    Love the video, thank you. It took me two years for mix to happen consistently. I go to sing and I can't even sing like I use to. It's amazing man once you develop it into muscle memory. I am trying to teach it to others and a lot of people have problems with tension. The whole face needs to be relaxed to find that spot where mix is. I've watched your videos and Sam Johnson's videos. Then I hired a coach to make sure I found it and I did then it was consistent after that. I just like coming back to this cause you give valuable information that can help people grow.

      I struggled with mix a lot and Sadly it seems like most people who crack it have a vocal coach which I don't have the means for currently so am teaching myself and don't get me wrong I am making a lot of progress but consistent mix is probably thw most difficult by far for me.

      @@ruantristancarlinsky3851 Ok, so from every thing I gathered it's focus. I don't now how to teach someone this. For me I lean. Everything aligns and shit just happens but this is something difficult to find. You're still scared. I was terrified but now I am not. You learn to shut that shit off through the exercises. You stay in one spot and DO NOT MOVE IT. This is a way of life after and it helps with social things as well. Focus everything in the hum and that is your inner power/strength. What ever they call it. Got to get rid of the terms cause that makes it shut off.

      Who did you hire as a coach to help get you there consistently?

    Man I love your videos so much man, I appreciate the genuine interest and compassion you have for us self taught singers.
    Honestly I really struggle with mix, last year my mix was really strong and well developed but I seemed to have lost it completely.
    Just going up to an F4 is so hard now, I can only sustain it with falsetto. This mix voice thing ia definitely more a mental thing though. And the inconsistency really frustrates me so much especially when you see other singers do it so easily on command it can get pretty discouraging.
    So the advice at the end is really great because its easy to just beat yourself down and say to yourself "I'm never gonna get it" cause that's what I feel like sometimes...

I managed to finally discovered the pathway to my true mix voice placement. Finally I can sing some of Wes Hampton songs I have been struggling to figure out for so long😁. Greatly appreciate you bro. 🙏👊

    I do a lot of rock songs, but I have bee using this technique to reset and buffer my tension through the set.
    I lose myself along the way but I seem to be improving across the board the more I learn to maintain this technic. Trick to singing live is to be aggressive in a total relaxed position.
    Keep the position at all times and Connection to the song will naturally bring about the entertainment side of you.

    The secret behind this is the yodel and air support from your body while relaxing the throat. This very light burst of air and subsequent minuscule closure of the vocal cords is what allows to get to that pleasant sound without sounding like a yell.

    This is an excellent video. I really like it when you demistify a couple of myths in particular being, "you must feel the cool in your back" and " sensation of a mixed sound is in front, or sitting in the bridge of your nose, or in between your eyes, or in between your nose and upper lip... bla bla". Brilliant explanation. What would be the pitches for a female voice for starting the jumps?

    • @tylerwysong
      @tylerwysong  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you so much. I am so sorry I forgot to mention the female starting point in the video. I will get better about that in the future videos.
      For the female voice I would start from Bb3 to F4 and move up until the top note is around Bb4

    Hi Tylor. I need some clarity if you could kindly help me. For some reason I feel two distinct pathways moving up in my mix. One just above my hard pallet and the other just behind my nose. Are there two separate pathways and if so which in the correct one to sing through. And if not, why does it feel like two? Really appreciate your feedback. Much love and respect for what your doing. God Blesss🙏

    does the front of the mouth (cooling) include tongue, hard pallete, and teeth? I feel my inhale is a lot better when trying this exercise. I can flip without much or any break but it still sounds like head/falsetto.

  • @trevorhyde1148

    My teacher says it sounds like my voice is less resonant when I do this type of mix technique, versus when my mix feels slightly more heady. My voice feels more contained and like I’m using less air when I use this approach. 🤔

    • @tylerwysong
      @tylerwysong  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

  • @Solomon_Bachelor

    • @tylerwysong

      That’s a great question. For this particular exercise you would need to inhale through the mouth.

      I would say mix voice is a little bit softer than the shout. It’s always hard for me to answer these kinds of questions though without actually hearing you. It’s possible you are literally too soft in volume but o have kk way of knowing until I hear it.
