Please post more of these wonderful shows !!! A very clean show , I love the gospel songs at the end , and the fact Buck was humble enough to give time and thanks to the Lord each week. You don't see that on TV today when it's about me generation. Buck is a class act all the way !!!
So proud of being a friend with Tommy Collins--a super guy who was responsible for getting Buck into the music business---he was also responsible for Merle Haggard getting into the music business----they were Tommy's guitar players before they became mega stars and also Tommy wrote many songs recorded by Merle and many others. Tommy was at our house for meals and snowmobiling----and Buck was on Hee Haw and sang with Susan Raye on Hee Haw and she Married Buck's drummer---her cousin was married to my dad's cousin.
Tommy helped a lot of people. He was very important to the "Bakersfield" sound. Went to Nville for 4 years just to confirm I'm a "Bakersfield Groove" man.
The harmonizing vocals between Don and Rich is classic legendary country stuff done so well… When I think of country, the buckaroos certainly are one of those bands that come to mind….. keep on rockin
And The Blue Ridge Quartet bringing us Southern Gospel!😁 My dad had a bunch of albums, with the Blackwood Brothers, the Statesmen Quartet, etc... Bass, baritone, first and second tenors... what a winning combination! The harmonies!
I would love to be able to go get tickets to go see just one of the these shows Its hard to think that they are all no longer with us - but -still in our hearts.
I don't think there was ever a better combination of country music players than Buck and Don and the Buckaroos. Buck and Don were just so damn good together.
I saw somebody say “Dons smile could cure cancer’... I must agree.. That dude HAD to love life.. What a huge loss to lose him so young...HOF material for sure…
"Open Up Your Heart" is the proto-typical Buck penned song. Like "Love'Gonna Live Her" and many others, he sees blues skies and sunshine if only his love returns his affections. It's tension is in the present state where his love's return is uncertain, but he's optimistic in the future. No pessimistic blues here although he wrote a few of those too. Search out all the other early Buck episodes on You Tube. He usually opens the show with one of his great self- penned songs.
douglasd53 Buck played a lot of the lead guitar on the instrumentals. And it's interesting to note that Don didn't always sing the high harmony on their records. Most of the time it was Buck singing harmony with himself!
This is the "REAL DEAL" Folks. I was 5 watching this show and already playing drums on boxes w/spoons to this show......I'm 61 now and STILL playing and Singing these songs,& they're "floor fillers"!
Yes he could have I got to talk to him back then I ask him that .He said he did some show on his own it was nice .But he said he like playing with Buck an the buckaroos better .may some day he would do that but hope not for a long time
I knew he was an acclaimed session guitarist in the 50s… but I had no idea ol Bucker could shred like that! Amazing to see Don on rhythm guitar for once, wish he could’ve stayed around a little longer…
I sometimes wonder if Don felt held back sorta like he wonted to go out on his own and make a name for him self he was so good and everyone loved him and he knew it and I'm sure that he was told that by others just a thought never the less I still miss him so much thanks Don for such awesome intertanement you were the star.
The Buck Owens Ranch show ran in syndication across the country and pre-dates HEE HAW. It started in 1966 and ran until 1973. I believe there were about 103 episodes. There are only about 3 of these episodes available on DVD and you can order them from www.buckowens.com website. The Owens estate owns the show. Only reason I know is that I worked for Buck at one of his country stations at one time.
Unfortunately CASHville makes it damn near impossible for any TRUE COUNTRY TALENT to make it big. Now all that floods the airwaves is rehashed 80s hair metal with a fella out front over-accentuating a southern drawl to try and fool us into thinking he's country. JUST CRAP!!!!!
Buck was a business man too! No go fund me page for his funeral. Radio stations, club, land and the assorted books he sold on the show. Hee Haw wasn't his favorite gig but he cashed the checks! And he would have donated every penny to get Don back. Too bad that doesn't work.
The Fender acoustic guitar That Buck played, Some people say, what’s not as good as in Martin or Gibson. The way Buck made it sound good He’s really making chicken salad out of you know what.
This is the first episode that the 66 Silver Sparkle Telecaster is shown. Fender probably wanted it on television ASAP, seeing as how Buck had a Fender endorsement, and Don might have not had time to get it broken in all the way.
Don Rich-MASTER CLASS at its best!
Don Rich was and will forever be impeccable...not enough flowers can be given to this man for his talents
I loved Don Rich so much... wow.. when he smiles ,, melts my heart...
A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do really reminds me of Louisiana man.
Great all American music!
Darn it's easy to see why Buck and the Buckaroo's ruled the music charts in the 60's that's a tight band,Don Rich could flat play!
See him bend the heck outa them strings!!!

Great info. Knew a little of Tommy's story through Merle's song "Leonard."
Please post positive proof pronto

I got to play with Willie @ the Nashville Palace in the late 90's.

