12:55 Can you cut the handle shorter to miss the gate?
The raised roof will be a great job on that shed. Drafting option will also save loads of time when done. Delighted to see all the little upgrades making life easier because you’re a fierce hard working family.
Great video. Could you make that crush handle telescopic to allow it to pass the gate yet keep the length for the required leverage? With the over long pedestrian gate at the front… use a coil spring system to keep it closed towards the crush rather than a bungee which will perish & stretch. Maybe put a Perspex canopy over the crush & race up to it to keep the rain off while working with the cattle and retaining the daylight, you could mount spotlights under it for working in cloudy weather or before dawn & after dusk? Well done on the improvements made so far. Keep up the good work.
Mighty job on the yard, very smart👌👍
You can get extra long hangers so that the dividing gates can swing fully flush with the small pens.
We have big frosts here in Poland today - 11
Here in Finland - 12 in the morning , but tuesday - friday we had -32 c . That's too cold for me.
@@jannejoensuu896 a tractor would want to be inside for it to be able to start in that temp ..........-15 was the coldest we had here in 2010 ..........it caused a lot of hardship ........
@@georgedoorley5628 Hello. A week ago when we had - 32 c , I saw Valtra tractor in action . It was doing snow plowing and loading woodchip and peat/turf into the heating plant . Here in Finland we have long winter . I live in west Finland and it's not even close to the north were it can be -40 or -50 c . This winter is long because it started in october . When I was young , I remember one morning it is - 41 c . I walk to the school 1,3 kilometer and year was 1987 . ( sorry for my bad English )
Great video phill I’d say best option is to cut the bar down to size to fit past the gate where it is not rather than moving it, it’s positioned at that height for leverage if you move it up high it’s awkward to move, great crush though best around!!
I agree this is far easier than messing around welding or changing the height of it.
Just expand the walkway next to the crush
- More room to work
- Space for roller cart
- Gate fits
- Crush operates without interference.
I was thinking the same 👍 cut a bit off the end and put that green rubber handle back on 👍
I was thinking exactly the same thing 😂
Great to see all the work done in the yard so quickly and early on in the year, kinnda nice to think so viewers helped by just watching you Phil, 👍
All great progress in the farmyard well done everyone 👍👍👍
Hi Phil. You said about a draughting pen, which is a good plan. But until then you could always buy a few cattle hurdles with connecting pins, also a hurdle gate or two. You could soon make up a pen and they really are so handy. Just a thought 👍
A old neighbour of mine used to say if he saw you putting up lights, “ make it bright enough to finish a job but not bright enough to tempt you to start one “. You and the boss reminded me of it when you showed the clip of you hanging the gate with the yard light up bright enough to film.
Great video farmer Phil and great work to
Phil, handle on the crush problem. Is it possible to move the fence out a foot, then the 3ft gate would fit the 3ft gap and no need to do anything with the handle. A bit of concrete to fill the gap where fence moved.
Otherwise another great video.
Yep, I would do the same . Post needs moved out into yard . Gate will fit , handle is at the right height for easy of movement, and the most important issue you will have room to work. thanks farmer phil.
Phil, crush looks great job.. regarding the bar that's fouling on your gate I'm thinking you could cut the existing bar to size then get either a bit of tubing that either fit inside or slides over the outside and devise a way the extension tube can slide in and can be pulled out to give you the leverage you may need.
Could also devise a hinge in the middle of the bar so it can hinge back to give you the clearance you need.
All the best for 2024
Cut that long handle on the crush shorter. Way easier than messing around welding bits.
11:33 can you just put a removable upright post in the middle instead of the small gate that cattle can’t squeeze past but you can?
A drafting gate for cattle will save you so much time and it doesn’t need to be expensive to work
Great video, Farmer Phil. I would cut the handle to suit the gap that is there. Instead of a bungee cord , I would use a spring.
Get a consaw asap and move the post at the top of the crush Phil. You’re sorting the pedestrian gate issue and the squeeze handle
Cut a few expansion joints in the new concrete too.
gotta laugh armchair expert
GOOD MAN YOURSELF!!!!!!!!
Great improvement ...will you be doing a bit on cattle sales for us ...grades/ weights ??
Did you see that?! Father Phil made that gate come up to him with his mind!!!
That’s a serious set up you have now. We love the Condon stuff. All well built and well finished. Best of luck with it all 👌
Great job to a great farming family. Can I suggest a roof over the crush at some time? so when it rains in the future those operating it can at least stay dry.
It’s on the list but a good bit down it more things to sort 1st😂
The 3ft gate buy the crush Phil, could you just put a metal post in with a gap big enough for you to squeeze through, but small enough that cattle can't get through? The squeeze bar, could you just shorten it drops down inside the gate? Great video again, love them 👍
Good idea
@@FARMERPHIL3690 love your videos ! Keep them coming 👍
Great to c some one better them selves
Job well done there, the bar for the squeeze crush, cut it in half and make a hinge for it in the middle, so it will fold down past the side gate and you will still have the lenght for leverage!
Widen the walkway next to the crush. Nothing wrong with more work space.
Love seeing your pigs - and hearing them.
That crush looks a super job.excellent video.
Fairly getting the farm tidied up now
Well Done Philip Keep Up the good work
Great video Phil jaysus it’s a mighty job it looks great FairPlay to all of yous
Looks grand Phil, hope it works well for you.
Well done Phil will make life so much easier and safer fair play to all of ye
Yard is looking great phil i know you said cousin is coming back to finish bits couldn't see on video but am sure you have plenty of expansion cut cause when the hot weather come "whenever" itll crack 🙈
Great job done with the yard lads, the 3ft gate at the crush you could cut the hinged bar off, shorten the cross bars to required length and re weld the hinged bar. A bit of work, but often did it. Good luck with the test,👍.
