Magus was such an epic moment in the original and then gave so much information about what was really going on. And it's such a surprise when he joins. All around one of my favorite characters and themes.
Man, Battle with Magus is like the ONE classic VGM song that I've just never felt anyone has covered the right way... I really just want the kick-in after the intro to come after my head with a sledgehammer, y'know? Some huge angry guitar slide into just a shit ton of noise and blaring doublekicks or something. THAT BEING SAID, I really like this rendition of it. Actually all but removing that intro-to-main-song transition suited your overall style a lot, and it keeps the flow going really nicely. Also, the alternate like... 4/4 swing??? Second run through into the solo was REALLY good. I feel like rock and metal guitarists can get so carried away with solos so easily and go so far outside of the original song that it loses the vibes, this didn't do that at all, you kept to the melody enough that you didn't lose the feeling but still managed to compose a really interesting and original solo for it. tl;dr sick cover :3
