise the NDS alarm makes. I use it regularely because it's so annoying that I MUST get up and turn it off.
Great episode! I would love to see you guys play either Illusion of Gaia for SNES or Mystical ninjas starring Geomon for N64. Keep making amazing videos!
These guys should play this for ContinueQuest.
NO!!! Thats a horrible idea....you guys should play Saga Frontier!!
YES!!!! another episode of CONTINUE!!!!
Don't worry they release a video every week so your son will still be able to watch the next Continue? video.
This is my favorite badgame ever. Josh, I can't believe you actually beat this. Mad respect, yo.
Nick Murphy you watch looks amazing what is it?
I remember renting this along with 2 other games. I played this for about a half hour if that much and have never played it since.
I don't think I've laughed so hard at JUST the intro min and a half ever. Oh my god. I'm crying, already. You guys are AMAZING!!
You guys need to do an Edutainment Month.
I want that Fantasy month scream and tone for my Text tone. So Awesome.
All the videos that take place during Fantasy Month, past, present and future, should be put on their own playlist.
I remember playing this game.
In Australia it was named Holy Magic Century.
This game was balls hard as a kid.
I still haven't finished it to this day. The music for this game is fantastic.
OG Neckbeard
Made my night
Quest 64 ('Holy Magic Century' where I am) is pretty difficult to get into to start with but after about 5 or 6 hours in, it starts to get really good
NICK MURPHY! YEAH! Sorry. I couldn't resist posting this. You are too hype for my body to handle, especially after a few Millers.

I love you. Sincerely. Like, with a sin.
It's somehow been six fucking years, but I hear Telephone and immediately think of this video and have to come back and watch it, absolute classic bit
wait gotta go watch projared first *comes back to this* these guys are in for some fun
If someone does do that to their mom, please record it and put it in a video response!!!
Awesome episode guys, laughed the whole way through! Keep it up :D
Josh is the ultimate gamer for finishing Quest64
I loved this game, I just talked about it to a friend for a few hours. It's fun.
Gonna miss Fantasy Month. Thanks for the hilarity Continue!
Send us an email and let us know what game (we might already have a copy) ContinueShow@gmail.com
great video guys you all make me laugh so much! please dont ever game over Continue?
Rocky 4 has the single greatest montage song. Hearts on fire! That song is also one of the best rpg grind songs to put on, you feel like you are achieving so much!
I played this as a kid. Seemed fairly awesome at the time... probably because there wasn't a whole lot of games like it yet.
i LOVE their banter at the end. haha they're a good group
