    Tyler, I've been watching your videos for a few months and I've been trying to wrap my mind around the mixed voice. You and everyone else say to be patient and to keep developing. I am working on strengthening my falsetto and my chest voices. been working on pulling chest up and bringing falsetto down. I've been doing your exercises. I know this is all foundation work. While watching your videos I just couldn't get that middle sound that you make that is bright and strong. Every once in. awhile I got something but couldn't quite grasp it. Well, my friend, you Brough tears to my eyes today. The exercise of bringing falsetto down and then using your hand on your mouth coming up did it!! Man, that's magic. you just helped me discover some new zone of my voice. Thank you so much!! Please keep posting.

    Thank you so much! After spending the last five days with so many hours a day working towards mix voice with so many different youtube teachers, with you on this video I have gotten clear mixed voice as high as I want with no vocal fry overbearing the sound.

    Thank you very much for your videos. I started watching them about 2 moths ago. I also got the Mix Voice Masterclass course a month ago and it is helping me a lot. I recommend it 100%.
    Once again, thank you very much!

    Wow, Tyler, I watched you again today and my mix was there! I even was able to move back and forth between the falsetto and mix and even down to chest. WOW! oh boy, a new toy! I can't get it to obey while moving the passaggio in a song but I can be patient and keep practicing. It will come. Thanks. WOO

    Very practical advice. I’ve got very good sound of mixed voice. I always thought my singing voice was ugly. This video helps me uncover the singing voice that i am looking for.

    Thank you for making so many videos that focus on the mixed voice! I was dragging my chest voice into my head voice and seemed like I was yelling, exactly the points you’ve described.
    Love all your videos and the positive messages at the end. ❤

    Thank you! I’ve been watching your channel for a few months and your lessons are getting me closer to develop my mix voice. I agree with you that it is not easy work and needs consistent work. But your perspective and exercises really do help me bring out lovely loud notes that I would have previously strained to reached.

    hey Tyler, another awesome video! I am able to do the oo-ee-ah exercise in mixed but only at a soft volume. The mix is also very head dominant, unlike yours which sounds more chesty. I wonder if this is how it starts and if it will naturally grow? Or do I have to do something else?

    • @tylerwysong

If that is something you are interested in you can check out my lesson plans here. It would be an honor to get to work with you.

    Hi, can we say that the "buzz" you are talking about is a "twang"? Or is it a different thing?

    • @EntangleMyWebs
      @EntangleMyWebs ปีที่แล้ว

      Many people may use those words interchangeably, but when I personally think of twang, I think of nasal. The buzz you get from flow phonation (especially after doing SOVT straw exercises) feels like it's coming from somewhere around the uvula and doesn't change much if you pinch your nose closed, or at least you can shift it so that it doesn't change. It kinda feels like the walls of your throat are resonating, not just the nasal cavities. Then, when you hum low and quiet (you could use "low falsetto" on "ng" or "mm" here), you can get your entire head to resonate extremely loudly, and I still wouldn't call that twang although it goes very much into the nasal cavities.
      In the past, when I did what I'd call "twang" before I did SOVT straw exercises, it didn't resonate so powerfully. It felt very forced and changed the sound drastically. I never quite understood the "buzz" word that some other vocal coaches used because I simply didn't have much of a buzz at all. It's extremely noticeable once you get it (only to you, not so much to others listening), but it can go away very quickly if you don't do flow phonation daily or almost daily.

    • @tylerwysong
      @tylerwysong  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No it’s not the same as twang, it’s different.
      Twang is made by a narrowing of the pharyngeal constrictor muscles. This ring (although has a twang sound because it’s made in the higher frequency range) is not made by a narrowing of the pharyngeal walls but by a narrowing of the tongue dorsum somewhere along the palate.
