I love sig pistols have every single P320 they make and this is probably going to be my next carry option. I just have not got around to buying one yet but will do for sure some time in the near future. Thank you for the video even though it's 9 years old it still can help someone make a decision.
I've owned & carried many handguns over many years. I had the P938 before going overseas for 2 years & now that I'm back in Colorado I'll be buying another P938 for my EDC. Best concealed handgun I've ever owned. A classic.
I have had mine for a year and no problems at all . For me this is the best for conceal carry. Mine is exactly like this one. I really love the night sights and that the front of the back sights are flat. This way if have to you can rack the slide by catching the back sight on your belt.
I have the one with the Hogue grip tan frame black slide and trigger. 9mm. Love this gun, just love it So light i forget that im wearing it. It has cycled every ammo that i have tried even hollow points to 150gr. No issues at all. Very nice..
I had my first malfunction today but it was the first time that I used the flush 6 round magazine. I think it was the combination of cheap, underpowered range ammo and a very stiff magazine spring. My only gripe about the gun is the plastic trigger. You would think that for $750 you would get a skeletonized metal trigger. My favorite thing is that it is very accurate for such a small pistol. The SIG V-Crown performance ammo works amazingly well in this pistol and is extremely accurate!
I like that you can rack the slide with the safety on. I've had a few problems with mine but sig made it right. One complaint is the two piece guide rod. Not sure why They did that.
Thanks for the video. Was thinking of selling my shield for this due to my Massachusetts Looong trigger pull on it! Did you fire a lot of Hollow points through this? Heard rumors that some have issues with failure to feed and eject. Any for you? I found a dealership that is selling the extreme model for $549 brand new.
Bought a p938, the extended mag wont fit unless I jam it in and then have to use pliers to remove it. Called sig and they want me to ship this mag back for replacement. Instead of just avoiding me having to lay shipping and go through the inconvenience of driving to the post office and sending me a new mag, they rather have their customers go through this trouble after I dropped 800 bucks on their gun. Not happy with their service. They could of simply asked for a picture. What the heck are they gonna do with that defective mag anyway. Anyways, on the flip side, I have shot 250 rounds through it and I haven't experienced not 1 malfunction. So I can trust it. I'll just have to buy springfield mags I guess.
Totally with you but company's like doing "quality control" when they ask for something back, so they can study it and figure out what went wrong with it. It's all to better the manufacturing process. Kimber micro 9 8 round magazine works too.
Excellent Gun. {my wife has the P238} Nice video !!!! I would suggest not falling too in love with those grips & try the Hogue grips made for that gun in that color. (You'll shit when you wrap your hand around that configuration) Also buy more 7 round mags, like 3 more . Cleaning the gun ?? Do this: “The BEST WAY to use FROG LUBE” You'll SHIT at the results , I mean it. It's a lot less work than it sounds, more efficient, cleaner procedure. After you do this once ,it will go a lot faster the next time. Hey I'll try to make this short best way for frog lube. NEEDED: hair dryer (NOT a heat gun), frog lube (paste is best), gun cleaning tapered "Q" tip if you have them {they don't leave fibers}, small pieces of “clean cotton” tee shirt, Field strip gun 1.) clean gun, one part at a time, with what ever you think gets it "clean" best, use a nylon bristle brush {lead solvent/oil/etc. (if you have to use a pick now & then for stuck grit, use it){ leave no "oil" when done} use something like gun scrub/brake clean to "finish" that dries clean & quick.( if you use oil, at all, small trigger parts sparingly "only" ! { clean & only oil "inside" of barrel, wipe it out, "as much as possible" (carefully/sparingly, do not to get "oil" anywhere else, not even guide rod “springs” after cleaning them) " {re-inspect for cleanliness} 2.) with supplies at hand, heat slide with hair dryer as hot as you can stand , inside & out ,{have glove to hold} immediately apply (with cotton tee shirt squares or “gun” q-tip swabs) "very sparingly" , just enough frog lube to just cover any area (should turn to liquid from heat). {outside of slide too}(well into the rails etc.) {keep it away from firing pin hole & channel, if your firing pin comes out easily, pull it, clean it , dry it, & use frog lube on it also, wipe it off very well. Do “NOT “ frog lube the firing pin channel , just clean & dry it. 3.) Let the frog lube sit for a minute or two on all the speperated & cleaned parts. Now, rub off "EVERY BIT" & I mean "every bit" , you can off , with the cotton tee shirt squares & Gun tappered "Q" Tips. Always finish with the TEE shirt. Leave none behind, ( some people do, It doesn't work that way, rookie mistake, it'll gum-up later)Try not to touch parts too much with your hands after done with each part.( the outside of slide & barrel will look GREAT ,also well protected) 4.) Do this with each part, the slide rails on grip/body, ) the outside of mags,(unloaded),{wipe out, mag well w/clean cotton square, alcohol.{ no frog lube inside there} Metal guide rod if spring is removable, (not the spring itself) every where on the "outside" of the barrel, only. Leave no hint of frog lube anywhere !!!! Your DONE !!
Trae UCity I haven’t encountered rust issues. I haven’t lubed it or put protectant on it either. The fact that we live in pretty low humidity climates probably attributes to this outcome.
I carry the 238 because it is smaller & lighter. Yea it is a .380 and I know what people say about it being underpowered but I feel armed enough with it. I do like the 9mm too.
I looked at the 938. Tactically speaking, the 290rs made more sense to me. I've never owned a pistol with an actual safety, and don't want to start now.
"A man's got to know his limitations." Dirty Harry Callahan Seriously, you have to be dedicated to the manual safety, as you can't be worried if you'll "remember" to disengage it.
It may be a single action but the trigger pull is actually heavier than a glock, plenty of people carry glocks which in my eyes have no TRUE (manual) safety. Get a good holster and I truly dont see why this gun cant be carried with the hammer back, in the holster. No safety on.
Too easy to pull the trigger when drawing it out of pants pocket as its crowded down there. Especially when you’re trying to go fast. Safety comes off super fast with simple flick of thumb with gun in hand.

The scorpion is so bad ass. I have the legion version.
I have the 380 version
Had my P938 almost 5 years now and it’s been my Primary carry more than not. Shoots incredible, very comfortable. 👍🏻

I just bought one of these. Can't wait to take it out to the range.
Ordered the P938 SAS. Can't wait for it to arrive. Thanks for the review.

Run about 250 rnds of ball through them and it'll polish up the ramp

Didn’t they send you a prepaid envelope or an emailed return label? Doesn’t seem like much of a hassle..
can I dry fire this? or will it hurt the striker? thanks
HG totally safe. Dry fire away and train!
Doesn’t have a striker, has a firing pin.
How does this compare in size and shoot ability to the 239?
I got the blackwood model, but I do like that model a lot

Are your sights and hammer rusting?

I was shocked at how small they look in real life
I carry the 238 because it is smaller & lighter. Yea it is a .380 and I know what people say about it being underpowered but I feel armed enough with it. I do like the 9mm too.
I feel like allot of people fail to realise a 380 is the same diameter as a 9. Just less power. A 380 is more then reliable for self defense.
I looked at the 938. Tactically speaking, the 290rs made more sense to me. I've never owned a pistol with an actual safety, and don't want to start now.
Right. No reason to be safe.