Always liked "Leonard"

this is awesome! Don on guitar is wonderful with those harmonies! unbelievable
!
Drummer Willie Cantu and Kay Adams the only performers still living as of May 2020.
Yes, Willie was always a jazzer and I think is still playing jazz but he has very fond memories of playing with the Buckaroos !
Nobody had that slightly goofy but incredibly endearing screen presence as ol Buck.
That song don did should have been a hit it was great and he performed it perfectly .
And The Blue Ridge Quartet bringing us Southern Gospel!😁 My dad had a bunch of albums, with the Blackwood Brothers, the Statesmen Quartet, etc...
Bass, baritone, first and second tenors... what a winning combination! The harmonies!

Such a tragic loss of a supremely takented man whe Don Rich was killed in 1974..RIP Don Rich
Just got Don 's CD album it has this "Out of my mind" its a great CD really love Don's playing!! RIP Brother!!
I saw somebody say “Dons smile could cure cancer’... I must agree.. That dude HAD to love life.. What a huge loss to lose him so young...HOF material for sure…
They are very good singers I know for sure God blessed them
Kay Adams on "Little Pink Mack", backed by The Buckaroos! 😀😀😀
I didn't know Ol' Buck could pick a Telly like that. Eat yer heart out Angus Young.
Manny Badabing muito ben
He also the one who taught Don Rich to pick that tele when Don still played fiddle
Would love to watch more of the show.
Love Don, sweet guy! 🥰
I would love to purchase that record and book!
Wow! Who knew Buck could pick like that.🤔
3:17 dontcha just love when a new trick works out? Don finishing the song off the fretboard and the smile, classic.
Don was great. I didn't realize how great Buck was on the guitar until now.

More episodes please!
We need shows like this on tv NOW!!!
Wow,seeing the ads during this Buck show really shows how our country has deteriorated.
absolutly super
I love them suits man look expensive
They are all very talented musician
Love their harmonies.
I knew Buck was a great singer, but I didn't know he was such a great picker also!
douglasd53 Buck played a lot of the lead guitar on the instrumentals. And it's interesting to note that Don didn't always sing the high harmony on their records. Most of the time it was Buck singing harmony with himself!
Buck started as a guitar player. Roy Nichols played on Buck's early his with Ralph Mooney on steel.
Maybe Roy Clark was the "star" in their Hee Haw Picking and Grinning segments, but Buck did alright!
I just love Don Rich!! He was so good.
I will miss them so much, their music is good
Gold. Love Don’s perpetual smile-makes me smile. Miss both you guys
Was not familiar with the Blue Ridge Quartet but at least they're preserved for posterity here on video tape.
My Grandma's friend played At The Big FRESNO BARN 😊❤🎉😊
oh don with that million dollar grin...
Great stuff!
Muy bonita música gracias

I opened for Buck Owens at Baumholder Germany in the 60s when I with special Services USO Shows
Dick Curless's voice reminds me of Country Dick Montana.
"Great American Music." In the words of golfing great Curtis Strange: "Naaaaaaace."
the red baron sounds like sink the Bismarck
Yeah but the Baron was bought down by an australian rifle vrom the trenches.Fact.
I wear one of those "Bulldogger" ties like Don is wearing. They look really nice on stage.especially with a small Diamond in the center.
I want America to be great again in 2023.
Dwight does some awesome Buck cover songs
Look at Don during Out Of My Mind, not even looking down at what he's playing. That kids is a true master
Great performer and band
The method of doing the end credits on this show is fantastic.
Buck and Don were the best no question
More number 1 hits than the Beatles. (1 more)
Don rich is a master….listen to how dry his notes sound!
And still incredible
Yes he could have I got to talk to him back then I ask him that .He said he did some show on his own it was nice .But he said he like playing with Buck an the buckaroos better .may some day he would do that but hope not for a long time
Buck’s Polka!
Nudie suits rock!

Where can we find...ALL of the episodes of this classic show?
The Buck Owens Ranch show ran in syndication across the country and pre-dates HEE HAW. It started in 1966 and ran until 1973. I believe there were about 103 episodes. Want any better than these men ain’t gonna happen in your life

+Scott McGibeny Agreed; I describe today's C&W as Deep Purple with Larry the Cable guy on vocals.
even that is a novelty now.. any traces of country is dead and replaced by rap clap trap electronics
Buck begged him to stop riding motorcycles. Even the last day of Don's life. I think Buck would have given him a Cadillac to stop that Harley riding.
I became a big Buck Owens
I think Wayne Wilson is playing the bass instead of Doyle Holly. I guess Doyle must have been in Buck’s dog house.
Buck was a business man too! No go fund me page for his funeral. Radio stations, club, land and the assorted books he sold on the show. Hee Haw wasn't his favorite gig but he cashed the checks! And he would have donated every penny to get Don back. Too bad that doesn't work.
Fernando poe jr movie
Pretty lady nice
Just prior to his death Don was set to leave BUCK but the Lord had other plans RIP Don.
The Fender acoustic guitar That Buck played, Some people say, what’s not as good as in Martin or Gibson. The way Buck made it sound good He’s really making chicken salad out of you know what.
don rich is a little off that day
I noticed that. But he recovered nicely and kept on smiling.
This is the first episode that the 66 Silver Sparkle Telecaster is shown. Fender probably wanted it on television ASAP, seeing as how Buck had a Fender endorsement, and Don might have not had time to get it broken in all the way.
If you have dad burn!😊
What in the hell has happened to country music!
