Hi.The tank you thought was oil tank.Was actually the sea tank for the old swimming pool.I´m born and raised in Heimaey and i learned to swim in the old pool..I was 16 when the eruption started and i was rather happy about it because i knew i would not have to take the english exam the next morning,That´s how a 16 year old think ha ha,Hope you enjoyed the visit.
