This brings back many wonderful memories of my childhood in Ystalyfera and Pontardawe, where I learned Welsh as my first language. I have lived in London for 24 years but these hymns have a strong place in my heart, as does my heritage in these proud, Welsh speaking parts of Wales.

Wonderful hymn composed by Caradog Roberts. The words of "Onward Christian Soldiers" can be sung to this hymn tune which is called "Rachie". 😆

It's used as an alternative (and in my opinion far superior) tune to "Who is on the Lord's side?" Sadly hymns like these are being excluded from modern hymnals for being too 'militaristic'.

I learned loadsa these sounds/voice noises yn fy arddegau degawdau cyn dysgais iaith "y nefoedd".
Looking back, I'm not happy with being set up to spout such delusional, demonic, god-bothery beaulleaux.