Great job. Now we need a MF 1200 update
Well Phil love your vids
New year, new yard, nice job. Never seen a squeeze crush before, great idea 👍👍
Good to see your videos. ✔️
Bar on crush ideas.
Shorten the bar or
Make it telescopic
Yard great job. 👍
Brillant video Phil farm is looking up yere great family to muck in fair play to ye outstanding people
Good job on it mate, looks great. For extra draft options, you could extend the race infront of the crush with some draft gates going different ways within the race. You can put arms over the top to work the off side gate from this side of the race. Or if wanted to get real fancy, air operated rams off switches at the crush. Be a one person job for a lot of your cattle work.
good job phil good luck with test ld
Can the handle on the crush be telescopic cut it and have a bar inside it that way you'll keep the leverage for the initial push and will pass the gate aswell when shorter
Very nice 😊😊😊
Nice job, well done lads 👏
Get a strong magnet for the small gate at front of crush
Happy new year.
Nice upgrade. If you go to the left try and make a loading bay off the pen .
Great video farmer Phil the yard is looking great
Brilliant job Phil will make life lot easier and safer 👍👌
All looks great we will watch after our evening meal 🥘.So glad you’re getting things done.Must be a great feeling to .Happy Sunday evening to our wonderful farmers the best in the world 🌍.
Very nice Phil, the yard looks great that should make things easier your cousin and Lee did a good job.
Rising shed might be a mistake if not enough of a fall especially if a heavy snow falls and accumulates on the roof. Revere shed make the gutter end the high side, and add a canopy if you need.
Ye shud of made up a spring loaded gate at the top on the crush of wud of been handy
Cut the bar at front of crush and get a piece of tube to go inside or over and make it telescopic then you won't loose any leverage
Great video Phil. Nice job on yard. Good luck on testing. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼
Great job testing will be a lot easier. Just in relation to the middle gate in the main dividing pens could u bring out the top and bottom hinge a foot each from the wall and the gate would swing back flush then
Great Video Sir ❤keep it up
Just look at a few 3 way draughting gates, put the two gates in front of the crush and you should be able to sort 3 ways
congrats on the new yard!
Everything is coming into place
Really great video again Phil. A few tower bolts on outside and middle dividing gates might be useful and safer. If cattle run against outside gate with the overlap they will swing in or out. God a drafting system would serve you well especially when trying to sort bulls for the factory. Less stress on them before slaughter. Did you get all your lights sorted around crush as your normally always sorting bulls in the dark.
Looking good lad's an lassie
Looking nice fp sir glad you all have a good Christmas
Phil, would you not be better moving the post at the head gate back 2' - 3' in order to give you no hindrances in that area. Or move the crush forward and fill in the source behind.
A lot to be said for having unfettered access at the headlock on the crush. You can then have your gate at an angle into the crush, if needed.
Contact a milking machine company that sell robots and get a one way gate that cows use to go though for front of crush were man gate is it will fit in ur space perfectly and it swings open and closed as u want but only open out so carrel can’t come down to you then u wone need any bungee cord
Great job on the handling yard! A pity to have to cut the crush when it was so well finished.
Happy New year to you all.
Well done Phil tidy job
Condons do some great stuff for yard improvement
Great improvements to the yard. Love to see people impriving farms. Can you not cut the bar on the crush to sqeeze it rather than moving it and if you could put a pole in midddle of space where 3 ft gate is and ye can get in and out but cattle cant.
You bump into tom pemberton when you are at Lammas. He be there wed Thursday as well
Very neat!
Shed will be a right job when u raise the roof ❗️❗️
Great job🤠
It`s all good stuff Phil , and we always like to hear what Father Phil has to say ; ----------- so could you please give him a microphone ? Cheers , and a prosperous New Year . From the UK .
Nice one phil looking good mate
Hi Phil would it make drawing cattle easier if the crush was fitted to a turn table. That way you could simply swing the crush to face whichever pen it needs to be in. Plus if you don’t mind me saying the release handle problem may be better solved by making the bar slide in and out of itself. If you shorten it or move higher or lower it may compromise how effective it works. Great videos I really enjoy watching and happy new year to you all.
Stick a backing bar in the gap beside crush
& bend the bar on the crush
Good job
Great job
The squeeze bar on the crush could you cut it and slide smaller box section inside it and make it telescopic?
Concrete looks good, but may be to smooth finish/slippery for cattle once cow poo is on top🤔
Could be to be fair they might have to cut grooves if it becomes a problem
Good stuff
Ye will have great comfort and I see ye upgraded you yard lights, great job.
Video on the slurry gear getting ready
Cut the bar and put a hinge on it too fold it up
Great job. It’s a very safe yard now. Where abouts are Condons based ? I hope to upgrade my crush this coming summer I might contact them. They seem good.
Where is your green and black coat from looks warm and I’m looking for a decent new one
Looking good bro what's next on the list to do now
Would you put a roof over the crush
Great job Phil. Regards your crush bars and gate, would it be possible to move your post out to suit your 3ft gate, and in turn cure the bar problem on crush, with making a balls of it all? Just a thought.
Could you not take off the handle and get someone with a pipe bender to Bend a bit of a curve into the end of it , loop it back on itself . Would kill me to take a grinder to something new like that 😂
quare handy yaed now
We are heading to LAMMA on the Wednesday so might see father Phil
at the end of the crush instead of a bar what about a chain
Well come ji
