My favorite has got to be Lightning's theme. She is my favorite character in any game I have played to this day and I think it does a great job conveying the kind of personality she has.
Amazing music. Awesome performance, kudos to the both of you! It got me thinking about FFXIII a little bit. It's got a banger soundtrack, and Masashi Hamauzu deserves way more credit than he gets. I think people have been able to look at FFXIII a little more objectively today with the decade they've had to distance themselves from it. A lot of criticism it gets is still valid, but it's really cool to see some people go back and appreciate how deliberate and confident the game was in its choices - regardless of whether or not you actually liked them. That sense of boldness in the FF series was lost for a long time (especially in its very apologetic and overly cautious sequels), and didn't really come back until both FFXIV got really strong, and FFVII Remake was so well received (which interestingly enough, has a lot in common with FFXIII's design philosophy, including the dev team itself).
Lot of the problems were story and character related. while the linearity and majority of the game becoming unrevisitable are the bold points, fundamentally it was balanced far as combat and level progression went, never really felt too weak for a zone while at the same time the game never became a cake walk either and the combat was fast pace with more focus on knowing when to use what paradigm rather than what skills to utilize at a set time. While it was a hit and miss the battle system was a creative concept that required some more work but nobody can say square enix isn't taking risks and is playing it safe like the pokemon company has done for decades.
I think a lot of people would really enjoy this game now removed from all of the expectations they had during its launch. Things like linearity and the battle system, a lot of the bitterness stemmed from what people thought FF games were supposed to be like, and XIII didn't match any of it, was even doubling down on that direction. But now, the playerbase is more accomodating to changes. the game really isn't bad. It's not perfect, but there's so much to love despite -or because of- the flaws. Such a charming game at its core and so much of the bitterness stemmed from things inherent to those times. It paved the way for the community to widen the range of what they're accepting of a FF game to look like in a lot of ways. Stepped into the rainbow, found another view, one could say

FFXIII’s standard battle and boss themes were way up there. And some pieces like “Dust to Dust” and “The Cradle will Fall” had some really cool missable elements if your low end wasn’t good enough.

I hated this game and always have just because of the linear corridors. It was basically 100% on rails if that makes sense, whereas FF 1 - 10 and 12,15 had quite the substantial amount of freedom with traveling. The soundtrack has always been in my playlist though

Something that I liked about the original song is that It makes my subwoofer shake, it will be good if you added some bass, great cover.
