Wookie Runs OREGON CASCADES 100: A Mile-By-Mile Account (2021)

On August 28, 2021, I ran the inaugural Oregon Cascades 100, a gorgeous point-to-point 100-miler in the Cascades starting just outside of Bend and ending in Sisters.
As I've done with other races, I decided to take a short video clip at each mile to memorialize how I was feeling in the moment. I put the clips together into an 12-minute film that reveals the ups and downs of ultra running as experienced by one runner.
I finished in 24 hours, 41 minutes, and 10 seconds, which was my new 100-mile PR by several hours. Even though this was my fastest 100-miler, it was also mentally one of the most difficult. The video reflects that--just as with life--ultras have many highs and lows.
