On older Toyota pickups you have to do the same thing and cut the leaf spring bolt because it's right by the fuel tank as well I felt your pain Vinny 😂
It’s really easy to drop the tank in a Toyota tho. The skid plate is kind of a pain. I got a curved scar on my hand from taking it off and another one with the opposite curve in the same place from when I was putting it on. My favorite scar and a reminder of all times I’ve dropped the tank to weld the frame or flip it on its side and fill the frame with cement. Gotta love Toyota’s.
Light the area you're working on. Hard to see when the only visible things in the shot are the reflection off the wrenches and utter blackness. Otherwise? Pretty damn cool. Thats a hell of a rig!

I was just admiring those ecoboost projector headlights a few days ago. Those lights sure do update the front of the truck well. It looks like a much newer truck now. Sick rig Vin!
That cover is cool as hell even without the rooftop tent - much more manageable than the normal style with gas struts, don't have to take it off to put tall or long things in the back, really well thought out product.
Now when Vinny slides across the hood of his truck like hes from the Dukes of Hazzard, he picks up some serious speed now with how glossy the paint is!
In our beautiful vacation beach town in Maine, an hour outside Boston, we don't have to worry about locking the bed of our diesel one ton work truck or our badass Jeep JK or TJ or even the 84 yota runner with a small block. Hell we don't even lock our doors. Glad I don't live in Cali and glad we have guns. Love the truck Vin and to tell you the truth the tonneau cover is functionally pretty slick. Ugh I had a 2012 raptor. I loved everything about the ext.cab with the shorter bed. And yea the uppers! I bought the truck initially to chase for my 1450 race truck and immediately I knew the first upgrade was the uppers. Unfortunately being young with a bunch of kids and a racing program to support I had to sell my raptor before I got the chance to make it what it should've been. Economy has been in my favor lately and I think after I buy my wife her CTS-V she's always wanted I will get me another ext.cab 1st gen Raptor. God willing! Keep all your fingers crossed guys! Lol
The leaf springs are going to be softer for travel so when you go to tow it's going to bottom out definitely recommend airbags for Towing so your leaf springs don't start to sag later Bump stops are for bottoming out Offroad definitely get the gusset for your frame for the rear bump stops

Dude, I JUST did this on a 2018 F250 and dropping the tank enough to get the bolt out was like 8 easy skid plate bolts, 4 bolts for the tank, and a filler neck bolt/clamp. On a trans jack... Swapped the leaf spring, and 'reinstalled' the tank with skid plate. lol.
This is one, IF the cleanest build i've seen. You know how you can go overboard with you theme, or just do it bad? No problem here, i'd actually think this was was a stock unit, but it looks better.
Vin have you done the frame rail reinforcement plates yet? I don't want to see you with a bent Raptor frame now that you've done all those upgrades. Seems like cheap insurance.

You should look into lower control arm lock out plates. The stock ones are horrible and always throw alignment off but with adjustable upper control arms they are rendered useless. The plates bolt or weld right on and keep your alignment perfect offroad.

But Vin, you either need to lower the suspension or get some big'ol Johnies like some 32's. I'm surprised that Hert hasn't flamed you cause us Florida boi's know how a truck should look.
The whole gas tank bolt thing is exactly my problem with Fords they're not bad trucks but if/when they break they are a pain in the ass to work on sometimes.
Where did you wire the headlight ground wires to? if you didn't use the stock ground points behind the radiator support I guarantee that you will have issues. I've done two headlight installs on raptors and it will cause issues if not properly grounded.

I love the premiered switches. I hate wiring and really suck at it. The connection area in the passenger door jams sucks to get to for connection. I can’t afford to do much as far as mods. I’m barely affording the truck in it’s stock form. I need to find a company that would trade mods for using the truck as a mobile billboard. I’m sure that’s just a pipe dream and should just be happy with what I got.

Love the way you mounted that bed rack. I went with a similar system only I didn't use the risers so it only sits about 4 inches above my cover.
