I have had the same 223L trimmer for 14 years (Residential) and used it for my first 2 months commercial. All in all it is a great trimmer for residential customers. I got a FS94r in August and have been sold on Stihls ever since.... Great review

Cant blame you there... I also have a echo pb265L blower along with 2 Stihls. The echo (residential quality) worked fine for a few years then all the sudden quit cranking. I have since found out the flywheel key sheared off? And this is common with them. Still trying to decide if I want to spend money to fix or just get another br600 to replace...

Between this husqvarna and the stihl 94r best trimmer ive ever used.

I've owned 2 of these trimmers. The first one stopped starting after about 6 months so I took it back to lowes and got another one. It worked for about the same time period and started doing the same thing. Got the carb rebuilt and it still ran like crap and wouldn't start. Ended up basically giving the thing away. Bought an Echo

It handles a little differently than the husqvarna but you get used to it. Most importantly it starts easily and is light. I liked the Husqvarna but it just wouldn't last.

I'm surprised there is no mention on here of a Shindaiwa trimmer. I always had great luck with the 230's for my lawn care crews. They're nice and light, precise and easy to maintain.

Some are the same as echos but they also make 4 stroke hybrids

good review i use a 525l and the only down is the small fuel tank , it is a real downer.

I've had one of these since 2010, it's got like 25 hours on it, most of which were used hard. Have not replace anything or did any major maintenance. Just ran sea foam through the intake last year and it runs like new.
Did you ever get the carb adjusted after 8-10 fill ups? It says in the manual that it should be done, but it runs perfectly fine and I've done more than 10 fill ups.

Hey Shawn, if you go with echo go with the 266t it is a heavy trimmer but powerful. If you go with stihl the 94r is the exact trimmer. Stihl uses redmax engines on there trimmers.
I use the husky 323 and they work well. I bought them for 289 a unit. The 94 r is about 350. The echo are about 329.00. I would not buy anything less then the numbers i suggested. The echo 225/230 are not commercial and will not last as with the 223 you have in this video. Nice review

I been using an Echo srm-230 for 7 years now and only trouble I've had was what i mentioned in my comment to Shawn...the 225 and 230 carry the same warranty as the other trimmers...

The only echo I will own is the 266t. The 225 just does not cut the musterd for us. no where near the power and the warrantys do not matter. If you put ethanol fuel in them they are all void. thats just our expierene, but we trash weed eaters we replace them every 1.5 years to 2. this year was husky 323. We only had one carb fail and it was not covered due to ethanol. we have had 6 carb failures out the echo line they made it about 1.5 years.
When these huskys go I will eihther stick with them or go stihl. Not sure. We do alot of weed eating and they just dont last. the 223 L did not even make 2 months burn it right up.
We also do not run guards so that could be a big reason also!!

depends on what you plan to use it for more than anything, general everyday trimming the 225 is fine but don't go trying to stick a 8" saw blade on it... I know someone else that's been using a 225 daily for about 5 years no problems either but it's 21.2cc vs the 266 which is 25.4 with more torque I do believe, I run 230 but the next new one will be the 280T... I've never heard of ethanol voiding the warranty, I don't see how that could be possible when 95% of all gas has it now, some states you can't even buy non ethanol gas...

We have recreational fuel but it's 4.66 a gallon. Here's how they void it. You are having carb trouble so they say it's fuel related. Out of warranty. I have so many carbs denied due to ethanol I just don't even bother. I just order them and put them on the shop wall. Swap them out when they go bad.

sounds like you need to install the ethanol approved carb kits, the diaphragms are made from different materials that handle the ethanol better, it will do a number on the old style rubber diaphragms and as long as you don't let them sit with ethanol gas they should be fine, I used to never have to run them dry but I do now because the ethanol separates and reeks havoc...

I use an echo srm 225. Not too powerful but it's reliable. Also have a pas 266 with allot of attachments. Also the 230 edger again it's very reliable. Stihls are more powerful but man the echoes just keep runnin. Thanks for your vids

can't go wrong with Echo, I been running my srm230 for about 7 years now and only problem I had was the exhaust port got clogged (my fault) and the clutch spring broke a few months ago...

Spencer LawnCare If i were to only buy one trimmer,it would be a 90r. I love the 94r,but the pure torque will serve both trimming and brush cutting. I do NOT like my new husky trimmer, nor my tanaka.if i were to get two then id get a 94 and 90.this is just me and my opinion. echo is my 2nd choice and echo is rory's 3rd choice hehe!!

I would go with Stihl the reason being is because I have had Stihl for a couple of years and have had no problems out of them. I have a fs 90r and have put it through some tough grass and brush and did not even bog down. If I was to rate Stihl I would give them a 5 star rating

*Great trimmer plenty of power easy on fuel 🌴 **allabout.wiki/Husqvarna** and not as heavy as a Honda but has a great Honda engine, wish I would have purchased a long time ago.*

I have had Husqvarna and hate them. The newer stihls are not made like the old days. I have echo they run great and are cheap enough in price you can buy a new one every 3 years or so.
