Last year, I just discovered Interpol playing "Anywhere" on Jools Holland show. Immediately fell in love with the whole sound. So the last 6 months ive really only been listening to Interpol, their whole catalog. I have most of tracks and have the full albums TOTBL and OLTA (actually paid for ALL I own). "NOT EVEN JAIL" is the one most dear to my heart. Followed by "Anywhere". (seen live in Tucson 4/8/2015) That's my story.
Guys... I've been a lifelong Interpol fan (from Scotland) and All The Rage Back Home, Anywhere, My Blue Supreme and Everything Is Wrong are up there with your best. Fucking awesome job on the record. The drums are particularly special this time round. Hope to see you soon...
What a surprising record its like the ressurection of interpol. Our love and self titled had some good cuts but this new one might be my favorite. The purcussion in particular is so beast and I feel they really uped their technical skills. Good job guys hope the album and tour does well.
This is 100% my favourite album since TOTBL and Antics, and I think it stands up with those two as well. The lyrics on this album are just beautiful, and I loooove this new yet still completely Interpol sound they have going on. Yes Carlos was an amazing musician and yes its still okay to get nostalgic about Interpol's days with him but like with Arctic Monkeys and AM, y'know, bands have to change and evolve, its how they stick around and stay relevant; and Interpol are totally doing that AND MORE. god I love these guys.
since you mentioned Arctic , Alex Turners girlfriend shows up in "everything is wrong" video at 0:58 :) , although AM are insanely great band, Interpol always had this heavy feel to it that i preferred , been a fan since evil (Antics) and can easily say lyrically THE BEST album
The gig at the winter gardens in Blackpool England was truly amazing and loved the songs old and new. I still tell strangers about seeing you there. Good luck guys
Before I went to my first Interpol concert it was at the time of El Pintor. So I bought the album and listen to it for 2 weeks before the show, and quickly became my favorite album, I didn’t think anything could top turn on the bright lights. during the concert they didn’t play very much from previous records but i was not disappointed in the least! loved that concert!
You guys are awesome. Your music is a plesure for my soul. I follow you since the begining of your career. You are one of my favourite bands in world!!!
I'm loving this new phase. But I still wondering why the hell they didn't add "The Depths" to the album. I mean it's awesome. But well, they know that they do.
They should've replaced "Same Town, New Story" with "The Depths". Though Same is good, Depths is just better, ESPECIALLY the solo at the end. It just has so much LIFE to it!
Andy Carreon Not anymore Andy. That was just a pre-order option. Since the album's release on 9/9, you have to look around to find it. I've seen at least one pretty high quality version (266 kbps) out there on Google. Also, Malfeasance (Target Bonus Edition exclusive) is another new bonus track too. I think it's good, though Depths is better. Look for that as well on Google.
Andy Carreon I'd found it Googling "El Pintor The Depths". You can try adding the words "download" or "mp3" in there too. Not sure exactly now as it was a week ago. But 266 kbps is probably what the iTunes pre-order version was. Anything over 256 kbps is really good, while 320 kbps is considered the highest quality possible. I listened to a 128-192 kbps version of Depths and I could tell right away it wasn't as good. The drums did not have as much power to them and the volume was lower too, even at the same volume setting as the 266 kbps one.
Andy Carreon That'd work too. The only thing I hate about torrents is the odds are it will have some viruses or spam included in it too. It's best to only use trusted sites (if there are any? lol).
Love this! But I'm surprised Paul thinks that, I feel that Anywhere sounds amazing live - from the videos I've seen on YT. And about the set list: I feel Evil, PDA and Slow hands are okay songs but I'd much rather hear - Precipitate, song 5 + 7, mind over time, the new, a time to be so small...... But w.e can't wait for the new album and to check out the NME magazine which they're on the cover for!
We all love to give it up to Carlos...but this album showed that Daniel Kessler could drive the sound with Sam. I love the fact that they took a lineup change, and they found a way to grow from it.
Man I miss Carlos in this band. I know he wanted to do something else and yeah people can do whatever they want but still I was in my teens when antics and bright lights was on fire and seeing him absent is a bit weird
Dam Paul looks ruff lately,It would be so much better if Carlos was around.I loved watching him live,he would where that gun holster and I all ways wondered what or why he had it??
Sorry but, no one played bass or came up with the kind of basslines that Carlos came up with. His basslines became so integral to the overall sound of Interpol and ever since Carlos left, it just hasn't been the same to me. I can only imagine where they would be now if things with Carlos D. hadn't gone south. There's a difference between coming up with a simple bassline that compliments one song and coming up with basslines that *_SOUND_* simple but aren't plus wind up carrying the whole album. Anyone with enough experience can mimic or copy a bassline but, only the person who *_created_* them and played them in their own unique way knows how to make them sound amazing by their own unique feel when playing. Sorry Sam but, Paul pales in comparison to Carlos D. on bass duty...
The only bassline I enjoy on El Pintor is My Desire near the end where it starts doing the octave jumps like in Slow Hands which Paul clearly was inspired by Carlos. Can't even remember any of the other bass lines of any of their new songs at all, they just kinda are there. Carlos' bass work makes me shiver with how fucking epic it is.
I like that Sam knows that he killed it on this record.
My only question is why isn’t this a full length movie?!!! I would pay top dollar to watch more. They are such an amazing band.
Amen!!
so cool how Daniel has his own look and body movement when he plays, could see a silhouette and know exactly who it is
so true!
Undervalued guitarist

