I'm 66, my husband is 72, we love your videos. We binge watched every video, twice, and now we're experiencing severe withdrawal. So even though we're the furthest thing from 'gear heads' (I read the comments) we are so starved for your unique brand of entertainment that, yes, we would love to watch a run-through of your gear, and you can do it from your own backyard! Seriously, thanks for all of it. We love Blake because he is often battered and broken, but perseveres. We identify with that. We love all the guys. Best thing on youtube.
So good. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a run through on your gear. Like make it an hour long-feed your fellow gear heads pleeeeeeaaaaassse. Also easy to do during the lockdown. If you do I’ll buy $100 in merch. Swear
@@Mike-rj6wn thanks for the tip! Strange that they would put it on a different channel. I think an episode on their fitness regimens would be cool. Christof clearly only does curls for the girls but I would still like to hear about those curls ;)
I never get tired of waking up and seeing Timp out my window. That mountain really dominates the entire valley, and for being only 11,750 it just feels so much larger than it is. Definitely punches above its weight. And the views from the ridge are incredible. The city and lake on the west and Heber valley and Uintas to the east. Never not a good day spent on Timp. Even just chilling around Sundance and the falls is always amazing. Love Dry Canyon. So much to see up there.
@@cnuila crazy! I fly for Alaska Airlines and just moved/live in Lehi. I’ve been climbing all over these mountains and have seen a ton of these videos (mediocre amateur) and had no idea. I’m also really good friends with a United pilot who was paralyzed in 2019 from a mountain bike wreck who lives in Draper.
Wow. What a beautiful adventure. This video was such a bright spot in my morning when they have otherwise been dull, stale, and gloomy for the past month. For those of us who are unlucky enough to live far away from the mountains that we ski, this makes us salivate. As always, thank you to Danny, Christof and the rest of the M.A. team help us life vicariously through them. I would love to see more of your action in the Wasatch. We all love your adventures on high peaks around the US (and world) but as someone who is getting ready to move to Salt Lake City, seeing the Wasatch up close really excites me. After all, what you might consider a "boring" day in the mountains is probably way more fun and exciting than any day I'll ever have. Perhaps this quarantine period is a good time to showcase more of your backyard? Again, thank you!
Love it. To have that in your backyard is awesome, I have to drive for 1-1/2 hours here in UK to get to the mountains and then they’re not in the same league. Keep the videos coming and maybe you’ll get over here one day to tackle the Cuillin Ridge.
Guys, thanks again from week five of lockdown in Madrid, España. More vicarious ski mountaineering is being lived through your days out. I for one am very happy that you have that playground on your doorstep. May you have many more (for us all)
Brilliant stuff. Thanks for this. It was needed! Week 5 of lockdown for me in the UK. I had to cancel my month in the alps over easter, which was a bummer, to say the least. Here's to winter 20/21.
I too live in the shadow of Timp. All the time during winter and spring I look up there and wonder what it's like up top at this time of the year. Thanks for this extremely well shot video to show us what it's like. What a great day! Best channel on TH-cam, I'm doing what I can to spread the word.
Timp is a great mountain indeed. Nice the Forest Service hasn't closed all of the trailheads like they have here in Oregon! Super day of maintaining social distancing!
Timp has some incredible day hike opportunities for regular people. This flatlander will never forget my day on the Timpooneke trail. Great video, guys!
Hiked up there in the summer, 45 years ago, and that west side looked like a giant talus slope of sharp rocks. You are one brave guy hiking up in snow.
I'm a salt lake local, love your vids and the beta they provide for me. Keep doing local trails through the quarantine!!! Also have you considered doing any meetup adventures with fans? I'd love to join in on the rad-ness sometime!
I have several partners in SLC from my days in Jackson before moving to AK. Every time I visit I ask about Timp and my eyes always wander to that skyline. I need to get it done. This was a great outing. Amazing snow to the car. And I have some pack envy, too. Damn it.
I’m so happy to have another video! Thank you, I know adventuring right now is kind of fraught with complications. What an amazing mountain to have in your backyard. Beautiful footage as always.
I was looking for Rainer videos in prep of my climb and found y’all. Your videos have become my favorite thing to watch!! You’re amazing. I want to do all these things.
Awesome work! I'm pretty sure I saw you guys unloading the other day, and I thought, "they must have been on an epic adventure". I'm also two blocks away from the Trailhead. Love it, and congrats on the sweet adventure. Zero wind is super rare!
Dont let the quarantine shammers bring you down!!! Love your vids. better than the pros - who are so emotional and serious about everything they do these days.
Did this hike this summer. Only made it to the waterfall. It was hot out and I was smoked since I had spent the last couple of weeks in glacier and the Tetons. Beautiful hike though
Iv been out hiking and climbing this whole entire quarantine. Just me and the wild. Get out there people! Its the best form of social isolation. Cheers!
Curious if you’ve noticed better air quality along Wasatch Front given less driving with the current limitations. Lived in SLC for many years and the winter gunk (inversions) were always depressing. Good time to get into mountains. Great videos. Amazing views at 6:08! Mt. Nebo in distant background if I’m correct.
You guys are awesome! Love your videos! Can you do a video talking about what you do to train and work out for these adventures while you're in lockdown?
If you are walking on a cornice you should use your probe to determine its thickness as you walk. Great technique to determine where the cornice ends and the mountain begins.
I tried to summit Mt. Timp in September this past year and got stuck in a snowstorm I wasnt expecting just before Emerald lake and had to turn around. It was an amazing trail coming up the east side of the mountain, regardless! First time I had been out there during the "summer" before, its beautiful!
I had no clue you were this close to me.. I live in Lehi. Iv been following you since your early videos, and little did I know you lived right down the road..
Hehe, thanks for the break! I am still kinda unhappy that I am missing out the spring ski mountaineering season here in the alps. I saw Christof got himself a Salewa Winter Train backpack. I have the same, albeit in the grey variant, and am super happy with it. It is light, practical and nice to wear. The only downside was that in the first one I got, the ski attachment strap broke on the first use (still in the valley, so nothing bad happened :)).
Thorsten Reitz Danny actually has one too on this outing. Really have liked it, although funny the only flaw we can find as well is that ski carry strap. Hasn’t broke yet but just not our favorite.
Interesting, I've been up Dry Canyon to the Big Baldy trail junction, tried to look for Everest Ridge but could not tell the best route up from that point since it was off trail from there on out.
You guys should look into the Great Range Traverse in the Adirondacks! When everything is normal again that is. Love all your videos thanks for posting great content!
BRING BACK BLAKE! Despite all his whining that guy hardly ever dies.
I agree. !!!
He's on Instagram- says he's busy with work and has an achy knee
Agree
Like my dads old Chevy. Leaks oil like a civ, but Cant die. Won’t die.
The people want “FAT, WHEEZY BLAKE!”
Christoph is so lucky he has a good friend who almost made a reservation at the hospital for him.
Anita Back roads only he’d probably still make me drive myself though

The more new gear I see, the more I think "This guy convinced his wife these are investments for review content". Danny is a genius on so many levels.
Cameron Griffin if he works in an outdoor industry or has access to expert voice etc. you can get some crazy discounts.
You guys make it look a lot easier and smoother than summer hiking. Nice winter shots!
With those shades and luxurious mane, Danny is starting to look like a Warren Miller highlight reel from the late 80s.
I already love this channel, but when you said "quarantine shamming" I was like these are my people, love it!!!
