    There are people who respect others for their racial perfrence.
    And then there are the people who hate a type of race as a dating option and will share this opinion with everyone around them instead of keeping it to themselves.

      @statussiidhaea When speaking about those outspoken people who are giving their own opinions on the subject matter of dating options being racialized. What' makes that hateful ? If the fight is to champion "equality & tolerance" for all. Then any & all positions agreed or disagreed upon should have a platform to debate & exchange ideas on any public forum or platform... Should it not ?
      It seems people like yourself are only accepting & tolerant of your own ideological views. While disingenuously blurring the lines between hate v.s preference/opinion in bad faith.

      Similar to like ageism, I’m sorry I don’t like minors and I don’t like old people😥 it’s normal to have some preferences when you date someone, it’s just another thing when you outright will give 0 chance to anyone of a race purely for the fact of skin tone

  • @Xuromikuromi
    @Xuromikuromi ปีที่แล้ว +905

    It's definitely walking the line when you "don't date white guys but I'll date anyone else" I had a white friend like that who basically exclusively dated darker black men. She didn't want a white baby, that's it. I'd understand if she found black men more attractive, but to seek out a certain race so your baby can look a certain way... Yea... It's a no from me. It's definitely racist even if it feels like it's not. It's like when your straight friends put you on a pedastool of friendship for being gay like, are you my friend cause you like me or cause you want a GBF?? It just feels like you're a fetish. Or they want brownie points for not dating white people.

    • @Lunalla
      @Lunalla ปีที่แล้ว +80

      This is sadly more common than you know. Many white women and black men alike are weirdly obsessed with having mixed babies, and it’s their main goal when marrying or getting in a relationship. It’s funny because you can’t determine what that child is gonna look like, it’s so weird to me lmfao. And being mixed (black and white) I’ve seen all sides and heard the most weird shit regarding to my skin color, hair and features.

    I was dating a girl who was Mexican and she was making jokes about white people and white patents basically saying they need to beat their kids more. I said thank god my parents aren’t Mexican cause they’d beat my ass every day (something along those lines it wasn’t funny but wasn’t super racist either) she immediately turned around and slapped me really hard and we broke up. This was hands down the most weird interaction I’ve ever had with a partner.
    If you can dish you should be able take it and if you can’t then don’t say anything.

    • @squirrel670
      @squirrel670 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah, screw her. That's what happens when you beat your kids, they end up aggressive and want to solve issues with violence. My mom beat me and I told her I'm not bringing that to my children.
      How come my white boyfriend can be raised without being beaten but we need it? Then she told me when I get older I'll understand. No tf I won't. That just means I forgot how it felt and I will never. All I did was hate her and do what I was doing worse. They think beating their kids is funny and some kind of pride in it. People want to spread their trauma or break free from it.

    I’m a simple Irish gal, I’ve dated people a white person before, I’ve also dated an Asian person before.
    Both relationships were amazing, race had nothing to do with how these people treat me. We had our cultural differences, however I learned so much, it was amazing to learn about another persons culture.
    I suppose I don’t have a racial preference, but also I understand people that do. The Asian guy I dated went on to date an Asian woman, which is totally okay, I can 100% understand why somebody would choose another from their own race, we are still friends and yeah, really I’d date anyone as long as they were kind and I found them attractive.

      idk, i'd say its different from some people. I did get crushes for guys that didnt catch my eye, solely because of their personality. Like, it happened to me that in a group of friends at the restaurant a guy started talking about videogames with me and I find it so interesting to talk to him and he made me laugh and was quite funny and we shared many games in common, and after a couple hours i realized I started crushing for him. Even tho I didnt really feel attracted to his looks at first, i literally wasn't feeling anything for him until he started talking. I agree. Black people do not take kindly to people who say colored person because it's an outdated term. But even Person of Color gets you yelled at. Senior year of high school in 2021 when we were having online school, I was in my English class and we were having a discussion I can't remember what about. But the topic of minority stuff came up and I said something to chime into the discussion and at one point I said people of color. And this group of black guys in my class who were some of my schools biggest a*sholes/troublemakers SLAMMED me for saying that. I didn't even say colored, I said people of color. My teacher had to turn off the chat because me and those guys were arguing. And mind you I'm black too. Oh boy if there was ever a moment when I wanted to murder a classmate that was it. I can't believe the nerve of all these black people who have this ridiculously extreme victim mentality and think that they can use racism and slavery and all the other past traumas of black people over the course of history to just do whatever they want without consequences because after all in their minds "Black people have been through way worse things than everybody else". I'm SICK of it. Sorry for ranting but my point is that I don't personally even see a huge problem with using the word colored, it's just a word that they used to describe us back in the day. Whites or non-whites, whites or coloreds, white people or colored people. It's just what they said, it's just what was on paper. It wasn't even a slur, just a description. I'll admit hearing someone use that word today does make me do a double take because again no one says that anymore. But does it offend me? Not really.

    So for context I’m a white woman, 23, and would consider myself bi/pan. I used to be quite the “activist” because we all want people to be comfortable being themselves right? But i don’t support or buy into the identity politics, tribal warfare of recent years. It’s gone way too far. Bitches do be crazy. Anyways, I don’t have much of a racial preference. I will say that, from my experience, different races/ethnicities have different cultures which will affect a relationship. For (Americanized) Arabs, they tend to have really strict family values and a lot of the time are also part of a tight knit community. Indian communities are also tight knit, but families tend to be very welcoming if you’re respectful/interested in their customs and culture - though this generally comes with expectations that some may find distasteful (like cooking/cleaning/child rearing house wife). So let’s get to the point. While I’m not opposed to being involved black men, I am much more cautious than I am with other races. This is because I’ve heard about how they talk about white women, like it’s a fetish or status symbol. I’ve also had some in depth discussions about this with some of my open minded black male friends that helped me better understand this. Obviously that’s a generalization, but generalization come from somewhere. I just don’t want to be objectified based on my skin color and treated like a handbag that’s getting shown off. I think it really important that these things are talked about candidly. I don’t think someone is automatically racist for having a preference, just like you’re not transphobic for not being sexually attracted to trans people. If you’re completely against dating someone you would otherwise be interested in only because of their race, maybe evaluate that. If you have justifications for staying away, like not wanting to deal with tiger parents, certain cultural expectations, etc then that’s reasonable.

