But many black athletes, or people in general will just ASSUME the motive was racism, and jump to conclusions because that's what they want it to be. If social media has taught me anything, it's that many black people either misinterpret the meaning of racism, or they purposely try to make everything race related instead of acknowledging the fact that their are a-holes of every color, and skin color isn't ALWAYS the reason for some people's actions. Like do you know how many white athletes in sports have had things thrown at them, or called names? But they're white, so they see it for what it really is, which is just disrespectful fans being a-holes (passionate) but a-holes. Black athletes on the other hand, just assume it's racism every time... Which is such a flawed way to look at it, because you're basically expecting to be pampered and treated kindly by people that don't treat ANYONE kindly. Certain people aren't just going to respect you because you're black, and then disrespect the white athletes. If anything, they don't see color in that aspect. But the players DO see color, and make it something that it isn't. So ask yourself, who is actually the problem in many of these "race" scenarios? (And yes, obviously if a fan yells a legit slur or something than they're a racist POS) but with how often "racist" gets thrown around these days, I'm just not buying that many of these incidents are actually race related.

It seems like he's saying the racism is implied with direct fear as opposed to some other places where it's not deeply conflicted on to people. In other words Boston has major racism that's real and legit more than any other place he's been to.

They even hold prejudice in their own "culture" by making fun of people for being too light-skinned or too dark. Or making fun of black people who speak proper English saying they sound "white". Or call other black people shoe shiners or uncle Tom's if they're not in lock-step with the group think as if they're all one homogenous thinking group. Not to mention how they refer to white players as "white boys".

I'm from Boston and a minority and I can honestly myself say there is racism here I've experienced it personally but like Key said it's not everybody it really isn't and also like Perk said there's also different cultures here and there's also love and good people here I really hate when we're all put in one melting pot like it's all of us cause it isn't I've been to Celtics games numerous times around different ethnicities and never personally heard anything but I have heard the stories but again it's NOT from everyone

Through the years many athletes have voiced about experiencing racism from the Boston fan based. I remember Mo Vaughn saying in the 90s when he played for the Red Sox he experienced it. So you don't have to go back to the days of Russell. Certain regions racism is a culture. It's not all the Boston fan base but a good chunk
Boston gets a bad reputation for this absolutely, but living in philly for years i can say I've heard racist stuff and over the top insults from the crowd to players and fans of opposing teams. I remember the SB year for the Eagles, a pats fan got a bottle shattered over his head and people ran his pockets. So I agree Boston ain't the best but let's not pretend they are the only city hostile when it comes to sports.

There is literally racism in every city in America, America is racist, Boston fans are passionate and arguably the most dedicated fans there are in the country.
