I had scaphoid surgery on December 11, 2023. Wore a brace after surgery until February 19, 2024. Then I started OT. Was hoping to get full movement back, but it's harder than I thought. I too have a lump near my scar. Movement in my left wrist is not as fluid as the right wrist. It feels like there is something in the left wrist preventing motion. Thanks Michal for posting your videos.

@@nasseraljoumaa7659 I continue to do wrist exercises at home. I feel that things are still the same. It feels very tight especially when flexing the wrist forward though it still doesn't move perfectly when doing wrist figure eights. I don't know what else to do to make the wrist more fluid in movement like the good wrist. Is there internal scar tissue preventing the movement? How long does it take to make it normal again, I don't know.

I had a scaphoid fracture at the end of December 2023, got surgery beginning of January have been out of the cast a couple months now and my wrist definitely still very tight some days more than others especially if I don’t stay on the physical therapy exercises like I need to but the forward backward motion of my hand is probably the most limited still, I can’t believe how long it’s been dealing with this fracture and still not being fully recovered is very frustrating! I hope everyone dealing with this can find the right exercises to get they’re wrist fully back in original working motion!

I'm a year into recovering and my wrist doesn't have that full range in motion like how yours does. I still have resistance bending my wrist forward and back. I hope this works. Doctors and insurance are both saying I don't need anymore therapy and the limited range I currently have is the best it will get

When my wrist felt a little better I started doing pushups on my fists very carefully as well as neutral grip pullups (those took a little longer to feel okay to do), but that bloodflow from exercise really helped me regain mobility FAST. In a couple weeks maybe a month I was able to be at 95+% range of motion of my non injured hand.

    Thanks for sharing.
I am very lucky to have had a speedy 8 week recovery. Key is to get it in a cast asap after injury to prevent non-union. After 24h i went to the hospital and had my waistline transverse minimally displaced scaphoid fracture in cast. 7 weeks later, out of cast. Its been 8 weeks and I’m back playing football and can do a press up (with most of my weight on my strong hand).
Doctors said I had recovered very fast for mid 20’s. I attributed this to goats milk. Interesting what you say about coffee and sugar. Not sure I believe it. There are conflicting studies on every area of nutrition. Only important thing is an active, healthy and balanced died. And self belief! (Placebo)

Thank you for this great video! I underwent wrist surgery myself about four months ago, not because of an injured scaphoid but an injured TFCC. I have already done a lot of similar exercises but there were new ideas for me for my daily routines! Thank you for that. I can highly recommend using a Flexbar (get the light light version with minimum resistance) as well as the Powerball for the occasional strength exercise. I still lack mobility in my wrist but am hopeful that I will get to where you got to in a few more months!

My son broke both his scaphoides. From October 2023 till April 2024 he was in a cast. Pre and post operation. Now his wrists are very stiff and not moving. Doctor has asked him to wait for two more week after removing the cast before he starts with mobility. He's still wearing 3d printed braces.
I can see he has a long road of recovery ahead of him before he can start lifting weights and doing pushpus

A year ago I fractured my scaphoid bone in my left wrist.. The doctors gave me a cast that restricted wrist movement and thumb movement.. I had it on for 3 months, doing checkups every 2 weeks after a month (they took xrays of my wrist every 2 weeks). Then after 3 months of the cast it did look like it healed a little bit but it was not yet clear if it was totally healed so they sent to get a CT scan. It was inconclusive, so they sent me to a specialist who said the CT was badly taken and he couldn't see anything.. Then I convinced him to take a quick x ray at least since I was travelling for 8 hours just to see him.. He said it looked healed up so that was it.. When I first took of the cast my wrist movement was so restricted.. I did some stretches and stuff but I also worked out doing pushups on fists when it felt a little better and the blood flow from that really helped get the movement back.. However, a year later I am not convinced that it has properly healed. I still get pain sometimes when leaning on my left hand. How long could you still feel the pain after the injury? Perhaps it has healed but I haven't been super disciplined with stretches and exercises so maybe it's the ligaments and what not that feels painful.

I've had a hairline scaphoid fracture for a little over 2 months, i just found out 3 weeks ago that it was a fracture as the first xray showed nothing. The drs told me to keep it in a splint, they gave me no cast. It still hurts badly to bend towards my thumb. How long will this take

Hi everyone, hi Michael, i would like to ask if anyone healed scaphoid fracture without surgery, i mean just with this physical therapy like Michael presented in this video ... I fall of a bike three weeks ago and x ray didn't show any fracture , I can't do push-ups and also lifting weights above ( like Michael said ) ... I'm not in pain until I try to do push moves or twisting moves. But the main problem are palms on the ground ( push-up position) I can do push-ups on my fists, it's painful but I can .... I would be thankful if anyone could share his experience, everything is helpful... Thanks in advance ✋

8:55 - easier to do this with a piece of paper underneath or piece of fabric as per my physio. Otherwise the hand will grip on the glass.
