    Finally a MA video. It has been a while and it is a good one. Some of the zingers out of Danny’s mouth always impresses and draws some laughs. That is too bad for Cristof in breaking a hip. I could only imagine how difficult it must be to be taken to a standstill and for so long. Ouch! Be well soon Cristof. You are missed!

    Crazy how this peak is a "boring" peak for them. Living in Chicago I would be happy with anything 50 times less cool than this place...not a mountain for 100s of miles in any direction. Love living vicariously through you all!

    • @dykim90
      @dykim90 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You have Lake Michigan! I used to swim there all the time as well as bike and run next to it. Summertime chi is the best. Plus you can fly direct out west to many mountain cities. I used fly out to Denver Seattle and Vancouver all the time to snowboard. Don’t limit yourself! Get out there!

    • @PhatPat6069
      @PhatPat6069 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dykim90 Oh don't worry...the availability of flights is one of the best things about living here. I'm currently working on the Colorado 14ers and have 30+ in the last 4 years. I do wish I could spend more casual weekends camping in the mountains though (hard to beat Lake Michigan in the summer though...or the food scene here). One of my favorite things about this channel is it pushes me to train harder for those trips out west so I can do more EPIC adventure like the Amateurs (although my adventures are never nearly as ambitious as theirs).

    • @Tahiristan
      @Tahiristan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Seriously! I have done Kings Peak twice. I have also done a lot of "cool hikes" before my health issues slowed me down (breathing issues) and I feel like he's trying to say that without sounding ungrateful. That being said, Kings Peak is stunning. I think it's one of the best hikes/views in Utah. So idk what he's complaining about haha I also did it in Summer, so it's really green and there's literally dozens of blue lakes you can see from up there.

    • @PhatPat6069
      @PhatPat6069 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Tahiristan yeah not trying to speak for them... But I didn't take it as ungratefulness but rather the fact that there's so much cool stuff that they do so this is tame in comparison. Also ... Not speaking for them, but they did nearly do it before and it never feels super fun to go back someplace just to check off a box. Poor Christof though..I hope they go back again with him someday haha..

    • @Tahiristan
      @Tahiristan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PhatPat6069 I agree with you! I was just saying based off of how he said it. We definitely take it for granted here! You'd LOVE Kings Peak. It is an amazing hike but these guys are spoiled. I have followed them for a long time and I see their stuff all the time, and I love their stuff!! But they are definitely spoiled. When you have to take a backseat and take a break (like I have had to due to health issues), you miss all of it so much. I would do anything to do a "boring hike" right now.

    Sure, Uintas may not be as "dramatic" looking as Wasatch, or Tetons, or Sawtooths....but their beauty in my opinion is more understated. We went there in Sept and fall colors were amazing, as well as the huge valleys. Of course we were not on a clock to hoof it to the peak and back, so we "smelled the roses" more perhaps....

    What a weird experience - was lamenting the absence of your signature music, and up comes this commercial for Creede Boutique using the same damn music! WTF? Did sound like you snuck a little of that in at the very end....anyway, I spent a lot of time in the Uinta Basin working as a geologist on drill sites around Duchesne and Roosevelt, and some work west of SLC....and that damn Kings was just always looking sooo inviting...used to just stare at that peak for hours....just never either got the chance, or made it a priority more like, to actually climb it. Also interesting that despite the length, the northern approach is preferred....I know there IS a way to do it from the south, but it must not be much fun from what I can tell. Funny that I have done a ton of climbs and skiis in Colorado where I live, but the two peaks that I most want to do is Kings and Deseret. Deseret is cool just being out there in the middle of the desert I guess...anyway, nice video, especially after that debacle a couple of years back...did not know there was EVER zero wind up there! Hoping Christoff is on the mend....I nailed my hip countless times telemarking on hardpack, skateboarding and mtn biking, and now in my relative old age that left hip is trash. Those things tend to catch up with one years later....Peace.