    • @m.i.zeiler2892

      I completely agree with you. And I honestly feel like if you feel more comfortable dating a certain race (like other white people) why should that be a problem? You’re not harming anyone. You’re not committing a hate crime, you’re not using offensive language, you’re not doing any of that. The world has become way way way too strict specifically towards “white people.” Even someone in my school was yelling on social media about white people who would rather not date black people. (And he wasn’t even black.) So why is that his business? There are so many people who also don’t want to date white people but no one talks about that. Anyway, yeah, people should just do what they want and leave each other alone. Agree 100%. And I’ve seen the bad treatment of white women too (not with specifically black men but just with men everywhere who treat white women like sex objects and degrade them, specifically since the whole “Karen” thing. It’s horrible. Also the “dumb blond bimbo” stereotype. And not to mention all the endless horrible “that’s a white girl thing” stereotypes online, specifically when someone does something stupid. Everywhere in my hometown and on the internet people say to respect women better of all races except white women of course. Obviously that doesn’t help either.) the whole “woke” thing has gone way too far tbh. And I’m more liberal than conservative so this is nothing political for me. Just the attitude is so discriminatory and has become bullying so often, just created more hate.

I mean mostly white people were saying it’s racist to have a preference - that one girl even said her dating white guys is where she thinks most of her dating problems originate from. If you said that about another race people would jump down your throat for being racist, but it’s ok because you’re demonizing white men specifically? That’s so hypocritical! What *really* matters at the end of the day is physical and emotional attraction. Different people find different features are attractive, and that’s totally ok! To be clear, I’ve dated black guys before. I just think it’s important to point out that there’s reasons why I may be more cautious feeling out those relationships because of the potential fetishization stuff. It’s really no different than being wary about certain family dynamics or religious practices imo🤷🏼‍♀️

Or maybe it was “I see a lot of white people doing this…” and it was something really derogatory, basically like describing the cancer of society. It’s unbelievable. Like do people seriously forget that white people are people too? I honestly think people are just dumb too tbh. I of course meant no disrespect and she's very politically incorrect as they say so I'm sure she wouldn't be offended. I see somebody else had deleted their reply about the word "Caucasian" and my understanding has always been that it means white but apparently that person said it's a separate ethnicity. To clarify I am American and of quite heavy European descent and utterly refuse to call people "white" or "black" because to me those are skin colors, not race/ethnicity although those color terms do refer to European and African descent respectively. Of course society at large is overly obsessed with race/ethnicity which does contribute to more individual racism even if the US is less systemically racist than it was decades ago.

    I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: as a white woman, I would not be offended if someone said they were not attracted to white people. Because someone else out there IS. It’s not racism (unless they make that clear that it is), it’s just preference. Like how some people like blue. Maybe someone likes the beautiful way a black womans skin glows when she wears yellow? Or the way an Japanese woman’s features are soft and gentle, but then are so animated and enthusiastic when they speak about the stuff they love. Maybe they don’t even know why they like what they do, but it just feels comfortable to them? Rejection sucks, but remember people- you don’t want someone who doesn’t want you. So just go. It hurts, but it’s a lot less of a hassle in the long run. 🤷🏻‍♀️
    (Before anyone says anything about what I’ve said above, I’m pansexual- those are only a few simple examples from what I like about a those certain POC. Sorry if it in anyway is offensive to you- I find certain things beautiful about certain kinds of people, and I’ve been with a whole rainbow of people, so please take no offense. I have no preference except kindness and nice smiles ❤)

    Dating is inherently discriminatory. Even if you exclude whole races altogether it is ultimately your choice of who you want to be with regardless of the reasons. Going out of your way to demean a race by calling them ugly, weak, stupid, etc and using that as justification to exclude them would be racism. But if you said "I just don't find them attractive" or "I want to pass down my culture to children that look like me" then that's totally acceptable and shouldn't be shamed. Most people (whether they want to believe it or not) are attracted to their own race.

      It’s just a very antiquated and racist term for Black people. What makes “colored person” so different is the history behind the term- it was heavily used post-Slavery in the US, especially in the South during the Jim Crow era (I.e. racial segregation). Places designated for white people was labeled “whites only” and for Black people was “Coloreds”. There’s a lot of pain behind that word hence why it’s considered hateful to use it. It’s comparable to J*w or Or*entals. It’s inappropriate and antiquated and no one really (or at least should) refer to people with such terms anymore

      It's because colored people is the term we read about in us textbooks of segregation and is associated with racism. The signs that they put over the water fountains and stuff to segregate. No coloreds, white only, and stuff like that. The person of color is to specify anyone nonwhite and doesn't have that connotation, even though when it first came out, that's what it reminded people of.
      It's worse than the anxiety thing because if you know anything about black people and you live in America, you should at least know not to call one a colored person, especially the one you're trying to date. She doesn't want to put in work to someone whose bar is on the floor.

Me and my boyfriend have mostly the culture but my sister and family are different. Where you live can also have issues. In America if you're the nonwhite partner, you can often be called a nanny or be accused of kidnapping.
