    It's the basic stuff that counts. I've come so far as a producer just from your tutorials and feedback streams. I've gotten my first official release by a small label and I can't thank you enough Zen!

    i was just getting into making Future Bass and always thought my chords sounded loose and empty. But after this tutorial ,it made my Supersaws much Better! (I also recommend Gentle Compression and Warm Saturation (Very Less) to get that closed and tight feel while still maintaining the wideness - I sound like an idiot).

    nice tutorial. it sounds different than a usual supersaw indeed. i wouldn't call the highend of a supersaw "harsh" though. i think supersaws are some of the most mellow sounds on earth when it comes to sounds that go through the whole spectrum

  • @Stormgnome
    @Stormgnome 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Considering that supersaws get their sound due to the phase interaction, I would say that nasty high end is just a result of said phasing.
    On another note, this is a good tip for any kind of synth layering. Noise from every synth preset you use can easily stack up.

    I get it. Here's the thing. The original "white noise" from the saws is phasey. It's going to get weird every time you change chords. If you have something like a hi-hat going or anything else that's got a lot of high frequencies, you'll probably get some weird masking going on. Adding white noise gets you the highs back but without the phase and resonating issues.

How do you chose your synth, how do you know which one will fit with another one, bc when I try synth, I never hear the one I want, it's always 2 or 3 synths that are going to be good together and not alone, that would be for chords (supersaw too) and lead !

    I mean Diva still brings pretty much any computer to a grinding halt like a head-on collision, but in the few seconds before your DAW starts begging for mercy and freaking air bags deploy from your audio interface, it sounds aight lol.

    You should do a video on Audien's supersaws, which are kind of an extension of this.
    Essentially, you do this before running it through a compressor (he uses ones like waves' mazerati to add character) to glue them together, and then has both another layer that's widened, and a "fart bass" layer, that's then all mixed together. You hear that basic technique in a lot of anjuna songs as well, it's one of the bases of that "sound" that label has.