Not Even Jail, on top of being a fantastic song, is fucking elite live.
e3mada glad you could join us!
two great artists with lazy eyes, Thom Yorke and Paul :)
i have always
thinking the same!
Honestly this album is up there with Antics and TOTBL. Yes twice as hard as the opener!!! Such lush sounds ))))
I love you guys ❤️
I still wanna play the bass in this band.
Hahahah, me too. Hearing untitled for the first time got in to playing bass like 8-10 years ago
Same
You're not good enough.
Love the new album, and while Carlos was a great musician, I can still appreciate the new stuff that the band has come up with.
This band has so much more area to explore and this album must set fans at ease.

Now go vote for Freedom!
I actually think this is the best album they've ever made. At first it was opaque to me but it grew on me quick. It's genius.
El pintor is a great album
0:01 Twice As Hard - a killing end for a great album.
willfslima Totally agree 100%! Great lyrics and it flows perfect sonically.
I would pay a lot of money to see a full length movie about your music making process. You all are geniuses.
What a surprising record its like the ressurection of interpol. Our love and self titled had some good cuts but this new one might be my favorite. The purcussion in particular is so beast and I feel they really uped their technical skills. Good job guys hope the album and tour does well.
Everything is Wrong is my favourite on the new record! Great work Interpol
Carlos, Samuel, Paulo, and Daniel. El Interpol la mejor banda!
amen brother 💖💜
The best band ever.
Thank you for all the joy you bring us, the fans

Loved this album! I wonder what Carlos thinks about the new album or if he even gives a shit.
Interpol is not meant to break up ....

You guys are awesome. Your music is a plesure for my soul. I follow you since the begining of your career. You are one of my favourite bands in world!!!
My Desire and Breaker 1 are my favourites!! Can't wait to get the album.

I bought today this record , I really had to have it , it has become one of my favorites

What is song 5+7?????
I am so excited for the new album. My goodness next Tuesday is going to be incredible!
God Paul looks old and he's the youngest member. I'd still French kiss him and his beautiful voice though.
They're all quite mature, so it seems whenever they're interviewed.
how do you know paul is the youngest member? i have never seen the date of birth od daniel and Sam...??
Viviana R C sam is 52
Probably the smoking that has attribute to Paul's look.
@@comedian2479 I love him but I'm gonna be so sad if he gets lung cancer. :*(
Cuándo sera el dia q vengan a Costa Rica....

Does anybody recognise Sam's beautiful jacket by brand/type? Would love to know more information about that piece. It's very stark.
I say their best album. Nice job guys
We all love to give it up to Carlos...but this album showed that Daniel Kessler could drive the sound with Sam. I love the fact that they took a lineup change, and they found a way to grow from it.
Same Town, New History e My Blue Supreme.. sensacionais
Guys... This is SUPER!!!))
This was great insight, thanks very much.
I'm not saying that Paul's left eye is lazy, but it's definitely collecting unemployment. I'm digging the first half of this album a lot.
He's got a song where he mentions his lazy eye
The Sloth. Yup, Rest My Chemistry. Great song!
LMAO!
qtbrown haha, way to turn a phrase
He might be hanging with Forest Whitaker
5:19 Paul turns wine into water!
i've seen James Brown many times working with Butch Vig on Foo Fighters records, so cool to see him here too
I remember the days when I only liked "Slow Hands"
Ya los extrañaba.
their live bassist reminds me of Noel Fielding.
Omg yes!!!
SOUP SOUP, A TASTY SOUP
Their best record imo.
Great album. Unfortunately they don't play much of El Pintor live anymore.
Damn they lowkey hatin on my boy Carlos in this one
7:08 It's staring into my soul
Man I miss Carlos in this band. I know he wanted to do something else and yeah people can do whatever they want but still I was in my teens when antics and bright lights was on fire and seeing him absent is a bit weird
He regrets leaving but he wont outright admit it.

Is it me or does the right side of Paul's face look old and the left side looks young?

Dam Paul looks ruff lately,It would be so much better if Carlos was around.I loved watching him live,he would where that gun holster and I all ways wondered what or why he had it??

Bring Carlos back !
CARLOS OR NO ONE
Years of handa out of wikipiedia and wher and deserved payment ....
Paul really is good bass player, but I do prefer Carlos D.
Big eye little eye.
The guy in the keybords sing soooooo bad
