AI in historical battles is scripted to act in a certain way. For example, AI usually wont form square formation in normal skirmish battles so you can charge their lines with cav and destroy them easily, while in battle of waterloo british will form square instantly if there's a french cav nearby.
So you win this on "very hard" with half your army being idle, the enemy attacking in waves rather than trying to overwhelm you and you didn't even have to make use of terrain or micro manage. Total War battles against AI were always too easy.
the russian cav first charging your arty and then ignoring it was peak ai moment
Real, they were going for the guns, just for them to turn last second and go for the only unit that couldn't form square, since they were NG units.

Yep, the ai is not the brightest in the TW games, I’m hoping for maybe some kind of remake in the future, with better ai!
